ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 I'm sure Armageddon 2003 with Kane/HHH/Goldberg and everything on the undercard being horrible was worse. At least this show apparently had Cena and Angle (I didn't see it, but I guess it was decent). Jason

Enigma 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 So was the cage match better or worse than the Hogan-Flair one at Uncensored '99? Worse. At least Flair & Hogan used the barbed wire as a weapon. Big Show & JBL didn't even do that.
ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 What about the Great American Bash? The US Title 4-way and JBL v Eddy were both pretty good. -=Mike And the cruiserweight match wasn't bad at all. To put this show in perspective, Chavo v. Rey got 19 minutes for a CW match for 1 fall. Today had 5 falls in 9 minutes. Of course, that's better than WrestleMania that had 9 eliminations in 10 minutes. Jason
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 GAB always gets mentioned for worst PPV of 2004 because of the sillyness with Taker killing Paul Bearer, but the worst PPV of 2004 had to be Armageddon. Other than the main event, nothing on that show was worthwhile. Nothing at all. This was worse than THAT?
Fökai 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 At least this show apparently had Cena and Angle (I didn't see it, but I guess it was decent.) From Meltzer: Angle vs. Cena is next up. Cena won clean with the FU after surviving several ankle lock attempts . No Shawn. Angle put on a tremendous performance. This wasn't the best Cena match I've ever seen, but it was in the top few. Really good and saved the show.
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted February 21, 2005 Next week on the Surreal Life guess who shows up to see Chyna. That's right, Sean Waltman. It looks like he and Peter Brady end up having a real fight too.
Guest FromBeyondTheGrave Report post Posted February 21, 2005 London is the best dressed guy in the WWE, now. Screw Batista and his "manly" suits. Why would Joy wear a thong under a bikini? What was SHE thinking? Heidenreich and Snitsky are the only two guys who can look cool, while getting DQ'ed.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 Ric Flair Vs. Hogan at Uncensored 1999 was ***. I know what you're going to say. But before you do please watch it. It's very good, the crowd is mega hot, Flair AND Hogan bump their asses off and work very hard.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 I'll just go with what I've always been hoping for...put batista in both matches. Please just merge the belts. Please. That was my dumb idea. You can't have it. *takes it back* Its mine! Oh, and it was totally obvious this was going to suck. *walks away whistling while putting 35 bucks back in his wallet*
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 So let me recap: - Good/very good opener with Rey & Eddie winning the Tag Belts. - Very decent performance by smark-loved Paul London, which most likely gives him a CW Title shot at Mania, where he hopefully wins. - Very good Cena vs Angle match with clean ending, no interference by the smark-hated HBK. - Somewhat clever ending for the WWE Title match. Cliched bump (depending on who you ask), but a fun beatdown at the end with everyone's new favorite, DAVE. And some guys here are calling it worst PPV since the split?? Enigma 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 Ric Flair Vs. Hogan at Uncensored 1999 was ***. I know what you're going to say. But before you do please watch it. It's very good, the crowd is mega hot, Flair AND Hogan bump their asses off and work very hard. And like I said earlier, they even go out of their way to actually use the wire as a weapon. It was clearly established for this match that the wire was only there to keep people out, not be used as a weapon. Thus, a match so boring that random "RVD" chants broke out. KingPK 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 So was the cage match better or worse than the Hogan-Flair one at Uncensored '99? Worse. At least Flair & Hogan used the barbed wire as a weapon. Big Show & JBL didn't even do that. Well, by the way the cage looked in the commercials, there really was no logical way for them to use it anyway. Climbing the cage to escape and playing off that would have made no sense (I assume this match was pinfall/submission only?) Pulling the wire off the cage and using it would have possibly worked, but it probably would have been that rubberized stuff, which would be noticed. All in all, putting barbed wire on a regulation cage pretty much was just so WWE can put barbed wire on a regulation cage and call it a new gimmick match. Hell in a Cell would have worked just as well, but A) that match has been overused already and B) It's HHH's match now. Isn't the whole point of a cage match is to keep everyone else out, anyway? humongous2002 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 Those RVD chants broke out because the fans would rather pay to see Rob walking around in crutches than that brutal JBL/Slow cage match.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 Cena/Angle DID save the show. The whole thing just died after the tag title match. I can't really say the crowd was into the cruiser match just because there was just THAT MUCH boring crap between it and the tag title match. The crowd didn't wake up unless Cena or Batista were out there.
humongous2002 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 In other words the fans don't give 2 shits about anybody else besides Cena, Kurt, Eddy, Rey and Batista (oh, yeah and the RVD chants).
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 Were the RVD chants loud? I don't remember hearing them, to be honest. Cena/Angle was Cena's best match in a long while. In at least a year, I'd say. The last bit of the tag match was good. The first part, when Basham's controlled, got a big boring. I know, a Basham match boring! Who would have thunk? The cruiserweight match was fun, but really, can someone dress the cruiserweights better, or at least Shannon and Paul? What the hell was London wearing? Who let Shannon near the red eyeliner? I do like Akio's gear though. Hopefully Chavo and London have a match at WM. I thought that finish to the cage match was stupid. It seemed really comedy-ish. CBright7831 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 Of course, the WWE writers had their earplugs in, so they were unable to hear/make out the RVD chants.

He looked like a mix between the Ultimate Warrior and Marty Jannetty.
