Guest Harry, Archie and Gus Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 Sorry, I'm probably really late getting around to this, but what happened to Scott Keith's rants? Has he moved his rants from 411 to some other site? Just curious. On the otherhand, I am not in the least curious whether you like SK or not. Thanks for any info.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 I could take this one but I don't like to start arguments in threads.
JoeDirt Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 He has his own blog at www.livejournal.com/~rspwfaq and that's all I know.
Slayer Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 TSM Rule #1: Do not talk about Scott Keith Rule #2: DO NOT talk about Scott Keith
Guest Danny Dubya v 2.0 Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 It's far too late. You're all excommunicated from the church of Scooter hatred you filthy little sinners! You'll have to travel the mountains barefoot with a giant ball and chain and backpacks with one boulder apiece to get home now.
Jingus Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 What, nunya could just answer the guy's question? Scott Keith, along with half the 411 staff, recently jumped to their own new site, Inside Pulse, where Keith still does Raw rants and Hyatte is still... well... Hyatte.
Guest Danny Dubya v 2.0 Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 What, nunya could just answer the guy's question? No. No, we couldn't. Thank you for willfully stepping in and getting the dirty deed of making oneself care enough to find and post the link done and over with, without you the fellow would've had to find the damn site on his own and be a tad bit self-dependent =P
theintensifier Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 What doesn't TSM like Scott Keith? Serious question.
Black Lushus Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 I've disliked Scott Keith way before the TSM days....way back when he was netcop or whatever that gibberish he called himself was...Back then his reviews were in depth and all but I didn't like how he tried to be "Negative Critic With The Witty Cracks" guy, you could so totally tell he wanted that schtick and that reputation and was trying oh so hard to get it. Basically like, hey internet look at me, I'm hardcore with my reviews, someone notice so I can be as big time as Meltzer...nowadays he doesn't even try with his reviews, he just phones them in, basically, gives you half ass reviews and is negative about EVERYTHING...
Slayer Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 That and after you see an actual pic of him, you just can't take him seriously anymore
Black Lushus Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 You know, in all these years I have never actually seen that guy, but I always assumed he fit one of the several stereotypical classes for a wrestling fan...
Guest Loss Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 The problem with Scott Keith is that all he does is play-by-play with snowflakes and people have the nerve to call him a match reviewer. The main problem with Scott Keith is that more people around here read him instead of Chris Coey or DVDVR, and he's considered the standard bearer of wrestling reviews by too many people. Since he doesn't write for this site, it's annoying when he's brought up on a regular basis simply because he should be flying right under the radar. What makes him more discussion worthy than, say, Mr. Tito? As for the initial thread question, you should have either e-mailed Scott Keith or posted this question at the 411 boards. This site has nothing to do with him.
strummer Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 Can someone tell me why this board hates Scott Keith so much? I know it has something to do with him being a "dictator" at the old smarkboard. What happened?

I think bringing up Keith issues on this board are just a matter of habit as many of us are mainstays from his tenure...just as continuing to read his drivel is...yeah I slam him yet I still read...guess I'm hoping he gets better, I need to stop wasting my time! I agree with Loss here, even though I'm guilty of contributing to it, there are way too many threads open right now on this guy...
cawthon777 Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 You know, in all these years I have never actually seen that guy, but I always assumed he fit one of the several stereotypical classes for a wrestling fan... Think Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons.
alfdogg Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 He's also in nikjohns' avatar. I could take this one but I don't like to start arguments in threads
Guest Loss Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 This Chris Coey, what site is he on? http://www.airraidcrash.com

I know it has something to do with him being a "dictator" at the old smarkboard. What happened? I could care less about all of that. I don't like him because he doesn't know his ass from his elbow in terms of good wrestling. He was supposedly a dictator at the old forum, but I was too busy not paying attention to the board's self obsession at the time to remember what the details were.

Umm, Loss, why stop at good wrestling for things Scooter wouldn't his ass from his elbow about? -=Mike
Guest Harry, Archie and Gus Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 What, nunya could just answer the guy's question? Scott Keith, along with half the 411 staff, recently jumped to their own new site, Inside Pulse, where Keith still does Raw rants and Hyatte is still... well... Hyatte. Thanks a lot! Wow! I assumed that by saying I didn't care whether or not you like Scott Keith would have saved us from all of this. Again, I could care less if you like Scott Keith. I personally enjoy his rants. I certainly don't always agree with him, but he has a unique voice and view, and I respect his insight. And wow what a shocker 'Scott Keith is ugly'. Take a look at the fans in the audience of any wrestling show (best eg. an IWAMS crowd). Not a real pretty bunch.
Guest netslob Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 Can someone tell me why this board hates Scott Keith so much? I know it has something to do with him being a "dictator" at the old smarkboard. What happened? basically, at the old smarkboard, Scooter started throwing his (considerable) weight around and began banning people left and right for disagreeing with him. the main issue at the time, that i remember, were posting titles and post counts. on the old board, they set it up so that the more posts you made, the higher the position you were in. for example, when you joined, wou were a "jobber". after 50 posts, you were a "curtain jerker", after 150, you were a "lower mid-carder" and so on. some people liked this, some didn't. those who didn't became vocal about it, saying they felt looked down on by "Upper-carders" and "Main Eventers" or something to that effect. to solve this, Keith just eliminated the whole thing. then the people who liked the concept began to complain. they would start threads complaining about it, often politley, and rather then explain the situatuion in a civil manner, Keith simply banned them. friends of the people being ban would rush to their defense, asking Keith where he got off, and were banned in turn. i was one of them. i told him he was being a prick about the whole thing, and that he blew it out of proportion. he replied with something to the effect of "aww, did we do away with your poor widdle post titles? well don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out" and banned me. that's my story, i don't know why others don't like him, but i remember he banned like 10 to 20 people over that issue alone. alot of them migrated over to WDI and here when it became available. so basically, Scooter's a douche-bag with an ego dwarfed only by his hair. so there you go.
therealworldschampion Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 He killed himself when he looked in the mirror
geniusMoment Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 I will read Keith because he has a review of basically every wrestling ppv ever done by WWF/E, WCW and ECW. I do not want to search around the web for reviews of individual shows, I want them all in one place.

Wow if that isnt the biggest ripoff of 411 i dont know what is.... and Mr. Tito > Skeith, by far.
haws bah gawd Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 I get a laugh out of Scott Keith every now and then. Just as long as I try not to think of what the guy actually looks like, I can take his reviews a little more seriously. I do think he gets too much heat from the IWC sometimes, but I wasn't around during his netcop days. About Mr. Tito, I have one major gripe about him. He is usually fair in his show reviews, but he turns a blind eye to one particular thing that really gets on my nerves. He is such a mark for Kurt Angle, that anytime a rumor comes up about him being a dick backstage, he is the first to shoot down the rumors or defend him. And of course, any match involving Kurt Angle almost always becomes "the greatest match ever". Now, if something comes up about HHH being an asshole like usual, he has no problem talking about that. But Heaven forbid Kurt Angle be anything less than a model citizen. Maybe I'm the only person that this really irritates.
Guest Rrrsh Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 Keith is the same to Benoit. Benoit is God, no matter who he is facing. Plus Keith's hate for Orton and love for Batista (as exapmles, he hates many people) can get in the way of him reviewing matches if they both face a similar opponent around teh same time (which they did alot recently)
