AboveAverage484 Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 When I download a video file from Kazaa v2.7, it's always either "remotely queing", "more sources", or when it does download it's at a painfully slow speed. I have a high speed connection that downloads video files off of my Internet at like 500 kbs. So what's my problem? And is a better place for downloading videos than Kazaa?
JJMc Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 I have the same problem a lot of the time, and it's increasingly more regular with music now, too. I think Kazaa just blows.
{''({o..o})''} Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Too many people abusing the system by not sharing, or artifically raising their rating to get downloads first. Blame people for it.
AboveAverage484 Posted August 28, 2004 Author Report Posted August 28, 2004 I'm also on a college server, that might be the problem with limited bandwith and such. Music downloads are decent, usually around 30 kbs.
AboveAverage484 Posted August 28, 2004 Author Report Posted August 28, 2004 Woah, Shareaza kicks ass! Thanks Raz!
the max Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Where may I obtain this Shareaza? Even Soulseek is crapping out on me lately.
{''({o..o})''} Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Amazingly enough, it's found at http://www.shareaza.com/. Who'd have thunk it?
the max Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Gratci. Surprisingly enough, that webpage didn't load for me at first...
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Kazaa is a dying whore. For everything you'll find on there, there are far better programs to use. I should just put together a post that will be the definitive TSM theft system.
razazteca Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 But then we wont have the same topic pop up 3 times a month.....where is the fun in that? This place needs a How to be a pirate thread so everybody can post links to their fav Bit Torret or where to get mp3 albums weeks in advance.
AboveAverage484 Posted August 29, 2004 Author Report Posted August 29, 2004 Go for it, Thumbtack. I'm sure Rant would pin it.
Jobber of the Week Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 They're slow because people don't upload as fast as they download, and the people who are sharing files can't send real fast especially if they have popular stuff and get hammered. As for making a theft thread, I try and actively discourage piracy around here with sneering remarks and a lack of help towards those who want to do it. My opinion is, if you can't figure it out how to do it yourself, you don't fucking deserve it and need to sit down and shut up. It's not exactly like it's 1994 anymore.
MrRant Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 Go for it, Thumbtack. I'm sure Rant would pin it. I would if I could. But I ain't no mod.
Addy Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 If your using a P2P please share your files whilst you sleep!
kkktookmybabyaway Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 It's too bad that stealing has gotten so difficult...
razazteca Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 The good old days when 4 million people were on one network are over.
AboveAverage484 Posted August 29, 2004 Author Report Posted August 29, 2004 One more question, sometimes when I'm downloading, the dl will freeze at random points and I will have to cancel and start the process all over again. How can this be avoided and/or fixed?
razazteca Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 Right click on mouse and choose Search for More Sources.
NoCalMike Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 I like using mIRC for music files. They tend to be superfast transfers especially when coming from a bot.
Guest Jdogfour20 Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 i have been using ares it get some fast speeds.
