natey2k4 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Muhammed Hussan (a new Arabian character played by OVW's Mark Magnus) worked the RAW house shows over the weekend. Is this right? I thought WWE just signed some Arabian guy that was in RoH once or twice (Shawn Daviari or something).. or was that TNA? This guy did the rug thing as well, like Shawn Davari did in ToH.. so did they just give Mark Magnus his gimmick (who I believe, does NOT look Arabian) or did they just screw this up? So my question is: Is it Shawn Davari or Mark Magnus?
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 It's both of them, they're doing a tag team Arab gimmick.

Guest DeathBecomesYou Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Daivari will amount to nothing in WWE, Magnus though i'm not so sure. Aside from the fact he's still pretty green, he's not too bad, has a good look and charisma and can be carried. If the anti American gimmick doesn't kill him, he could be something in WWE. Guest Big Daddy V1 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 So now we have a French heel tag team AND an Arab terrorist heel tag team. Huzzah! Wait? There is more than one tag team on Smackdown? Now we get these Arab posers, Rene and Kenzo, Dud's and Basham's (4 heel, no face, I like)
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Hassan is Mark Magnus, he's been doing the gimmick in OVW for a few weeks. Daivari is his manager. Daivari is his partner. They do have a manager as well though. The original team was to be Magnus and Snuka Jr., but Vince decided upon a recent visit to OVW to keep Snuka as a solo wrestler. Daivari was hired pretty much because they wanted to run this gimmick.

Fro 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 The OVW angle hasn't really materialized yet, but Cornette doesn't have them speaking Arabic and wearing turbans, etc. They're all in suits, kinda like the Nation of Islam. They've only done some very brief appearances (kinda pseudo-shoot where they barge in and Magnus yells at Cornette, then a bunch of security and wrestlers immediately come in and start beating them up and they cut to a break about 5 seconds later). It's been an incredible angle, so I fully expect WWE to screw this up.
Guest Bad Brad Jacobs Report post Posted September 28, 2004 I saw him in action against Maven this sunday and he looked pretty good. Good build, and good charisma. Him and Gene Snitsky were both decent, but Simon Dean stole the show easily. He drew more heel heat than anyone other than Christian (and maybe Muhammed) all night. The usual huge heels got face pops and Kane was playing face, so I suppose its not surpising.

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 He had a dark match tonight. I was kind of pissed that the crowd booed him just for being Muslim (serious heat for praising Allah and pulling out a carpet and praying) before he even did anything heelish. Daivari sounds more like an Persian name than an Arabic name, from what I know of that stuff, but details like the Iraq-Iran blood feud haven't stopped them before. I was kind of pissed that the crowd booed him just for being Muslim (serious heat for praising Allah and pulling out a carpet and praying) before he even did anything heelish. By that logic that'll make him a face in my country....Nah. Probably he did those things to actually get heel heat (that's kinda sad, I guess). Muslims don't really walk around saying 'Praise Allah' and drag along a prayer mat all the time. How do I know this? Because I am a muslim. However, I remember laughing at the Lo Down+Tiger Ali Singh coalition. I mean, you got a Sikh leading the group with two other guys wearing Arab-like clothes (I think so) leading them in a Hindu-like prayer before each match. It's just plain ridiculous. Poor D'Lo. natey2k4 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 Poor D'Lo?... Chaz was DEFINATELY the one with the charisma in that tag team.. And believe it or not.. I thought Lo Down was a very good tag team until they went to the Arab gimmick, which was done poorly. The Tearaway wearing boys were great.
BrokenTiger 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 Perhaps your're right about Chaz in that regard...I'm simply bias because D'Lo used to be entertaining to me (well, long before that ponit, I guess). Lo Down was decent before that...before that talentless Tiger Ali Singh came along. A Tiger Ali Singh and X-Pac tag team would cause the universe to implode. Sorry, just a sick thought of mine. Little known facts about Lo Down: they also didn't work Fridays after sundown, like the Jews, and they buried their dead on towers to leave the corpse to be eaten by vultures, like the Zoroastrians. They were one big Middle East sampler.
