Exslade ZX Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 - Many backstage are wondering if Brian Gewirtz will return to his role on the WWE creative team after his leave of absence. Gewirtz asked for time off due to being burnt out. Some feel that Gewirtz wants to do other things during his career. WWE has him writing a script for an upcoming WWE Films project, but it remains to be seen if that will be enough to keep him happy. Ed Koskie, who has been second to Gewirtz on the RAW creative team for awhile now, is handling Gewirtz's duties for now. - Steve Taylor, a big part of WWE's set up crew, was released by the company earlier this month. His assistant was also released. Taylor had been with the company since the 80s. The release is being viewed as a cost cutting measure since Taylor was a high paid executive. - Jim Ross is suffering from blurred vision in his right eye, stemming from his match with Triple H on RAW a few weeks back. He is seeing a vision specialist regularly to deal with the problem. [PWTorch.com] - WWE took four takes of the Shawn Michaels/Maria promo from RAW this Monday, meaning the final version was how WWE wanted it to come up. This seems to indicate that Maria's "deer in the headlights" style is intended and not an accident. From 411mania.com, who took it from PWInsider.com and PWTorch.com Mainly posted for the Maria bit. As I had said in the RAW thread, I thought for some reason it was done purposely. So, I guess as they put it, the 'deer in headlights' style really is her gimmick. But damn, it took her 4 takes to play stupid? Lol.
razazteca Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 They should of just kept Terri Runnels if they wanted the "deer in the headlights" interview style.
{''({o..o})''} Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 "Headlights" were also Terri's gimmick.
Spaceman Spiff Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 What the fuck's the point (Maria's gimmick)? We see her for literally 1 minute, why does she need a gimmick? Gewirtz = gone = good.
Youth N Asia Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Yeah, Maria looks hopelessly lost doing interviews, and she basicaly just says a few words to start it and that's it. Why is it that they completly drop people and angles before they have a chance to get over, yet sometimes do just the opposite and let it go on.
Downhome Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 They should of just kept Terri Runnels if they wanted the "deer in the headlights" interview style. Why do we need that style in the first place? It makes WWE look like a shitty second rate fed, especially if it's on purpose.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Instead of thinking of ways to get cute but totally useless interviewers over, why not spend time on trying to get wrestlers over, seeing as they are the ones who actually draw the money.

Promoter Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 For some reason I don't buy this Maria rumour. It's just sounds stupid.

SuperJerk Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 I think the person who did the write up might just have their head up their ass. They wanted her to be that shitty ON PURPOSE? Generally, when you do 4 takes of something, its to make it LESS shitty.

Mole Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Ed Koskie, who has been second to Gewirtz on the RAW creative team for awhile now, is handling Gewirtz's duties for now. So this is the guy that is making Raw better? Gewirtz should never come back.

You forget this is the company that decided that its a good thing to have the SECOND diva search when it was so.......successful last time round

Slickster Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 I wonder how JR and HHH are getting along now that HHH has legit injured another WWE exec.

genius33 Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 I wonder how JR and HHH are getting along now that HHH has legit injured another WWE exec. its not so much that HHH injured JR, rather it was just a bad blade job by someone who i am sure is inexperienced at blading. no worries, HHH is still in good graces, hooray!
Guest thetrendsetter Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 *anger mode* who the f*** gives a chick a ring rat gimmick on camera. *sees picture of maria* bring on the *F**F** rizats
nl5xsk1 Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Major points for the Galileo reference, Lushus.

[PWTorch.com] well, at least he's getting it looked at...maybe he'll finally be able to tell the difference between Jericho and Benoit.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 The Lord of Pains website reports that Captain Lou Albano had a heart attack earlier in the week. It is reported that Lou is in stable condition and is expected to be released from the hospital the end of the week. Let's all say I prayer for Captain Lou's quick recovery.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 I just figured that they were going to used it as a platform to give Edge a namechange to THE EDGE!

Carnival Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 JR can confuse anyone with Chris Jericho. I can't wait for the day he confuses Lawler with Jericho.
nl5xsk1 Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 I just figured that they were going to used it as a platform to give Edge a namechange to THE EDGE! Agreed. The same with Rocky Maivia became "The Rock" to show his vain/pompous heel persona, Edge becomes "The Edge".
cabbageboy Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 Hey I agree with Maria...The Edge is a lot cooler sounding than merely Edge. Edge sounds like shaving gel. The Edge sounds much cooler, although already a rock star.
Dangerous A Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 I just figured that they were going to used it as a platform to give Edge a namechange to THE EDGE! Agreed. The same with Rocky Maivia became "The Rock" to show his vain/pompous heel persona, Edge becomes "The Edge". After some thought, I wholeheartedly agree with these sentiments. Also, if Rock ever came back for another one match deal while "The" Edge was on top, you have a match up of pompous heel versus pompous face. Speaking of Edge, I get this haunting feeling if they put Edge and Lita together, their heel heat will blow HHH's out of the water. (which it does now even with them apart, but together it could be nuclear) Can any of you see HHH doing some backstage burial skits with these guys a la Christian from the England Raw taping? HHH is very insecure and I don't think he's about to let Edge and Lita overtake him as top heel.
King Cucaracha Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 He was called 'The Edge' when he debuted. I'm assuming they didn't want to get sued by U2.
