What is this song about? When hearing it I figured the singer had just dedicated a song to his sister or something, but after reading the lyrics it seems like he wants to have an incestual relationship with her. Can any fans of the band clue me in here?

Hey sister why you all alone?

I'm standing out your window

Hey little sister, can I come inside, dear?

I wanna show you all my love

I wanna be the only one

I know you like nobody ever, baby

Little sister can't you find another way

No more livin life behind a shadow

You whisper secrets in my ear

Slowly dancing cheek to cheek

it's such a sweet thing when you open up, baby

They say I'll only do you wrong

we come together cause I understand

Just who you really are, baby

Biological sister or figurative sister, that there's a fuckin' song.

I might get the new album actually, Don't think much to the backing of that song but the solo is good and it's short enough not to get annoying. Saw em around the time of Rated R and what I recall was good.

I saw them around the time of Rated R back in 2000, they were simply fantastic then. Not so good unfortunatly 2 years later after Songs for the Deaf had been released, still good, just not as good. Seeing them again this year, it'll be interesting to see what the bands like live without Nick.

The standouts for me personally are 'Everybody Knows That Your Insane', 'Burn the Witch' and 'Someone's In the Wolf' (which is my fav off the album). The softer tracks, which are mostly in the last 1/3 of the album take more time to get into, but I like'em.

I can't understand why some don't like Songs For the Deaf. To me it was a great album, especially the neo-title track (A song for the deaf) as well as 'a song for the dead'. Grohl's drumming was excellent I thought as well.

You should include "I Never Came" and "Long Slow Goodbye". Both are amazing... "In My Head" is really good too. They did it live on SNL tonight, sounded great. They're real tight as a band, you don't see that often anymore on television. There's a lot of groups out there that just play sloppy live, totally detracts from the music... Queens are usually pretty fucking on. "Lost Art" is probly my favorite song.

SFTD was interesting. I liked it, but not as much as R, L2P, and Self-titled. I would probly rank it last as far as Queens albums go, but that doesn't mean I dislike it.

That sums up exactly how I feel on the QOTSA albums.

In particular off the new album, standout tracks for me are: Burn The Witch (I find myself humming this all the time) & Everybody Knows You're Insane.

I loved it, happened to buy it an hour after it came out in my local CD store. Amazing album, it was a recommended release on my radio station, which means I got to spin it all the time for two weeks. I loved Songs for the Deaf, but that's just me.

Josh Homme in Metal Edge:

MetalEdge: Regarding "Little Sister," what was the inspiration for that one? Are you talking to someone you know personally in that song?

Josh Homme: Yeah. I used to know a girl from school who seemed to me to be the type that you'd throw a pebble at her window into at night, and climb up the old oak tree to get into her bedroom. She seemed like the ugly duckling, she was someone where you knew more than she did about her own situation, then she already had everything that she was wishing for. I love it, man, because it's kind of my "Elvis" song, ya' know?

I really have no idea what that means, but the answer to your question might be in there somewhere. It doesn't seem to be about sistersex though.

I'm completely lost on that, but I think he means that she was a dumb rich chick who was hotter than she seemed from what I can gather. But still, its one badass song.
