Exslade ZX Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 It actually looks pretty cool IMO...a little different then a lot of the other stuff we've seen recently, and while not being the greatest or anything, it's not that bad. A lot better then that first Taboo Tuesday poster with the huge closeup of HHH.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Why is Spike on the poster?
RavishingRickRudo Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Harkens back to the Royal Rumble posters of the early 90's. In other words, it fucking rocks. Benoit, Big Show, and Flair are the 3 Tenors?
RavishingRickRudo Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Who is the guy above big show and below Eddie?
Styles Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Shelton Benjamin, Rudo. If he means the white guy I think that's Captain Charisma. EDIT: Woops, no that's Cena, just saw the chain around his neck. Hard to tell.
JoeDirt Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Pretty cool, it's different so that's good, and the old school Royal Rumble posters were always cool. Of course the 2001 Rumble has a pimp cover as well, with the same idea. Do you guys think they'll do any old school Survivor Series matches like last year? I like the idea of each brand having at least one match like that, at least to keep the tradition alive.
Lil' Bitch Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 They should have used it for the 05 Rumble poster instead.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Seeing the poster made me think they should do an animated show. WWE THE ANIMATED SERIES. It'd draw. Although HHH would have superman powers while everyone else was regular.
Guest Sturgis Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Who's above JBL amd below Flair/Edge?
Guest Loss Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 That would be the five-time WCW champion Booker T.
Guest Sturgis Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 I couldn't tell, that damn logo was in the way.
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Kinda resembles GTA artwork more than old Rumble posters (which it was cool when 2001 revisited that), but I see the connection. Pretty neat, although I thought Edge was Ultimate Warrior for a second.
humongous2002 Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 No RVD on it but Crapshaw made it on the cover, WWE still doesn't get it.
Lord of The Curry Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Best poster since Backlash 04.
AndrewTS Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 It looks like Edge is giving Ric a proctology exam. Taker looks like X-Pac after eating Big Show.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 No RVD on it but Crapshaw made it on the cover, WWE still doesn't get it. Well, Bradshaw kind of is the champion.
BHK Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 I love it But yeah, it would have been much better suited to the 2005 Royal Rumble. Is that Jericho between Orton and Triple H?
The Amazing Rando Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 ^ Yeah. And I agree it is the ROCK... WWE: San Andreas~
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Looks like it. Although, to me, it just looks like a 2nd HHH.
Guest Loss Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 So, if that poster were a piece of art meant to be interpreted about the state of the company, what would you think the artist is trying to say?
The Amazing Rando Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Well it's kinda sad that Batista is the tiniest guy on there and the Undertaker is just crowding everybody out like the demon on the mountain from the finale of Disney's Fantasia.
RavishingRickRudo Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 It's a mess. Seriously, they have Big Show ending up pretty tiny when his greatest asset is size, Batista and Benjamin are too small to even have a point in there, Benoit is seemingly putting on a submission but we aren't seeing pain on the opponents face (or any opponent), JBL is more hat than man, and none of the characters are looking towards the same thing. I looks so random, there is no theme. With the Aforementioned Royal Rumble posters, they'd all be walking towards you, ready to fight. The Survivor Series, at least what it used to be, was about team work. A collective focus. Here it looks like they're having a hard time defining anything at all. And Taker takes up WAAAY too much of the picture and its a rather throwaway "look". Rey has no purpose at all there and doesn't match up with any of the other wrestlers. He's just "flying" without purpose. A nice metaphor for the cruiserweight division. And there are no women, because there is no actual use for them in the WWE, it seems. And Flair is woo-ing, which is all he does these days. Maybe they should have had him taking a backdrop
razazteca Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Who is the guy between Eddie and Big Show?
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Shelton Benjamin, scroll up, already asked.
SamoaRowe Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 It's not the best drawn cover for a Pay-Per-View, but it's still pretty cool. I prefer this over the Taboo Tuesday poster with Triple H (though the Unforgiven poster with Kane was pretty cool). I think my favorite poster this year was still No Way Out '04.
