syxx2001 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Everyone has one. What are some of the things you have seen on tv or in a movie that the world has LOLed at but you sit and go "WTF?". For me it has to be the Rick James skit on Chappelle's Show. Its a little funny but everyone thought/thinks its just drop dead hilarious. To me the Prince skit was funnier.
KingPK Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Family Guy and Norm MacDonald. Bob Barron now wishes me dead.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 For me it's the entire Chappelle's show. I like Dave and all, but I just can't get into it...
Nighthawk Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I wasn't aware the world thought Norm MacDonald was funny. He seemed like a niche guy to me. I think my answer is most things. I very rarely enjoy heralded comedy, and the comedy I do like is generally very fringe stuff which nobody else gets.
BUTT Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I agree, I never thought the Rick James skit was that funny. The Wayne Brady skit, now that was hilarious. I personally don't find Adam Sandler movies that funny. I think Ebert pinpointed the big problem in one of his reviews - acting stupid isn't funny if the person acting stupid knows they're acting stupid. Then, in my opinion, it just becomes like your friend acting stupid to make you laugh - which may be funny in person, but not when you're supposed to accept the reality of the characters on screen.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I normally didn't find the Christopher Guest movies funny, until Mighty Wind. I didn't find Being John Malkovich to be funny either, just annoying.
Tawren Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Seinfeld. It is NOT FUNNY. "Hey look Jerry, I met a girl!" "But she has a small amount of hair behind her ears." "Oh no, I better debate whether or not that is okay for 30 minutes." Audience: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NO. SHUT THE FUCK UP. YOU SUCK. Jesus christ.
Guest BrokenWings Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Curb Your Enthusiasm Everybody Loves Raymond
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Any motherfuckin comedy series on ABC, NBC, CBS, WB and especially UPN!! AHHHHH!! also The Simpson (past) funny and clever The Simpson (present) unfunny and stupid
Special K Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Kings of comedy. Got great reviews, was pretty damn bad standup. M*A*S*H. Liked the movie, HATED the show. Oh, and Dude where's my car? That was an abomination. The ONLY remotely funny parts were the parts they showed in the commercial. I HATE it when that happens. That movie SUCKS.
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 M*A*S*H. Liked the movie, HATED the show. Yeah. the tv show seem more serious than funny to me
Vern Gagne Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Fart and Poop jokes if funny at all, they get old fast.
Guest Fook Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Friends Does anyone here find Friends funny? Anyone? Bueller? To me, Everybody Loves Raymond just isn't funny. I also find Futurama overrated. It is funny, but it's not a comedic masterpiece.
2GOLD Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Friends Seinfeld American Pie series Saturday Night Live, the most painfully unfunny thing on television now MAD TV, second only to SNL in painfully unfunny That would be the short list.
Damaramu Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Friends Does anyone here find Friends funny? Anyone? Bueller? To me, Everybody Loves Raymond just isn't funny. I also find Futurama overrated. It is funny, but it's not a comedic masterpiece. I enjoy Friends. And Seinfeld. Just go the DVD's to.
starvenger Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I wasn't aware the world thought Norm MacDonald was funny. He seemed like a niche guy to me. He is, and I think he's actually more sarcastic than funny. Does anyone here find Friends funny? Anyone? Bueller? <raises hand> The early seasons were pretty consistently funny, the last few not so much. Neilsens would seem to indicate that people think Leno is funny. I've no idea why...
claydude14 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Friends Seinfeld American Pie series Saturday Night Live, the most painfully unfunny thing on television now MAD TV, second only to SNL in painfully unfunny That would be the short list. You'd seriously put MAD TV over SNL? I've always hated MAD TV and liked SNL, but can't say I'm watching either of them currently so if MAD has surpassed SNL, that's sad. Anyhow, Napolean Dynamite wasn't funny and everyone I know loves it. It only had a few good one liners.
Crimson Platypus Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Slapstick in general just does nothing for me. The last 5 or so years of SNL, unfunny. Leno, horribly unfunny. Colin Quinn - can't stand him at all. (do people think he's funny? seems to always be on TV)
SamoaRowe Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I really don't like Friends. I get a kick out of Seinfeld, but I'm a casual viewer of that program primarily. I'm not sure why everyone seems to love Aqua Team Hunger Force so much. It has it's moments, but it's not the hilarity that it's been made out to be.
Guest theanswer1824 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 tough crowd: most overrated show. everyone is funny except Colin. I always make out his jokes before he does, the bumbling idiot.
Guest Smues Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Family Guy Jim Carry Will Ferral Seinfeld SNL Friends Jay Leno
eiker_ir Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 i never found Monty Python THAT funny. It's good but nothing amazing.
muzz Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I dont think I've talked to anyone who likes Jay Leno. I can't stand him either. I've never really found Mad TV to be funny (except for a choice few of the cast like Phil Lamaar). I don't get the total Seinfeld dislike, but then again I'm not bombarded with all the sitcoms down here so I can still get into them.
