Spaceman Spiff Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 So, yeah, just a heads-up for anyone interested. Interesting to see if they'll play something political or not. Or maybe something new.
haVoc Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 At this rate, Pearl Jam will be making videos again.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 22, 2004 Author Report Posted September 22, 2004 Highly doubtful. They go on Letterman every couple years or so. The last 2 times they went on right before they had albums coming out. For this show, they'll be in the area, doing a couple shows in Boston prior to this, and doing the Vote for Change show in Reading, PA the next night (for which I'll be in attendance).
snuffbox Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 Pearl Jam is still around? Yeah...they just dont record songs like 'Jeremy' anymore, I'm sure they apologize for any inconvenience caused by moving on.
SamoaRowe Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 Pearl Jam is still around? Yeah...they just dont record songs like 'Jeremy' anymore, I'm sure they apologize for any inconvenience caused by moving on. Their newer stuff is pretty good too, so people have been missing out.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 22, 2004 Author Report Posted September 22, 2004 "Dude, they gotta get back to making songs that sound like they would be on Ten."
Giuseppe Zangara Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 "Dude, they gotta get back to making songs that sound like they would be on Ten." It's not that people think that, it's that they don't care.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 23, 2004 Author Report Posted September 23, 2004 Maybe, but I have heard people say that (go back to sounding like Ten).
SamoaRowe Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 Maybe, but I have heard people say that (go back to sounding like Ten). I can support that claim, I've heard people say similar things. "They haven't been good since VS" is another one.
The Amazing Rando Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 I heard a local DJ basically saying that while he has heard songs he liked off their more recent albums (i.e. in the last 8 or so years), none of the albums were "good". I don't know how many other people think that, but it seemed as he took callers they all agreed.
UZI Suicide Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 People think the songs aren't good because they aren't radio hits, but I'd put Riot Act up against any PJ album besides Ten.
Guest Lawlerm Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 If they still made songs like the stuff from 'Ten' people would just complain that they hadn't moved on and weree still churning out the same stuff years later. There's no pleasing some people... And they better come to Europe next year
B. Brian Brunzell Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 People think the songs aren't good because they aren't radio hits, but I'd put Riot Act up against any PJ album besides Ten. That makes two of us. "Thumbing My Way" is total ownage.
Guest abowen33 Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 I'm gonna see them in St Louis on the VFC tour, 3rd row!!!!!
1234-5678 Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Maybe, but I have heard people say that (go back to sounding like Ten). I can support that claim, I've heard people say similar things. "They haven't been good since VS" is another one. I'm sure they have made good songs, I believe in Eddie Vedder's talents. I've never said "They haven't been good since VS." but I have said "I haven't cared since VS."
