ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 by Henry Petty We're looking for some of the early results Velocity Akio b Nunzio Bashams b Charlie Haas & Bob Holly afer a switch Smackdown JBL & Friends got into it with Angle & Friends. Teddy Long announced a singles last man standing non-title match as the main event Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mysterio & Booker T b Mark Jindrak & Luther Reigns & Orlando Jordan John Cena b Kenzo Suzuki with the FU to keep the U.S. title Heidenreich came out to read a poem. A casket was brought out by the ref while Undertaker's music played. Heidenreich doesn't like caskets and hid behind the ring Undertaker b Heidenreich in a casket match. This wasn't taped for TV. Paul London won four-way over Shannon Moore, Funaki and Spike Dudley. Nobody cared about this match as Carlito was trying to get fans to sign his petition Kurt Angle NC JBL. Angle hit JBL with a chair and delivered a series of German suplexes. It appeared Angle blew JBL up but they had a good match. Neither man could answer the bell. Post-show dark match saw Show over JBL & Jordan No mention of Rumble qualifiers or even all the Velocity matches, but it's something to get started with. I have to go to bed though. LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 London won a four way with Funaki in it? Does that make London new champ? Will they add London vs. Funaki to Rumble now?

Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 London won a four way with Funaki in it? Does that make London new champ? Will they add London vs. Funaki to Rumble now? I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Royal Rumble qualifying match EDIT: I just noticed at WWE.com that for whatever reason Dupree was added to the Royal Rumble. Therefore I predict that London and the winner of the casket match will be the last two men added.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 London won a four way with Funaki in it? Does that make London new champ? Will they add London vs. Funaki to Rumble now? I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Royal Rumble qualifying match Wow. No matter what the outcome is I'll be happy. EDIT: Unless, of course, the match meant nothing and will never be brought up again.
CBright7831 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 Seemed like more people were interesting in Carlito than the match.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 Did Dupree qualify in the past three days? The Rumble website has him at the bottom of the Smackdown list, sorted by order of qualifying (RAW has Benjamin first and Flair last, SD! has Puder first).

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 Did Dupree qualify in the past three days? I thought he beat London. Or, was that Suzuki? Anyway, looks a decent enough show, might catch it because I enjoyed the last JBL/Angle match (sans crappy ending).
Guest jumpingbombangel Report post Posted January 26, 2005 Awright here we go, I was there last night, photos later (I got to meet Spike again!) Going by the already posted spoilers, I have more details. Dark Match: Some jobber vs. Chad somebody from Little Rock...local boy made good and won the match. Velocity Scotty 2 Hotty d. Chavo Guererro Good pop for Scotty since he was the first face out, he got to do the Worm and won after a roll-up pin. Rene Dupree d. some jobber French Tickler and a win...Little Rock crowd was very anti-France. Akio d. Nunzio Excellent match; only reason to watch Velocity. Bashams d Charlie Haas & Bob Holly Stupid match and pretty pointless. Smackdown JBL & Friends got into it with Angle & Friends. Teddy Long announced a singles last man standing non-title match as the main event Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mysterio & Booker T b Mark Jindrak & Luther Reigns & Orlando Jordan Everybody loves Rey Rey. No heat for Angle's boys, but plenty of love for the Latino Heat and the Booker. John Cena b Kenzo Suzuki with the FU to keep the U.S. title Cena remains over, he roused the crowd up afterward with a Royal Rumble promo that let everyone know he's ready. Heidenreich came out to read a poem. A casket was brought out by the ref while Undertaker's music played. Heidenreich doesn't like caskets and hid behind the ring Undertaker b Heidenreich in a casket match. This wasn't taped for TV. Taker's entrance is so great...it never ceases to amaze me. This was a pretty good match. The Divas came out (2 of the jobbers and Miss Jackie) to shoot T-shirts at people in the crowd. Paul London won four-way over Shannon Moore, Funaki and Spike Dudley. Nobody cared about this match as Carlito was trying to get fans to sign his petition It's a damn shame the cruiserweights don't get more attention. I'm just glad to see these guys back on Smackdown for a change. Kurt Angle went to a no-contest with JBL. Angle hit JBL with a chair and delivered a series of German suplexes. It appeared Angle blew JBL up but they had a good match. Neither man could answer the bell. Paul London qualifies for the Rumble; maybe he'll make a good showing and be one of the iron men this year (I highly doubt it though, even though we like the guy no one else really gives a shit about him). Before and after the show I got to see most of the talent. One cool moment is when Spike Dudley called out to me and I got to go past the parking barricade for hugs and a picture. So damn cool. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 They have a little 'practise' match DURING the event? I wonder if they told the fans it wasn't going to be on TV.

TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 I would laugh if Suzuki or someone just said 'forget this' and went on a throwing rampage, for the hell of it. Next year's rumble thread: Who got the Kane push last year? Er... Kenzo, I think.

natey2k4 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 So is London if for sure or is it just speculation? I'll order the Rumble for the fact hat London is on PPV alone. Please WWE let him stay in longer then 1 minute.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 I'm kind of hoping that London's victory is leading to a cruiser title match. That'll likely end much better for London fans than an appearance in the Rumble where he shows up, hits maybe one dropsault, and then is tossed by one of the hosses. nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 Gosunkugi's right ... to have London in the actual Rumble would most likely result in him being cannon fodder for someone bigger, getting an actual push, or both. I can't see the WWE allowing him to throw anyone out.
Guest DeathBecomesYou Report post Posted January 26, 2005 Anyone else fucking sick of this Carlito petition angle? Maybe if he came out during the hoss matches it wouldn't be so bad. Plus, even if it's on Velocity, S2H going over Chavo is shit.

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 26, 2005 Even if the London victory was in fact a Rumble Qualifyer, there still remains a open spot from Smackdown. So unless they plug in the other slot on a houseshow tonight or friday night, could they potentially be leaving a open spot for a "surprise" or is this likely an typical wwe oversight? or perhaps the AKIO win over Nunzio was also a Qualifyer? However I want to say I'm a big fan of the Rumble Qualifying deal; it's better this way then the usual "we put 30 men in here for the sake of being in there". You only qualified by winning a match or being a previous winner (which was the Flair/HBK excuse and I guess Benoit as well but they never directly said that and he actually did win a match I think). The former winner clause allows Rock, Luger, Bret Hart, Vince McMahon, Hogan, Austin and Duggan to compete. The other rumble winners are dead (BJS, Yokozuna). I'd mark for a Duggan surprise apperence. I think everyone would. As for the show? Nunzio/Akio and S2H/Chavo looks fun and I bet the tag match won't be too bad either. So Velocity might get a check out from me, I find it interesting they did the Taker/Heidenreich test match during the show and not after the show like usual. However, I guess they wanted to test the crowd when they weren't in "post-show" mode. After a month of doing this match as a dark match and on the circuit, I'd imagine they have this down by now. The Six man could be fun stuff if it gets the time raw's six man did. However the talent is completely one sided there.
