razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 I don't like the jam session concept that they are using for all live performances. This is worse than Superbowl halftime shows that had people who have no business "singing" together.
CBright7831 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 Here are all of the grammy winners (so far) and nominees. http://rockonthenet.com/archive/2005/grammys.htm Ray Charles beat Brian Wilson for Best Pop Vocal Album.
Murmuring Beast 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 It's Ray, but how good was the album. Probably just sappy sentiment. In a sense I'm glad Brian didn't win it. He doesn't need medals

Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 I think it's funny that a song called "Let's Get It Started" is being talked about in the context of awards when the real name of the song is "Let's Get Retarded".
Fökai 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 I don't know what to think of the decision to giving Ray Charles the top two awards tonight. If the album is in fact better than the other nominees, they need to seperate the sentiment away from the accomplishment, because it degrades the award further than it already has been. ...in any event, Kanye West should've won "Best New Artist" and "Song of the Year". Slayer 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 ...in any event, Kanye West should've won "Best New Artist" Really it's for the better, as (for the most part) the BNA award has historically been a death mark on the long term success of the winner. Also while all the sentiment towards Ray was certainly nice, death seems to be the one of the only ways the Grammies will acknowledge older legends (either that or teaming up with the HAWT NEW STARZ~ of today, coughSantanacough) Also also, I can't f'king stand Norah Jones. A couple years ago one of my co-workers played her first CD and I fell asleep.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 I was rooting for Kanye West to get NOTHING on the night. I mean, dude has got to be one of the most annoying whiney fucking ass fucks I have ever seen or heard. I was just hoping that he wouldn't be able to take how a single award, so once his continious bitching continued, he would alienate the rest of the world and he would just go produce and I would never ever have to hear him rap or give a interview again. Oh, and honestly, that Ray Charles album does kick all types of ass. I mean, his death pushed it to the forfront, but really...it kicked ass.
Special K 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 Oh my god, the Grammies are the worst. They actually nominated hoobastank and Nickelback for awards. AHhahahaha! Nickelback is the worst fucking band ever! I don't think it's even up for dispute. I think it's widely accepted that Nickelback is the worst fucking 'rock' band in the history of music. Vertigo won a Grammy? Oh my god, that song is horrible! Of course this is not news. They should just list the Billboard charts, nominate the top 5 in every category, and award the Grammy to the number 1. Save everyone some time. BTW, what's the difference between best record and best song of the year? Did the best song of the year just happen to get a shitty transfer, and therefore lose? 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 The Grammys are the most worthless award now. I remember when they used to mean something, now they have so many stupid categories that it is nearly impossible for everyone in attendance not to leave with a Grammy. Hell, you could just be the guy sweeping up after the show...you get a Grammy. I mean, a Grammy for Britney Spears? And Maroon 5? Seriously, what?

GreatWhiteNope 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 Well, Britney Spears deserves it, even though I don't know what she won it for. Pop star Britney Spears won the first Grammy Award of her brief but colorful career on Sunday, taking the prize in the best dance recording category. Spears, 23, was honored for her chart-topping song "Toxic," which appeared on her 2003 album "In the Zone." The other nominated songs were "Good Luck," by Basement Jaxx featuring Lisa Kekaula; "Get Yourself High," by the Chemical Brothers; "Slow," by Kylie Minogue; and "Comfortably Numb," by Scissor Sisters.
