That's what announcers have to do, though. JR does too much of it, Quadros didn't do enough of it, I think Goldberg finds a nice balance. I thought he was a big douche for the longest time, but Rogan has meshed really well with him and they've improved as a team.

I didn't think it was "bullshit" as much as chants for "Bonnar" and "Forrest" kind of blending together. I may have been hearing things there, however, as I couldn't concentrate by that point.

I like Rogan, but his pre-fight introductions are hi-freaking-larious. Nobody apparently has any weaknesses in their game. Everyone is either a great striker or a solid striker, everyone has a solid ground game or "sick" submissions. I understand talking up the fighters, but there is something to be said for being honest. It would also help the story more to be honest, as if you know a fighter needs to avoid something it would be interesting to see how they do that.

Not to be a Ken Shamrock apologist but there had to be something wrong with the mat since both Bonnar and Forrest also had "issues" of slipping. The only difference is that they did not go for the kill when one of them fell.

I was just reading Star weeks TV guide (Toronto Star) and they mentioned the TUF marathon and finale in it's Saturday section and then briefly described it. A very small thing, but its notable cause even the WWE doesn't get written up when they come to Toronto or when anything big happens, so it brought a smile to my face.

What a fucking war. I had the fight 29-28 Forrest, but I was pulling for Bonnar at the end as I thought he might end up gtting the shaft by not getting the contract, whereas Forrest was already on the cusp. Forrest looked like he took more damage, and I was thinking that maybe the second round might go 10-8 on a scorecard and force a tie. I think the cut might have cost Bonnar the third in the end.

The middleweight division is going to get even more stacked. I'm assumin Diego's moving back down, but there's still Quarry, Swick, Koscheck, and Leben waiting in the wings, who all had seemingly impressive wins in the dark matches.

Jesus, last night was some drama. I'm sure my neighbors heard me scream when Forrest's name was called at the decision. My God, what a fight. And *such* a happy ending. Seriously, if they could've ended it there instead of Shamrock/Franklin (not that I didn't enjoy it, but the placement seemed wrong), that would have been the perfect series of matches of a card.

Diego, however, showed me last night that he es un hombre mas badass del mundo. I was expecting much more of a fight out of Kenny even though he was outmatched. But outclassed, too? Damn, Diego. :headbang:

When do we get Bonnar/Griffin II...UFC 53 or 54 maybe? Being that it was on free tv there might be a good audiance for an uppercard rematch.

I am interested to see how they play it. Do you go for the immediate rematch with nothing really on the line, but the guarantee that both have momentum or do you wait and hope they both win their first or second fight and put a title shot on the line? I could see them putting Griffin/Bonnar on next season's post-TUF PPV and try to piggy back off of next season's TUF.

Ken had nothing on that heel hook.

All around, a typically embarasing Shamrock performance. Satisfying end to his legend, if I do say so myself.

Franklin himself said he felt it pop. If Shammy would have held on for a few more seconds he might have tapped.

Even if he wasn't high enough on the leg, anytime your ankle is contorted like that, it doesn't feel good; it just takes longer to tap.

Well UFC 53 is going to be in Japan and I'd imagine because of politics that held up the last time they tried going to Japan, the card is already decided. So maybe 54....hopefully they'll come back to Atlantic City so I can go live again. ;)

UFC's not going to Japan again this year.

Does anyone remember how far into the show the Forest/Steph fight started?

If the replay starts tonight at 10:00 Eastern, when would the Forest/Steph fight start?

If you tune in around 11:05, you should have more than enough time.

It went by so much quicker the second time, lol. The first time it was so fucking dramatic that 15 minutes felt like an hour. A match like this, you don't have to be an expert, this match was all about emotion and passion; all you had to do was feel it.

Forrest and Stephan are both on The LAW.

"I just ate a buffet, and I think I'm going to die" - Forrest after Dan asked how he was feeling.

"I was trying to take the second round off, but Stephan would have none of that" - Forrest.

Fuck, these guys rule.

Diego Sanchez Interview Video

Looks like Diego is going to be dropping down a weight class. Is it just me or does it really defeat the purpose of running a competition for middleweights and then bringing in blown up WWs who are just going to drop immediately after?

He might of had a chance against UFC's stale MW division, but he would get murdered by Hughes and he could quite possibly die against Trigg.

Is there a recap of this anywhere on the net?
