Certainly characters in the Suikoden games are sleeping with each other (Teo McDohl/Sonya Shulen, Blue Lightning Flik/Odessa Silverburg, Jowy Blight/Jillia Blight, etc.) but nothing is shown. It is just mentioned. Unless you count Metal Gear Solid 3, which isn't an RPG but has similarities storywise to them.

I can't really remember the scene much anymore, but basically the lead character and his girlfriend are in her room, and then it cuts out. I can't remember if it is implied from the noises being made from the room, or from a conversation of two other characters as it was supposedly happening, but you pretty much know what they are doing in there. It also had the main villain in an incestuous relationship with his sister, making it one of the weirder RPG's I've played.

I've heard rumors about it, but I honestly haven't seen anything substantial--not an official press release, a screenshot, a real title at all since Lunar Legend. I think a few weeks back the rumors started again, but still nothing concrete. I think both Lunars had their drunken leches in the originals--but not familiar with the Japanese versions, obviously. I'm aware Leo was straight as an arrow while in the US Lunar 2 they hint that he may be gay or bi. How could you guys forget the HOT ESPER-ON-HUMAN ACTION in FFVI?

Then again, most people swear that Yuffie was the only girl to get anything from Cloud (that being a kiss). ...which I think is absolutely stupid. And my God it was an absolute bitch to get Yuffie to be Cloud's date. Oh Working Designs makes really fucking horrid jokes. So so bad.

It was overlooked because it came out with a lot less hype than FFVIII only a year earlier, and it was overshadowed by the PS2 which came out at roughly the same time. If you like FFVI, then you should like FFIX, as we finally return to 4 Character battles and characters with unique jobs (Vivi=Black Mage, Zidane=Thief, etc.). Even if you don't like the story (and I do), the fighting system is far and away the best of the PS1 FFs. Agreed. I've never understood all the hate FF IX was given. It's a good game with a very good story, certainly better than VIII; and I love how they returned to the roots with the story with direct reference to Final Fantasy I.

Sure, there's some bright spots, but it generally just didn't feel as grandoise as other Final Fantasys. With at least every Final Fantasy game, I'm overwhelmed by any aspect of the game. This one was just smack of meh. The music is really the worst out of the PS1 games, the storyline was better than FFVIII till you got a certain point (shit, I forget at what point). The graphics while returning to deformite really made me wince because it didn't really make it look that good but rather bad. The only thing I liked about Final Fantasy IX a lot was the FMVs, but even then I liked FFVIII's way more.

I was glad when I first heard that Tifa had Blitz techniques, but when the game actually came out, I was pissed that they replaced one of the most fun parts of FFVI, executing the Blitz attacks with fighting game motions, with a A FRIGGIN SLOT MACHINE. And yeah, Aeris was just Terra, not done nearly as well, defrosted and reheated. Which is why I never could really care much about her death. That being said--YUFFIE though?!
