JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 The name of WWE's new January PPV, set to emanate from Puerto Rico has been revealed as "New Year's Revolution." The show takes place on 1/5/05. Ticketmaster.com and WWE.com list a RAW taping for Friday, November 26, the day after Thanksgiving. It is not known if this is another case of WWE and Ticketmaster having erroneous data, or if WWE actually plans to tape RAW on a Friday. WWE normally takes Thanksgiving weekend off, and this is the first indication of any plans to change that tradition. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 The people in Puerto Rico might start rioting if they hear about a New Years Revolution coming there.. They should have just called it Wacky Wednesday!..and did some sort of WCW-esque Lethal Lottery Tournament.

Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 It's a good name, at any rate. EDIT: they should have called it "New Year's Evolution"
geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 They already have one revolutionary concept that has forever changed the face of wrestling, taboo tuesday, how much better can it get? This might be the most exciting news I have ever heard, WWE is going to revolutionize the wrestling world once again. WWE has been so creative in changing their product over the last few years, making sure their 6+ hours of television is fresh and entertaining. Gee, I sure hope the next coming of Hogan, Rock, Flair and Austin combined Randy Orton will be on this wonderful card. Hopefully HHH will wrestle HBK, I have always wondered what an extended feud would look like between these two greats. Maybe that hilarious retard will win, giving all of us an inspirational story, one that will put hope in the hearts of all. I cannot wait to see the developments in the characters of Rhyno, Tajiri, Hurricane, Rosey, La Resistance, Tomko, Venis and the entire undercard, it sure is a good thing WWE cares about the undercard so fans always get a nice full show. Just one thing, I hope they leave that overrated Jericho, and that boring Crippler fellow off the card, I just cannot take them anymore. -----------------------------------------------------------------------Sincerely, ---------------------------------------------------------------WWE SuperFan#

Quit Calling My Mama 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Why the fuck are they having a RAW PPV in Puerto Rico? Surely with the large hispanic fanbase for Smackdown it would make more sense to hold a Smackdown PPV there. Although that would kinda insinuate WWE management uses common sense. Fro 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Not to mention Carlito might actually, um, draw some people? Should be a rabid crowd though... hopefully they riot.
Only The Strong Survive 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Another January PPV? Did we forget about the ROYAL RUMBLE!? And Puerto Rico is a silly place to have it unless it's a Smackdown! show, or maybe they'll do a Raw show with Eddie and Rey or something just to keep people entertained. Whatever... I'm just glad I don't buy all of their PPV's, or even very many of them, for that matter.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Why the fuck are they having a RAW PPV in Puerto Rico? Maybe Puerto Rico, Hispanic population aside, would prefer to see some decent wrestling in the main event rather than JBL vs. (insert random name here). Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 I'm with Only the Strong... what the hell happened to the Royal Rumble? Did they cancel it because Pat Patterson is gone?
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Please don't cancel the Rumble, its the one show I usually enjoy every year-even if the winner is predictable. This whole thing reeks of bizzareness. To paraphrase The Rock "Vince, have you been smokin those funny cigarettes?" WOOHOO 600th POST!!!!
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted October 14, 2004 They won't cancel the rumble because Patterson left, besides Shane scripted most of the 2004 and 2003 rumble anyways. The rumble is traditionaly the #2 draw of the year, I think it even outdrew WM in 2003.
Guest bigm350 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Damn, these 24 PPV's a year are gonna put a hole in my pocket. If I actually gave a damn and ordered anything other than WM, Sur Ser, SS, or the RR.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 I believe the Rumble is scheduled for 1/30/05.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Before anyone asks, The superbowl isn't on that date like it used to be. The Superbowl is now the first sunday of Febuary.
Guest bigm350 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 When is Vince going to realize that these two PPV's a month, let alone PPV's on weeknights, are pointless?
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted October 14, 2004 I personally think they should put these shows(The weekday ones) on the 24/7 channel and make it a special deal "Buy this channel for $14.99 and not only get classic programing but you get a special 24/7 only PPV ! Not available on standard PPV or DVD!". It'd basically be a variation of Clash of the Champions.
spman 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 They'd never do that untill 24/7 had a wide enough potential audience to make it worth it, and that's still many years away from happening.
Promoter 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 The wwe loves to stretch things don't they. First stretching the talent with this brand extension and now this. You can only stretch a rubber band so much before it completely busts. I guess we should expect more rushed "created superstars" and "mindblowing storylines" to fill all these ppv hours.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted October 14, 2004 wouldn't be shocked to see this be another gimmick ppv of sorts, which doesn't make sense considering the rumble is the ULTIMATE gimmick ppv (since the Series 4/5 Vs 4/5 format is on and off every year)...and it would be the same month.
Promoter 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 I guess they can have it as a spin the wheel make a deal ppv where Bischoff allows Evolution to make the show. I mean, he was the man who allowed that fantastic January ppv No Souled Out into the homes of the world.
Ced 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Another midweek PPV? Is there a population of uberfans with a shitload of disposable income still watching the product that I'm unaware of?
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 They actually took that name from XPW. I swore I read somewhere that the reason Carlito got a call up into a major role was so that he could help draw people to the show, which would have made it an SD! PPV. Unless the coolness plans on heading to RAW anytime soon.
LatinAssasin 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 I doubt WWE ever researches before booking shows in places. They brought Smackdown here right before New Years. If they had checked first, they would have noticed that my city doesn't get UPN, so no one had any idea who was a heel/face/star. Midweek PPV's just won't work.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted October 14, 2004 You are aware Mid-week ppvs were done before the PPV boom occured.
