Your wrestler biases

Recommended Posts

I really hated Austin in the period between Wrestlemania XV and his surgery. Just got sick of him always getting the better of the heels and the redneck persona. I really didn't want to see him come back and disrupt the awesomeness that was the WWF in 2000 either. By January 2001 I liked him again, but then hearing about the off-camera shit backstage and seeing him get the better of everyone even when not an active wrestler had me sick of him again by the present time. I guess that counts as a bias against him.

At least people are admitting their hate for HBK. Cuz there is ALOT of hate for HBK in these parts. Altho not enough people have admitted about their man crushes for Batsita. Yet.

I always liked Test and Billy Gunn more than everyone else. I hate RVD alot more than most.

Batista isn't that good of a wrestler despite being a pimp. How does that make anyone bias? Because they like his sense of style?

Anyone who has even remotely experienced my ramblings over the years knows I have a very strong bias towards the Undertaker. I also love the Kliq, with the exception of Sean Waltman, who I've always had a strong distaste for.

On the other side of things, I despise John Cena & Randy Orton, the so-called future of the business.

If alot of people have a bias against HBK, then you certainly have a bias for HBK, right? Because to claim any different would be wrong.

See, HBK is my favorite wrestler. But he is regarded to be a great wrsetler so....

I interput this question as someone who you hate or love due to things that isnt regarded by most. Is everyone biased to Benoit, or is he just the best wrestler around? I dont see liking Benoit biased.

Praising everything someone does is bias. Benoit has his fair share of stinkers but I don't care... unless it's REALLY bad, in the zone of Undertaker/Yokozuna Rumble '94 bad.

Guys I'm biased for:

Roddy Piper: He's really the reason I got into the WWF. I started watching NWA stuff first and I didn't care for for the more cartoony WWF stuff, but I'd watch just to see Piper. When he came back from his broken leg and destroyed the Flower Shop with his crutch was one of my biggest markout moments.

Sid: There was just something about Sid that you just had to like. It was like he knew he was a shitty worker and he was completely cool with that, which made it hard to hate him.

Dusty Rhodes: I know he's the #1 target of smark bashing, but I always thought he was a pretty decent worker for such a big guy, and who didn't enjoy his commentary? THEY BE CLUBBERIN' TONY~!

Undertaker: I'm not really biased for him as much as I don't share the extreme hate most folks have for him. I think Taker did as good as anyone could do considering most of the matches in his prime were against some of the worst workers in wrestling history.

Guys I'm biased against:

Bret Hart: I know this is blasphemy, but I always thought he was extremely overrated by almost everyone. Bret has talent, no doubt, but I found a lot of his matches boring and repetitive.

Jim Ross: I remember his NWA days, and listening to him now makes baby Jesus cry. WWE needs to overhaul its commentary badly, and soon.

See, all of those reasons are good "bias" reasons, as is Barrons Taker reason.

But if your fav wrestler is a great wrestler, you not biased unless you can't reconize that he sucks at anything. If that makes any sense...

i've never hated anyone more than Scotty Too Hotty. they could stick him against someone really shit like Heidenreich on next weeks SD and i would unashamedly be rooting for Heidenreich to kill him.

Gene Snitsky: Sure, so he's not a great wrestler. But he plays the monster heel role to the hilt, making him more entertaining then at least half of the RAW roster.

Abdullah the Butcher: How can you not love an insane man who stabs people with forks?

As for those I have a bias for in the fact that I can't stand them

Jerry Lawler: It's not the fact that he's a known sexual deviant. It's the fact that every monday, you have to hear his sexist spotings and that shrill, obnoxious voice that makes you want to shoot him in the face

Brock Lesner: Sure, he's a pretty good worker, and a company man, but he also just seems to come off as a major league asshole, IMO

A COMPANY MAN? The guy ditched the promotion that made him a star to try (and fail) for an NFL career and now he's begging to come back because he spent all his money.

Ok, he USED to be a company man. Plus, his ranting about internet fans also makes him a major league asshole.

And that he openly said he hated homosexuals.

Biased for:

Y2J - he is exceptionally funny, very talented, completely unselfish and unafraid to look like a fool for the benefit of the company (or indeed anyone else, really). If he was Champion again I can't imagine how the WWE would not make at least a little bit more money.

Regal - he's British, he's fucking awesome. What more needs saying?

TAKA Michiniku and Funaki - they were the best tag team ever. EVER. So what if all I ever saw of them was the Japanese B-movie gimmick on Heat? So what if they only ever won one match? THEY WERE FUCKING COOL! Plus of course, both are very good workers if allowed to do so.

Spanky & Paul London - both men are/were small workers (in WWE land) who manage to make it work convincingly without the flippy-floppy looks-false-and-like-it-doesn't-hurt Mysterio bollocks.

RVD - he's cool. Lazy, but cool.

Raven - God.

Jeff Hardy - he's fucked up. He's on drugs. He's sloppy, malco-ordinated, potentially dangerous to work with and certainly not the most reliable of workers. BUT... I still think he's great. Dunno why. Maybe because he was the only 'gothy' looking wrestler when I started watching, maybe because in 2000 he was absolutely fucking insane. He sucks, but I dig.

Dupree - sort of. His matches suck, but the French Tickler is great. I swear that thing got a bigger pop than anything else at Summerslam, and that was a Heat match.

Batista - I know he's not that good in the ring, but he does what he does well and just has 'the look'. A lot of people are meant to have that look, but the look does not consist of just having muscles. Dave just looks supercool, not to mention very dangerous.

Stevie Richards - I honestly have no idea, but he rocks.

Jay Briscoe - for no other reason than his finisher is cool, and evolved into the Demonstar Driver. None of you will know what that is, but to find out visit the Smartmarks Forums.

Biased against:

JBL - just fucking die. With incredible violence. And get the fuck off my TV.

Holly - ditto the above, but quicker

Kenzo Suzuki - absolute trash.

HBK - shove your cross up your no-selling arse and fuck off. You were entertaining when I was younger, but these days you make your living off bleeding too much and too frequently, talking in a very stupid voice, being annoyingly and too-blatantly Christian and no-selling all back work done on you. Jericho should have retired you at WM19

Heidenreich - GO AWAY BEFORE YOU INJURE SOMEONE ELSE

The Dudleyz - so stale they've gone mouldy.

Xtian - he tries hard, bless him, but he just can't do anything particularly interesting

Jim Ross and Lawler - Gag them. Mute them. Replace them with Grisham and Coach, or prefereably Tazz and Cole. These two are walking, talking arguments for euthanasia.

For:

Big Show--The first wrestling match I ever watched was the Giant squashing someone on Nitro. I've always liked him. Since he's actually learned how to wrestle he's become on of the guys I look forward to watching wrestle.

Eddie--He's Eddie. Eddie's awesome.

Dean Malenko--Malenko was my favorite wrestler during my mark days. WCW never did give me Hogan/Malenko for the title like I always wished.

Benoit--Same as Eddie.

Against:

HBK--For most of the reasons stated before.

HHH-Same as above.

:headbang:

I can't recall if I posted already, because I'm an idiot savante....except for the savante part. Anyway, bias against HBK. I've always hated him, and my being a mark for anyone Canadian(especially the Harts) only added fuel to that fire.

Tyson joined DX about 3 weeks before Wrestlemania. I don't recall what knocked out Hebner, but Austin hit the stunner with Earl down. Tyson hit the ring and made the count(it was technically his job, being an enforcer, if you think of it from a mark standpoint). The count was fast, but not fast to the point of being an angle.

HBK got bitter and took a swing, with Tyson instantly swinging back and HBK dropping.
