Things you dont find funny

Recommended Posts

I always preferred the UK version...mostly because the show wasn't about the host.

That always bugged me on the US version. Carey would always explain that the winner got to do something with him...and then the winner just sat at the desk while Carey and the other 3 did something. The shit?

I just can't enjoy ATHF or Sealab 2021 all that much. To me, they drip with the sentiment of trying too hard. More than anything else, "look how wacky and unpredictably random this is!" humor pisses me off.

ATHF I find hilarious, but except for a handful of eps, Sea Lab is shit IMO.

Napoleon Dynamite...I saw it just cause everyone told me how great it was. I laughed small a couple of times, but throughout almost the entire movie I was just getting annoyed that people thought this crap was funny.

Drew Carey is awful, as was his show.

Leno

Friends

Bernie Mac is okay sometimes, but largely the Original Kings suck

That fucking Blue Collar TV clique

Ray Romano/Everybody Loves Raymond

Kevin James/King of Queens

MadTV

Overall, SNL is terrible

Hell, all your atypical sitcoms are generally wretched.

Drew Carey was an uninspired if passable sitcom for a few years, then, with an endless parade of gimmick episodes and many other things it became one of the worst shows I can think of.

I forgot about Mike Myers, he makes my list. And Michael Ian Black would have been #1 by far on my list, but I didn't anyone thought he was funny, other then himself.

Seinfeld, definitely. Probably the most overrated television show in the entire history of television. Yeah - it's THAT overrated. I've tried to find humor in this show, and have literally watched dozens of episodes, by myself and with others, and though I know people who love the show, I've sat through each and every episode absolutely stonefaced.

Whoever said Kids in the Hall......I can see your point of view, as some of the humor is a little.....offbeat...but I consider it a classic sketch comedy show.

The Blue Collar Comedy Tour: it's kind of odd, but the funniest one out of that sorry lot is Ron White, who you NEVER hear from on that stupid show of theirs (it's always the fucking "Cable Guy" tool).

Since someone mentioned Mike Myers, I'll say the Austin Powers films.

I never saw three, but I literally watched the first two saying "why the hell was I supposed to watch these again?"

That character just fucking annoys me.

Austin Powers for me: hilarious the first time I watch it, by the time I'm out of the theater I'm saying "That was the stupidest thing I ever saw, fuck anyone who likes it." Very short shelf life.

For the record, I think Seinfeld is funny, but it's not the funniest show ever. It's been vastly overrated and overblown by fans of the show.

Tough Crowd is the only show that I can think of that I actively hate.

The Blue Collar guys by a mile. Everyone at my high school love them all especially Larry The Cable Guy. Quoting that godawful "Git R Done" catchphrase over and over again. Then my whole family loves the tour and even watches Blue Collar TV. None of them humor me in the least and Blue Collar TV is one of the most horrid television shows that I've come across in quite some time.

Fact: At my high school, the class of 2004's senior quote was "Git-R-Done". The valedictorian, who most everyone knows has applied for membership to the Ku Klux Klan, masterfully worked it into his speech.

The musical numbers and gimmick shows were fine to start, but once Drew and Kate got together, and then broke up, the writing just went into the dumps. That was also the time when Christa Miller fell from hot to good looking (she's recovered a bit, though).

Anyone who dislikes Seinfeld is on the crizack pizipe.

My list:

--Colin Quinn - WORST COMEDIAN EVER. Only about 1/10th of his jokes are even somewhat funny in theory, but considering he stutters and ruins like 99 out of 100 of them, his efficiency as a comedian is like..0.00003%.

--Billy Crystal - just why?

--Redneck Comedy Tour - LAME.

--Jay Leno - His writers are terribly hit and miss, and many 'hits' are ruined by Jay's terrible delivery.

--Dave Letterman - I hate including this here because this is a classic show from my youth, but looking at him now and I'm like whoa..he's not very good.

--ALMOST EVERY PRIMETIME NETWORK SHOW IN THE PAST TEN YEARS.

There are so many more but I'll have to leave it that.

Kids in the Hall doesn't apply to this because more people dislike it then like it. "So are like all of them gay with each other or something? This is dumb." Geez

Whose Line UK = comedy goodness

Whose Line US = suck. My reward would be not having to do things with Drew Carey.

