AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 The big argument is who is the greatest rapper ever, Biggie or 2Pac? Easy answer is neither, cuz it's Chuck D. "I ventured into the courtyard Followed by 52 brothers Bruised, battered, and scarred but hard Goin' out with a bang Ready to bang out But power from the sky And from the tower shots rang out A high number of dose - yes And some came close Figure I trigger my steel Stand and hold my post This is what I mean - an anti-nigger machine If I come out alive and then they won't - come clean And then I threw up my steel bullets - flew up Blew up, who shot... What, who, the bazooka was who And to my rescue, it was the S1Ws Secured my getaway, so I just gotaway The joint broke, from the black smoke Then they saw it was rougher thatn the average bluffer 'Cause the steel was black, the attitude exact Now the chase is on tellin' you to c'mon 53 brothers on the run, and we are gone"
ant_7000 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 Chuck D is up there in the top 10, but I wouldn't say he's G.O.A.T.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 The big argument is who is the greatest rapper ever, Biggie or 2Pac? Easy answer is neither, cuz it's Chuck D. Why do you cleverly answer a question nobody asked? 2Pac isn't near the best ever, but Biggie is. Near, though I don't know if he is. His death helped, because he didn't get a chance to fall off like, oh... Ice Cube.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Scott Steiner's was a big fan of that album.....afterall he stole his catchphrase from this album. Actually, "Holla if ya hear me" is from Pac's second album, Strictly for my Niggaz. I am an old school Tupac fan more so than his newer Death Row stuff. Favs of mine Brenda's got a Baby If my Homie's Call Holler if ya Hear me Papa's Song I Get Around Something Wicked this way Comes Me Against the World Dear Mama His first Death Row album as a whole was alright, but I am a bigger mark for the older material. The Makeveli album is overrated IMO. I think Suge and Co. rushed the production of it to capatalize on Pac's death more so than make a good album. There's only 2 songs on that album worth a damn anyways. (Bonnie and Clyde, Hail Mary)
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Actually, I think the Makeveli album was one of the best hip hop albums with a real "artistic" approach about it. The album was like a movie on wax type deal with a great deal of music sounding different. There was a lot of different versions of "Pac" on that album showing some more versatility that we never got to see enough of with Tupac. It also was the first showing of the new direction that he was moving in with his newer material.

Goblin, Cube wouldn't be in my or most people's top ten. That is people that have heard a vast majority of rap music since it's inception. He's top 25..........but not top 10. B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Cube's flow is just about average, but it's his delivery and tone that gets him high rating in people's eyes. At least that's what I think. I wouldn't put Cube in my top ten though. Off the top of my head I'd put (in no order, except for Rakim at the top): Rakim KRS-One Nas Tupac Big Daddy Kane Jay-Z Big L Biggie Chuck D Posdnous(possibly)

Well he is in my top 10. Ignoring the fact that he was basically the guy who made NWA good(he did write rhymes for everyone, bar MC Ren), you have to realize that he made one of the best rap CD's ever released(AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted) and that he had 2 other great CD's(Death Certificate,Predator). That's a good catalogue along wiht other solid-good stuff. Only major weakness on his resume is War and Peace. Top 10 Ever are(in no order): Rakim KRS One Big Daddy Kane 2 Pac Nas Ice Cube Jay Z Chuck D Common Notorious BIG
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 The Kill At Will EP is also on par with AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, though you neglect to mention Lethal Injection, which was average at best. Here are my top ten. I like what I like.
