In that case, dump'em. Bret should hold out from the HOF until he actually needs the money that he could get from a deal like this. That won't be for a while I imagine unless he makes some crummy business deals with something. The WWE wants Bret Hart bad. It's comical too considering the crap each side has spewed at one another over the years.

Teddy Hart should induct the whole Hart Foundation or Jimmy Hart.

Would he then try to steal the spotlight by doing his trademark moonsault?

He doesn't deserve it though. Had he retired as he had planned and never died in a horrifying manner, he'd be an afterthought in the history of WWF.

Afterthought is harsh. That's like calling DiBiase, Mr. Perfect, and guys on that level an afterthought. Stupid post. Then again, I should be amazed you knew which words to capitalize.

Anyone who wrestled in a Wrestlemania is qualified to be in the WWE HOF. Owen wrestled in 4 or 5 of em.

Bret Hart being offered something by the WWE isn't big news - the guy is instant money and the only sure thing left in the business. When he accepts the offer, then its news.

"Iron man match with HBK and Angle for Mania 22"

Please God, no. Michaels is mediocre (all the bumps, drama were b/c of Shelton this week) and Angle is a shell of himself. An IRON MAN MATCH? Zzzzz.

Steamboat/Rude = Best Iron Man Match ever. WWE can throw their chin-lock filled Iron Man fests all they want with Trips, Benoit, Brock, Angle, Rock, and HBK all they want, but it'll never be good. The fans only pop for the last 10 minutes, like trained seals. Keep HBK and Angle away from each other. They fought. Angle won. Clean. Finish.

A 30-minute Ironman match would be good. A 60-minute would not work. But let them go for 30 minutes, keep it somewhat high-energy, and have LOTS of pinfalls. I'd have Angle take a 4-1 lead with three minutes left, then have HBK go on a MASSIVE run at the end to tie it, or come up just short. Lots of pinfalls is a must.

Strange idea: How about booking a 2/3 Falls Match to go an hour? The fans will be awake for it at least, and actually will have a real winner instead of a goofy "last minute fall" spot.

I don't agree with Volkoff getting in either. Hell, at least 50% of the people in the HOF aren't legends, at least not in my mind.

Hogan and Piper are the only two so far that immediatly spring to mind.

Bobby Heenan, Andre the Giant, Harley Race?

They didn't immediatly come to mind but yeah, they're legends.

It has always been in my belief and many others that the "Iron Man" match is the most contrived and ill-logical gimmick of all gimmicks. The crowd is conditioned and told when the match means something, that being the final 10 minutes. You are telling the crowd and viewers WHEN to pay attention.

I just cant get into a Iron-Man match be it 30 or 60 minutes

Well, some people like to follow the psychology built in the first 50 minutes to see how it plays into the last 10 minutes.

Also, to book a 2/3 Falls to go 60 minutes would IMO be ballsy unless you somehow prepared the fans by saying it was 'no time limit' or by having the announcers talk about how 'these guys might fight all night.'

There is no time limit in WWE though. In 1998-99, yes, they had "20 Minute Time Limits" for undercard matches on Raw (despite every match being 2-5 minutes), and never had official Main event time limits.

I don't see a problem, and it should be between wrestlers who are "well conditioned."

I really do hope Bret accepts (along with Steamboat, Dibiase, Martel, Hennig, Rude, and the Road Warriors being inducted). That way we can get the Ultimate Bret Hart Collection on DVD. :)

I would definitely buy that DVD.

I don't know if Hart and Flair can share the same stage together.

Indeed.

And with 2/3 falls?

Fans are conditioned to expect that the first two falls mean nothing, because it will end up 1-1. It will go to a third, then you find out the real winner. There's been, what, 1 2/3 falls match in WWE to go 2 straight falls?

:::looks at WWE buyrates go down the toilet with Bret as #1 face:::

Okay.

Maybe I'm wrong, but aren't you the guy who likes to point out that a big reason Diesel's reign tanked because the midcard and undercard programs absolutely sucked during that time period?

Never insult the greatness of The Mountie (Jacques Rougeau), especially since he competed at 6, count them 6 Wrestlemanias (3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10). :)

So it's just a coincidence that all the HOF'ers this year were in WM I? And that Greg Valentine and Tito Santana got in by holding secondary titles?

Tito and Greg were both damned good workers and were major parts of the company for some stretches of time.

Yes, they were stretches. But Tito was one of my sleeper faves as a youngster. I LOVED his series with Savage, Muraco, and Valentine.
