bob_barron 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 New York Minute didn't get worst picture? Hilary Duff gets worst actress for Raise Your Voice? That's some bullshit
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Ben Stiller for Dodgeball and Anchorman? Man, these cats are fucked.
Modern Man's Hustle 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Ben Stiller was great in Dodgeball. The fuck is wrong with these people? Nothing for Cary Elwes in Saw?
Vigo 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Maybe these people are just a bunch of stuck up critics who feel that every movie needs to be a cinematic classic. There's nothing wrong with Dodgeball and Ben Stiller, in fact I think he's one of the most consistently funny actors working today.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 If someone gets nominated for something then they include everything they were in for the year
Jingus 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 The Razzies have been going downhill over the past year or two. Then again, it's not like they were ever supposed to be taken seriously in the first place.
Jingus 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 EDIT: a double post seems oddly appropriate in this thread.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Ben Stiller wasn't that good in Dodgeball. He seemed like he was trying too hard.

starvenger 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 You know, given the amount of "talent" that got nominations for Farenheit 9/11, shouldn't the writer/director get some "credit" for such a "masterpiece"? Not that I'm a Bush fan or anything, but it seems somewhat unfair to nominate him without giving Moore some "props".

Not that I'm a Bush fan or anything, but it seems somewhat unfair to nominate him without giving Moore some "props". I'd agree except for the fact that those nominated for Worst Director really, really deserve it. And Keanu has got to win the 25 year award, right?
Anorak 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 I think it's the large number of films Stiller is involved with that gets some critics moaning. Most of his films I find enjoyable but it's a backlash against how often they have to a review a film with him playing the same the kind of unlucky/goofy guy routine. treble 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 I'm upset at the lack of Van Helsing.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 That is stupid to have Stiller nominated considering nearly all of those films made decent to great money and were fairly decent. Bear in mind that these Razzie dorks nominated The Adventures of Ford Fairlane for everything in 1990, so really, how good can their taste possibly be? I think people let Elwes slide for Saw to some extent, mainly because I have no idea how the hell ANYONE would play some of the scenes he had to do.

Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 after all the hate it got, why isn't The Village nominated for anything?
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 I get the feeling Catwoman is going to be taking home most of the awards given how hated it was for months prior to release.
DMann2003 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Honestly, Affleck was not bad in Jersey Girl, and Lopez barely registers in the film (and she's not bad either)
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Man, Van Helsing got snubbed big time. I predicted a big time sweep.
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 I honestly think this is the worst year ever for nominations. There was a lot of lousy stuff not even mentioned and stuff that didn't really merit being on the list. The nominating all the Fahrenheit stuff is making a joke of themselves too. Not that I am a Michael Moore supporter or anything, but using clips of interviews for the Actor and Supporting Actress categories just doesn't click for me. I mean, I know it's not anything to be taken seriously, but it just comes across as lazy and/ or uninspired to me.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 I liked the Razzies more when they didn't get political. Wasting nominations on the Bush gang is stupid. Plus he'll probably win for the "LOLBUSHWONARAZZIELOLOLOL" effect. I mean, leaving off the man that played Dracula in Van Helsing? Leaving out those stupid vampire women?!?! Subtract them and Van Helsing isn't that horrible. The Razzies are now no longer fun or even funny. Be like the Academy nominating "The Substitute 4" for Best Picture. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Holy shit, that's right. Richard Roxburgh didn't get nominated for Van Helsing at all, did he? I thought that guy would be a shoe in for worst supporting actor. That was the single worst performance I saw all last year.

Hugh Jackman was the only thing even remotely watchable about that movie. Even the wonderful and beautiful Kate Beckinsale had the most contrived accent I've ever heard, and a performance I hope she'll never look back on.
Ced 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Ben Stiller for Worst Actor yet Richard Roxburg gets a pass? Fuuuuck... Donald Rumsfeld on the ballot, which is, like the other Fahrenheit 9/11 nominees, politics rearing its ugly head and taking the fun out of the Razzies. SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Ben Stiller's films grossed more than 500 million all together this year, and he was the best part of every film he was in. His spot in that Razzie list is complete bullshit.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 George W. Bush / FAHRENHEIT 9/11 I wonder if this was largely based on the scene of him in jeans and his trusty cowboy trying to explain to the camera man why he was digging in the dirt, ya know to come off looking like a farmer or something. Terrible acting if I may say so.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 26, 2005 You know, that would be really interesting and I'd gain some respect for Bush as a cool guy if he showed up to accept his award if he did win.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 You know, that would be really interesting and I'd gain some respect for Bush as a cool guy if he showed up to accept his award if he did win. If Bush did, that might be the single greatest thing in the history of 2005. As for Van Helsing, I found it harmless until those Vampires came on the screen. God, talk about proving there is no life after drama club. I haven't heard over the top line reading like that since the X-Men cartoon when Storm would talk.
