Eclipse Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 According to the latest edition 'The Diamond Weekly', one of Japan's premier economic weeklies, Nintendo's upcoming console will be revolutionary indeed. The Nintendo Revolution is supposed to lack a D-pad and A/B buttons! Nintendo has stressed out that the Revolution would indeed involve a whole new gaming experience, but removing the most recognizable controls... The Diamond Weekly did not mention any other details about the Nintendo Revolution, nor did Nintendo officially react on the rumours yet. And thus, the wait for E3 2005 continues... gamefront.de Nintendo is truly trying to start a new gaming revolution! How in the hell is their next system going to be controlled? The speculation begins now...
fazzle Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Well, with the wild success of Mario Party 6, they've decided to make the whole system microphone controlled! "4" "Did you say 8?" "No" "Did you say 18?" "No" "I couldn't hear what you said, please try again" INNOVATIVE!
Eclipse Posted December 21, 2004 Author Report Posted December 21, 2004 Well, I remember reading something that the Nintendo DS will be able to interact with the Revolution. Maybe it has to do something with that?
Lightning Flik Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 So basically, its the EXACT same thing they tried with the Gamecube and GBASP. Wonderful idea. Simply wonderful. Although I am curious as to find out what the hell is up with that. No d-pad or A/B buttons? Better be a hell of an idea by Nintendo here. And the system's concept name is Revolution? Or is the actual system now being called Revolution?
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Those drums with the Donkey Kong game. They will control everything.
fazzle Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Those drums with the Donkey Kong game. They will control everything. I'd buy it.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 another good one would be if every game were run like DDR. Now that I could get behind.
DrVenkman PhD Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Nintendo Power Pad and Power Glove 2.0!
Slayer Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Well, with the wild success of Mario Party 6, they've decided to make the whole system microphone controlled! "4" "Did you say 8?" "No" "Did you say 18?" "No" "I couldn't hear what you said, please try again" "I have lip fungus"
Golgo 13 Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 I don't think Revolution is the official name yet. As of now it's still a codename, like the Dolphin was to the GC. And has anyone here heard of an analog stick? Nintendo never said anything about ditching that, just the d-pad. Considering that more games put an emphasis on the more versatile stick and encourage you to use that, and not the d-pad, it makes some sense that it'll be phased out eventually.
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Nintendo will be getting rid of the A/B buttons and debut the new high tech gaming technology... buttons 1 and 2!
Slayer Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Or they could use shapes! ....nevermind
Golgo 13 Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Truthfully, I was thinking more, uglier colors for all the action buttons.
AndrewTS Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 And the system's concept name is Revolution? Or is the actual system now being called Revolution? I guess "Revolution" is the new "Project Reality."
Lightning Flik Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 ...project reality? *thinks, yet doesn't get it* Its on the tip of my brain, but because the brain is on vacation at this time, it ain't coming. Help me out. Seriously though, this had better be a Revolutionary idea, otherwise Nintendo just fucked away whatever powers they have left.

Eclipse Posted December 21, 2004 Author Report Posted December 21, 2004 The whole thing sounds gimmicky, but hopefully, it doesn't become TOO gimmicky. I like the concept though.
Lightning Flik Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 (edited) Project Reality was the code for the N64. ...please tell me that my Ultimate Gamer card is now revoked. ...the wait for next year's E3 begins. Edited December 21, 2004 by Lightning Flik
Ced Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Fuck everything else. It's all about the return of the U-Force!
Skywarp! Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Maybe you play with an X-Men style Cerebro helmet. Anything you wish Mario to do, think it and he will do it. In the hands of adolescents, Mario's going to be doing a whole lot of fucking.
The Amazing Rando Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Nintendo will be controlled in a manner similiar to Amok Time. You will battle the CPU in a fight to the death, with the winner being declared the "Alpha" Player, and thusly gaining a 1 Up and thereby being able to populate the Mushroom Kingdom with the superior seed. Either that....or it's the return of VIRTUAL NINTENDO~
Scroby Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 I know this is sorta off topic...but freakin sweet.
I like Forums Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Analog stick buttons will replace A and B.