Family Guy is great, shut up, non-believers. I fear that the new episodes won't be funny though.

anyway

ATHF, I didn't get it. I'm not hip enough I guess.

Friends, I hate it. I'm not fucking dumb enough I guess.

Git-R-Done Guy, fuck him. I'm not redneck enough I guess.

I find Seinfeld the show funny but I don't find Jerry Seinfeld the comedian funny.

I think that was an issue with a lot of people. Around the time the show was ending, we had to do these polls for one of my classes and I did one on favorite people in Seinfeld and NO ONE voted for Jerry. I asked about 100 people. Of course there were a lot of George and Kramers, but then there were some George's Dad, Soup Nazi, Newman, random supporting ones, no one picked Jerry.

And Amen on the hate to the Blue Collar Gang. I find a lot of stupid stuff funny, but I cannot stand them at all. Larry the Cable Guy is definately the worst too and people who actually use Get-R-Done should be pushed into speeding traffic.

add me to the Drew Carey hate His show started out fine, but then it turned into the "which hot girl does Drew bang this week, to hell with reality, I have a lot of money and am going to do whatever the hell I want" show. Drew turned into the male version of Brett Butler or Roseanne, he let success get into his head and he started to make his show about his character getting laid and making lame beer jokes all the time. The show, in the same vein as Roseanne, was about a middle class guy struggling to survive and his reaction to all the madness surrounding him. But once Drew became popular in real life, then all of a sudden in his show he's making out with hot chicks all the time and talking about getting laid for 22 minutes. No one was going to buy that with a guy like Drew in the lead, and the show died as a result. And the gimmicks killed it to. but it was mostly Drew's increasing ego.

People who like Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Howard Stern and laugh track sitcoms deserve a fucking kick in the temple. Those shows repeat themselves so much it feels like you're trapped in a vortex of suck.

As for not finding things funny, I've never really liked the UK Whose Line, Benny Hill, Crank Yankers, the Blue Collar guys(except Ron White- he rules), SNL nowadays, as well as everything mentioned above.

I'll say the Austin Powers films.

A big problem with the first AP movie with me is that my classmates (was a senior in HS at the time) were all quoting assorted stupid shit from the movie so damn much ("Yeah baby!") that it really made me not want to see it.

I had the same problem with Seinfeld. There was this group of assholes in my class quoting shit from it all the time thinking they were all funny... god I hated them, and they made me hate Seinfeld. I don't hate it anymore though, but I am apathetic about it.

Kevin James/King of Queens

Blasphemy. I know it's not cool to like sitcoms, but I think a lot of the storylines are fresh, and I think it's very well cast. James is one of my favorite comedians, too. He relies too much on the fat and food jokes at times, but he's got more appeal than that. I used to watch Raymond over that, but after watching King of Queens more often, I can barely sit through Raymond.

I, too, never have found Crank Yankers funny. Female comedians suck, too. They're so limited in what they talk about it's ridiculous. You'd swear to god if there weren't periods or sex, female comedians wouldn't exist.

Female comedians suck, too.

Well, not ALL of them, in their defense... but really, only a small percentage of women presented as "comediennes" are actually funny, IMO

Essentially, John Belushi was right.

Are you telling me Howard Stern ALWAYS has strippers and porn stars on his show? I'm SHOCKED...

Whose Line UK = comedy goodness

Whose Line US = suck. My reward would be not having to do things with Drew Carey.

Pretty much my take on things. Clive > Drew, plus the UK version could do things that ABC wouldn't, like stick Phil LaMarr in as a guest and not have Wayne Brady on every single show. Don't get me wrong, I think Wayne is very talented, but we didn't need to hear the guy sing all the time.

Female comedians... well I like Kathleen Madigan and Wendy Liebman (no, seriously), and Kathy Greenwald is a talented improv actor. That's about it, I think.

I never found Seinfeld funny, especially Elaine (very annoying). Though I think Seinfeld's stand-up is hilarious.

Malcolm in the Middle I find not funny at all, and neither is King of the Hill. I mean it was good for a bit, and there are some good episodes, but nothing leaps out, and makes me LOL.

Andrew Dice Clay, completly unfunny at all.
