Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I was lucky enough to buy Wrestlemania tickets from Ticketmaster today. They were expensive but I am so excited to go. I read various postings from several members about their Wrestlemania experiences. Now, no matter what happens at WM 21, it will the best Wrestlemania ever cause I get to exprience it. Also, I invested alot more money by seeing it live that watching on PPV ($200 per ticket vs $50 PPV) It better be good. Discuss.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I was at Wrestlemania XX last year. Just a tremendous show- the main event is probably the best match I've ever seen. There's just something about being a Wrestlemania that I can't explain

Garth 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I attended Wrestlemania X8 traveling all the way from the UK. Was well worth it just to be apart of the crowd for Hgan vs The Rock.
res37618 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 Consider yourselves lucky, I've never gotten to go. Been to SummerSlam, King of the Ring, Unforgiven, Armageddon, and several other shows, but not WrestleMania. But alas, that will hopefully change next year, I've almost decided to plan on a trip to Chi-Town for next year's show. It's about a 9 hour drive from where I am (eastern TN), but I don't mind. Cawthon, when you went, did you get a hotel room in NYC for the night, or did you pretty much drive back out of the city right after the show? I was just curious, knowing where you go to college, you're probably the closest (in proximity) person that I'm aware of that's gone to WrestleMania, so would love to hear your experience if you've got time. We know the show was awesome, what about the trip up/back/time there?
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 WrestleMania XX fell on the first Sunday of my Spring Break last year so I went up the day before and stayed until Thursday. Drove to DC (home away from college) then took the train from Union Station to Penn Station (which is connected to MSG). I'm thinking about going to 22. Never been to Chicago. Only problem is that since I graduate in May, I have no idea where I'll be or what I'll be doing in a year's time.

Guest The Mandingo Warrior Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I was at Wrestlemania 6 (hogan/warrior) and Wrestlemania X-8 (Hogan-Rock). both were at skydome and both were amazing. I am pumped for tomorrows event!!
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 Hmm, the "wrestlemania experience" must've skipped WM 18, cause it felt like a big time RAW.
ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I will be going to WrestleMania 22 in Chicago, the first one I've had the chance of going to considering my age and bank account. I begged my dad to take me to WrestleMania 13, but unfortunately it was not to be (seeing Hart v. Austin live was a dream even at age 12). So you can add me to the list next year. Matt Young 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 (edited) I'm going to WrestleMania 21 tomorrow, getting a ticket from RedJed. I've been to a ton of house shows, 2 WCW TV tapings, and the first raw ever in peoria, Illinois, in November 2004, but this'll be my first WrestleMania, and first PPV overall. I'm psyched. I'm disappointed that Paul London and Matt Hardy won't be wrestling, but aside from that and the shitty sumo match, everything looks great. Plus after 14 years of fandom, I get to see WrestleMania live in fuckin' Hollywood. My only request is that the TSMers who hate me and will be attending the show don't beat me up until afterwards. I will be at the arena a couple hours early, however, if anyone wishes to throw fruit and/or baked goods in my general direction. No urine balloons. EDIT: I'm also hoping to attend Wrestlemania 22 in Chicago. A lot of my friends back in Illinois are planning on getting tickets when they go on sale, and if I can afford the trip back there, I'll be going to the show with them. Guest Tjhe CyNick Report post Posted April 3, 2005 WM 18 was a bad show for a Mania, but Hogan-Rock was the most memorable thing Ive ever been a part of live, so I can say it was worth it. Ive been to 6 and 20 as well.
res37618 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 For anyone that's been to Chicago/Rosemont/Allstate Arena, is it hard to get to? Is Chicago a bitch to drive through (interstate only, not driving downtown, mind you), or what? Any feedback from those in the know would be appreciated. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 New Jack coming out unannounced and Roadkill being more over than Hogan at Wm 18 was the most memorable thing at a wrestling event that I've ever seen. The "Wrestlemania Experience" can't hold a candle to that.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I went to WM14 at the Fleetcenter as a fan, and worked at WM17 in Houston. I was also set to work WM18, but had someone else take my place because my then-girlfriend was in a basketball championship, and I'm a sentimental sap. Or a sucker. You decide. Is Chicago a bitch to drive through (interstate only, not driving downtown, mind you), or what? Any feedback from those in the know would be appreciated. The arena is pretty close to an exit off the interstate, and it's also accessible from sidestreets as well. I drove from my house and got there without problems for the episode of Raw with the 8 man tag (Benoit/Michaels/Benjamin/Foley v. Evolution) in April 2004. I can't imagine the traffic being unbearable for a Sunday afternoon or evening getting to or leaving the facility. Jason
MooreMark 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I went to Wrestlemania 6 and 18 aswell. Wrestlemania 18 was just great to be apart of but the show sucked. Hogan/Rock really made it.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 WM18, one of the best experinces of my life. Rock-Hogan, one of the best matches of all time. No match will compare to the crowd heat in this(This is also coming from a guy who attended Canadian Stampede). The rush was crazy, i was one of the few going for The Rock. It was just crazy, i doubt i will ever relive that moment
RedJed 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I went to Mania 19 in Seattle and it was a great weekend overall. They had that fanfest the same weekend too, and that made things more notable for me, since they had a play by play booth, etc. The tickets we had for Safeco Field were ok but nothing to brag about - lower level of Safeco but quite a ways away from the ring. Got them free though (my buddy works in the entertainment business and had connections in WWE) so I cant complain too much, plus we were sitting around alot of the families of the wrestlers and etc, even some of the people from that years Tough Enough and stuff. Going to this year's Mania and Raw/Sd shows so that should be fun. I think tomorrow's show could be one of the better Manias ever if all of the matches perform to expectations. Less is more this year with the lineup I think. The atmosphere was unreal in Seattle in a large stadium - I cant imagine what it will be like tomorrow! Matt, PM me by the way about the meetign schedule.......

Guest NitroJMS Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I went to WrestleManias X8 and XX. Basically, my current plan is to do any Northeast-based Manias from this point on, so I'm almost definitely going to Chicago next year. I hope they stay on the current trend of going east then west every other year since it really helps the bank account recover after each show. I'm guessing 23 will be somewhere in the mid-west or maybe the south.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I was able to get Premere Level 13, Row 6 and blah blah. I really not sure if they are great seats or not but at least I get to exprience it and brag about it. I could have gotten floor seating but $750 is too expensive. My father says $200 is too expensive. We'll see tomorrow.
