Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Appear locked for the show World Title Batista Vs Triple H II Hulk Hogan and HBK Vs Hassan and Davari Edge Vs Chris Benoit IC Title Shelton Benjamin Vs Chris Jericho ------ I would love for Benoit/Edge to be a I QUIT gimmick considering how much is being focused on Benoit's "injury" and how well tooled they are in submissions but apprently JBL/Cena @ Judgment day has already obtained that gimmick. I would finally give christian some direction and take him and tomko to face tajiri/regal(whom apprently are claiming them right now) for the tag titles. Christy/Trish rematch would likely occur, perhaps with a Gimmick this time. such as a strap match(a match that would allow them to mask Christy's weakness). I'd imagine Chris Masters gets another "victim" here off a low grade jobber like Hurricane. That'd be seven matches, which given the trends is about average for a wwe ppv these days. So far it looks to be shaping up better then most recent brand exclusive shows have been.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Thus far two good matches, about 30-35 good minutes of wrestling probably, and no title changes for 35 bucks.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Thus far two good matches, about 30-35 good minutes of wrestling probably, and no title changes for 35 bucks. Why do you say no title changes. I actually got the impression that Y2J might beat Benjamin, given his promo on how he's been lost since he lost the IC Title.

Matt Young 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Seven. Edge and Jeff 'Unover' Jarrett held the previous record of 6, and maybe RVD, too. I can't remember if he had 5 or 6 reigns. Then again, he can't remember either.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 I'd imagine Chris Masters gets another "victim" here off a low grade jobber like Hurricane. I'd love to see Masters do his $1,000 challenge for another two weeks and then get his ass kicked at the PPV by Kane or something.
Enigma 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Here's a better idea: How about we keep Christy out of the ring? I like that one.
DMann2003 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Given HHH's promo last night on RAW, I get the feeling that the match at Backlash will be built around Batista kicking out of the Pedigree. And yes I DO think Batista will kick out of the Pedigree at Backlash

The best way to cover Christy's weaknesses would be to not put her in a wrestling match on pay-per-view. The woman cannot wrestler at all and should not be put in any kind of match ever. The same goes for the totally awful "Disasterpiece" Chris Masters. I don't think there are many people who are willing to pay money to see him beat a jobber with his crappy moveset. There are only two good matches. I don't see how this is shaping up to be better than any other single brand show.
Carnival 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 I think RVD has 5 reigns. Jericho is IC champ 4 life. Pisses me off.

slimm44 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 So far a good card IMO. I see how the whole Hogan match will work out, the classic 'will he show up?' and then when Michaels is beat, he comes out and beats Hassan to end his winning streak. And yes, it is time for Benjamin to lose the belt.
I like Forums 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Benjamin should retain. Jericho would do nothing for the title, the seven times he held it meant nothing. Shelton actually is building himself and the title's reputation. Plus, I think at this point in Jericho's career he is less likely to pull of a great match than Shelton is. The only reason Shelton should drop the IC title is if he is ready to jump up to the Main Event scene.
BorneAgain 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Shelton should at least hold on to the IC title for another month just so he can break Orton's streak as champion. Actually if they had him hold on to it until Vengance (June 26) he could break Rock's streak, which in my opinion could give Shelton some real legitimacy. I mean, longest running IC champion in 17 years sounds pretty damn impressive.
Carnival 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 I forgot the IC title existed. Thats how stale shelton has become. he just needs to wrestle more than he has been in the past 3 months. He needs more title defense wins. Who cares if he beats Jericho. Jericho has been jobbed out to everyone. have him fued with christian, hassan, or turn him heel. It's about time they give shelton something to do after the maven fiasco.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Jericho is on the way down, and fast. Shelton is on the way up and fresh off stealing the show in the ladder match at Wrestlemania. He should win, and Jericho should go heel, to try and salvage something of his career.
Guest nokia Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Isn't the next ppv match between JBL and Cena going to be an "I quit match" ?? Doesn't make a lot of sense to book the same match on 2 back to back ppv's
Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Which is why i said "I'd like". and i acknowledged that JBL/Cena already for whatever reason obtained the I Quit gimmick. JBL/Cena should just do a Last Man Standing match.
ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Shelton should at least hold on to the IC title for another month just so he can break Orton's streak as champion. Actually if they had him hold on to it until Vengance (June 26) he could break Rock's streak, which in my opinion could give Shelton some real legitimacy. I mean, longest running IC champion in 17 years sounds pretty damn impressive. The problem with this is that Shelton is the only one of these three that hasn't really focused on the IC title. The Rock defended the IC title sparingly, at most, but it was the focus of all his feuds. Plus, every blowoff match in his feuds at the time was an Intercontinental title match. Orton defended the IC title constantly, so he really brought up the prestige of the belt while gaining access to a record. People actually remembered his championship. When Shelton is introduced, I have to see that he's carrying the belt to remember he's the IC champion. If I am asked, I would be able to say he's the champion, but it'd take me a couple of seconds to throw that information to the front of my brain. That's a testament to the way the IC title has been treated since Shelton won at Taboo Tuesday. Obviously, the WWE marketing machine could make this possible. Shelton would be "the longest reigning IC champ in nearly 2 decades," and all this will have been forgotten after they've said that hundreds of times. I just don't think that the ride there will have been nearly as impressive as either Rock's or Orton's. Jason
