strummer 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2005 I'm still in shock over Mitch Hedberg dying, I haven't felt like this since the day Owen died. The first celebrity death that truly got to me was Farley's. It feels weird to be this depressed over someone I never knew or met, so has anyone else just been devastated by certain celebrity deaths? And though it didn't hit me at a personal level and he wasn't much of a known celebrity to some when he died, the death of original Drowning Pool lead singer Dave Williams shocked the hell out of me when it happened. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2005 Phil Hartman's death really affected me. He was one of my favourite SNL castmembers and his death (especially right after Farley's) really upset me. Bulldog's death was horrible. I was depressed for a while afterwards and that week in public speaking we had to eulogies so as tribute I improvised a 7 minute eulogy. syxx2001 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Tupac was more surprising than upsetting. Phil Hartman, and I wasnt even that big of a fan. I just loved him in Houseguest and Small Soldiers. Vyce 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 No celebrity death has ever really brought a tear, but a few have bothered me. Cobain way back in the day. Owen, because, of course, I'm a wrestling geek. And his death, unlike the other 3,394 wrestling deaths we've had in the last 10 years, was so completely sudden and tragic. Recently, John Ritter. Which I sort of can't explain, because I can't really say I was a big Ritter fan, in that I never really watched much of his work. But it bugged me because he actually seemed to be a genuinely nice guy, which seems to be a rarity in Hollywood. CBenoit brought up the one celebrity death that really bothered me - Brandon Lee. I was becoming a big fan of the guy, and to this day I firmly believe that, had he lived, he would have become a HUGE star in Hollywood. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I second that, Reagan was a personal hero to me, I remember last year the day he died was the the day before I headed to Disneyland for my birthday trip and I was bummed that I couldn't get to the library to view the casket. However, I was still at Disneyland, where on Main Street they had the flags at half and where President Reagan co-hosted the opening ceremonies 50 years ago this July. Also, Ritter was one that really got to me too. I remember seeing him at Disney World a couple months 8 Simple Rules premiered doing a press junket and he was so full of life and personable interacting with the people watching him being interviewed.
