Fökai 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 They're wasting that team with the little pregame and postgame shows - TNT needs to secure more time before and after for this trio to recap the games around the league.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 little postgame? Inside The NBA can last like an hour and a half sometimes until past 1 in the morning. Fortson's chair throw was good
Fökai 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 little postgame? Inside The NBA can last like an hour and a half sometimes until past 1 in the morning. I usually catch the pregames, which is why I'm probably exaggerating. I have to make an effort to see the final quarter of every NBA game on TNT, just so I can catch their postgame more often. EDIT: I was impressed with Jerome James (or was it Reggie Evans?) catching the chair in mid-air by its leg.
The Electrifyer 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 Malone's gonna retire: http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/3390516. Thank God, I was afraid he was going to come back and play for a team I like, the Spurs. But now that he's gone, good riddance.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 Bah. Karl Malone was great. Hey, as the token Jazz fan, I have to stick up for him. And Reggie's sister said he's done, too. This day can't get any worse.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 Reggie should have hung it up after his layup was redirected into Low Earth Orbit by Tayshaun Prince. And I doubt that Karl is done for good just yet. He's running this crap for pub, just like all the crap that happened after Kobe ran him off the Lakers. If you want to play with another team, then get the deal done. If not, just retire. Don;t insult my intelligence by flirting with playing for another championship contender. It;s just complete silliness.

This day can't get any worse. A Reggie Miller marathon on ESPN Classic would be some pretty good stuff, like that miracle comeback against the Knicks. Their Stockton marathon was good. Steviekick 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 A Miller marathon just might make me feel better. Rendclaw, I do agree with you that Malone's been annoying with taking forever to make an announcement either way.
Shanghai Kid 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Gilbert Arenas has scored 30 or more points in 9 of his last 13 games, he's just dominating guys at the PG posistion as of late.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 After beating Phoenix for their 5th straight win, the Sonics better move above the Suns in the power rankings if they beat Dallas Sunday as this week they would have beat Sacramento, Phoenix and Dallas.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Ron Artest should defer a percentage of his contract to Miller for the remainder of his career, seeing as he cost him his last chance at a title.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Malone's just killing time that way he is less likely to reinjure himself and be able jump on board in time to ride it out to get that title. I doubt he evens plays more then 10 Minutes Per Game.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted February 12, 2005 I've watched a few Nugget games over the past week or so and Carmello Anthony has a really awkward game. Nothing he does ever looks smooth and it all has that panic filled rushed vibe to it. He still scored fine in most of the games I saw, but just not within the flow of the game it seemed. And even on his good nights, Vince Carter looks like a tool. Bruce Bowen just worked him right into getting himself tossed as he was on pace to score 50 + points. The Nets lead evaporated and that was that. Amazing.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Oh and the worst thing about Malone retiring is all the damned "Mailman" and "won't be making anymore deliveries" puns I'm seeing.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 We are really seeing the differences between Carmelo and LeBron now. Carmelo seems like he isn;t having much fun out there and that is indeed rushing hsi game, while LeBron seems like he is going to Magic Johnson/Oscar Robertson territory... Its amazing how much poise he possesses, where conventional wisdom would say the exact opposite.... It seems more like Carmelo is the kid straight out of high school, playing just to get paid and for the fame, while LeBron is the much more mature player.... its bizarre. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Why do the Maloofs feel the Kings need their third arena in the last 20 years? Arco is supposed to have the best home-court advantage and it can't possibly have been built more than 18 years ago. I mean, Chicago Stadium lasted forever.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Fool. Do not question the need for new stadiums every 15 odd years.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 ESPN color commentator: "now Nowitzki and Webber, they are not power forwards. They are called power forwards, but they are not REALLY power forwards. Malone defined power forward, he was a real power forward. He was a power forward." alfdogg 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 I'm sorry for stealing your line, POATM, but: Fuck Karl Malone. Convenient that he would announce he was retiring a day after Reggie does. Whatta glory hound.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 I remember when Patrick Roy conveniently retired and everyone was like "oh, fuck him! He's trying to distract everyone from the Stanley Cup Finals!" and I was like "good. the finals are New Jersey and Anaheim." btw I <3 Mark Cuban. He's sitting there, sees the camera is on him, and starts making a spectacle of himself.

That's Tom "scrub" Tolbert for ya Kings definitely got screwed there, and it's extra bitter for them after that whole Brad Miller/Amare Stoudemire thing. But fuck em, at least they aren't the Knicks
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Ah well. It's not as if the Kings haven't been the benefactors of less-than-perfect officiating this season, with the Houston game a couple weeks ago immediately coming to mind. Speaking of Houston, they beat the Pacers last night despite no one on the Rockets scoring more than 17 points. Jamaal Tinsley started but only played for 2 minutes according to the box score. I'll have to see what that's all about.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Tinsley has missed the last 5 games or so with *I think* an ankle injury, something leg/foot related. He tried to run tonight but after a couple minutes decided he couldn't go. Indy is pretty much fucked without him.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 I just saw what happened with Carter, too, where he headbutted Bowen. He should get at least a fine out of it, if not a suspension. Can't say I blame him though, I'm sure a lot of guys have wanted to go at Bowen like that. Oooh, just saw too that Bowen put his foot underneath Carter on a jumper. It was clearly on purpose, as he did it to Carter last year too and injured him. Maybe Carter should have just went all the way and just decked him in his jaw. Also, Danny Fortson got suspended for two games for throwing that chair. If I got ejected for getting shoulderblocked to the floor by Chris Webber, I'd want to throw things too. And Alonzo Mourning got a buyout from the Raptors (he was in the Carter trade). The obvious assumption is that he'll go back to the Heat.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Whoever caught Fortson's chair has skill.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 He's also stupid for not letting the chair hit him. Bastard, could of sued for big green.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 A few seasons ago a team with both Shaquille O'Neal and Alonzo Mourning would've been damn near unstoppable. I guess the Heat better hope adding Dwayne Wade to an older, slower Shaq and a Zo that's one kidney ailment from being done for good will be something close.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Hey now, Shaq is still a major threat. On the other hand, if I was a GM, I wouldn't touch Mourning.

Fuck that, Bowen gave him a little head BUTT first, Vince simply returned the favor. Bowen has a history of shit like that. If anything, it was bullshit that Carter got a second T after he got undercut. Bowen has a history of shit like that too.
