AmazingRen Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 I just got finished watching the shoot promo Paul Heymen did on Vince in 2001. That promo was so intense and everything thing he said was true. Here's a couple of quotes: "When Doink the Clown had a green hair and a rubber nose, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was drinking his first beer in ECW, damn you." "While Bobby Heenan and Gene Oakerland were dancing around singing tutti fruity, ECW was producing the edgy TV that you named "Attitude", Oh we got "Attitude", you've got nothing man. What you stole was my life, my money, my legacy. What was the best WWE segment you've ever seen?
David Blazenwing Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 The Rock/Hurricane backstage segments from early 2003. Pure gold.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 If video packages count, the History of the WWF. If not, then I'll go with ECW reforming.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Best ones.... Michaels during the "Sunny Days" comment Bret/Perfect segment from KOTR 93 The Brooklyn Brawler/Red Rooster one from SNME <-----best one ever.

Michaels during the "Sunny Days" comment Bret/Perfect segment from KOTR 93 The Brooklyn Brawler/Red Rooster one from SNME <-----best one ever. Kido, the Red Rooster/Brawler segment that originally took place on Prime Time? The one with Gorilla? If so, IN COMPLETE AGREEMENT. I mentioned this segment in the "Funniest Moments that weren't supposed to be Funny" thread. I will say it again, that is probably the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life.

There is nothing quite as funny as Terry Taylor geting hit with a padded stool and selling it like a Balls Mahoney chair shot.
MillenniumMan831 Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 If video packages count, the History of the WWF. No argument here. No matter how shitty the live Raws have been in the last few years, I always have a huge smile whenever they play that video before the matches begin. Totally awesome to see which old/new timers get pops and who don't. Just a wonderful video.
strummer Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Monsoon's selling MAKES the segment, the awkward bump he takes is just so damn funny, I wish everyone on the board could see this segment, it's that good

AmazingRen Posted October 26, 2004 Author Report Posted October 26, 2004 Other segments I liked were: Austin and Rock confrontation when they were singing with each other- This is when the crowd finally caught on with Austin's "What" chant Booker T eating one of Debra's cookies- His facial expresses were priceless Rock and Jericho making fun of Stephanie's Implants The Rock making Terri think he wants to have sex with her The Alliance singing "Hero" to Austin while the Titan Tron has his head bouncing with the words Kurt Angle wanting to replace Undertaker's Motorcycle with a Scooter HHH questioning Kurt Angle's sexuality
iliketurtles Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 The best segment, in my opinion, is the Hulk Hogan/Rock confrontation in Chicago on Monday Night Raw after No Way Out 2002. It's were it really all began...again.

Guest JericholicEdgeHead Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 A Few that come to mind: Piper's Pit with Jimmy Snuka -the cocanut smash (May 1984) Anytime Roddy Piper was on TNT in 1984/85 when he slaps Lord Alfred Hayes on one show and slaps Capt. Lou Albano on another. Paul Orndorff turning on Hogan on Championship Wrestling (Summer 1986)

Australian Pride Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 My Favourite - the Austin/Angle/McMahon skits from 2001. From hugging, to bad singing and wearing miniature cowboy hats, they were a crack up.

It's funny, but it ain't the greatest segment ever. Yeah, seeing Monsoon fall over due to a stool shot from the Brroklyn Brawler is humorous, but nothing worth rewinding and watching again and again and again. Just my .02
Lt. Al Giardello Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Kurt Angle's "weird al mtv" interview with the Rock at No Mercy 2000. Stone Cold chasing Booker T through the church, and the lady who confesses to Booker T in the confession stand. Booker T and Goldust reviewing Scorpion King. Booker T/Goldust/The Rock at King of the Ring 2002. The Rock dissing Hall, Nash and Hogan at No Way Out 2002.
Guest JebusNassedar Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 One word: Showster. If someone says that the Showster doesnt count, I'll have to go with The Naton mockery or Brock and Eddie's "You are No One" promo.
Guest momoracci Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Chris Jericho's debut on the 8/9/99 Raw.

It's were it really all began...again. Holy fuck. I was there live for that, and the energy in the Rosemont was unbelieveable. During the beatdown of Rock, Hall's pop for the Razor's Edge was INSANE.
LucharesuFan619 Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Hogan/Rock staredown face-to-face before WrestleMania on RAW (night after No Way Out).
Papacita Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Stone Cold chasing Booker T through the church, and the lady who confesses to Booker T in the confession stand. I forgot all about that. That had me dying. As for best segment ever...I'm surprised no one's mentioned Austin's ambulance attack on Bret Hart back in 97. Bret's post-cage match tirade prior to WM13 is also up there, as was Vader's attack on Gorilla Monsoon. Edit: Can't forget the Guerreros/Angle/Benoit segments during the SD6 era with Eddie and Kurt trying to convince Benoit that they didn't attack him, with Benoit just staring at them all the while.

I figured by that time they were starting to run out of ideas. Austin's selling of the attack was pretty funny though.
Guest Rrrsh Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 The 2001 Heyman promo is #1 in my books.
JJMc Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Chris Jericho's debut on the 8/9/99 Raw. I'll drink to that. Fucking great.
Hoff Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 (edited) Got to agree, althoguh I'm biased because I saw it live. Holyfield's Ear mentioned Booker T and Goldust "At The Movies" -- that's one of the all-time great humor bits they've ever done. Hell, Booker and Dustin were on fire that summer. Remember when Booker T started ripping on HBK's music? "BOOK! BOOK! BOOK! I'm just a Booker T, BOOOO-KER TEEE-EEEEE! I'm not yo' sucka, SUCK-AAAAAA-AAAAAA!" The entire group, Nash, Waltman, and Book himself, NONE of them could keep from laughing. For me, that really makes a segment neat, when it's so funny the performers can't hold their emotions in. Other good humor promos: - Austin's the night (I believe) after Vengeance '01, when he went through his meal at the Sonic Drive-In (I had a chilidog! "WHAT!" A jalapeno cheeseburger! "WHAT!" Fries! "WHAT!" Onion rings! "WHAT!"). Definitely, for me, the best promo of the "What" era. - Kane's promo with Rock and Hogan, where he ripped them both off and introduced us to his "Kanenites." Rock's facials were great. - DX's invasion of WCW was, of course, both humorous and historic. - Kurt Angle detailing to his rival/partner HHH about how "H cubed, plus I cubed, is greater than D cubed." Kurt: "I can go slower if you want." For a "serious" promo, though, I have to agree that nothing beats Heyman semi-shooting on McMahon on the SD before Survivor Series '01. That's the only promo I have on tape -- I mean, I have a tape with just that specifically on it. Just amazing passion from Heyman. And the best promos that nobody remembers? O'Haire's "devil's advocate" promos. O'Haire is a creepy-looking mo'fo, and he just...looked like the devil. He, shall we say, "exuded evil." Just tremendous work. EDIT: Oh! How could I forget! Rock and Austin singing on the Raw before the '01 series. Remember, both were the leaders for their respective factions, and they had one of the greatest rivalries in some time, so to see them do a duet cover of "Margaritaville" -- and then raise each other's hands -- just surreal. And Rock ended it so beautifully, saying "The Rock will never forget" and pulling Austin into a Rock Bottom...it just...it did SO much to help that dying angle...shame it was too late. *single tear* Edited October 27, 2004 by Hoff
