Lord of The Curry Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 As I mentioned in an earlier thread, I just went back to eating meat after a 5 year hiatus. I've already gone through the basics of turkey, chicken and burgers but now I need something more. BBQ'd, fried, baked, whateverthefuckever. Gimme.
Nighthawk Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Alligator. Not the easiest thing to find, but you won't regret it.
Beast Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I don't know if you'd call this "basic", but if you haven't yet, get some goddamn filet mignon! What are you waiting for?! Now! And get some for me, biatch! MMMMMM TASTY!
Lord of The Curry Posted June 14, 2005 Author Report Posted June 14, 2005 Alligator. Not the easiest thing to find, but you won't regret it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tried it before, very good stuff. We've actually got a KC's Bar and Grill around here that serves alligator poppers, similar to the popcorn chicken things they've got at KFC.

I had some in New Orleans and it was one of the highlights of my trip. If you're not adverse to seafood, a grilled steak of Marlin can be delicious.
Lord of The Curry Posted June 15, 2005 Author Report Posted June 15, 2005 I'm kinda picky with my seafood but I've tried marlin before and didn't mind it. Grilled shark steaks are delicious.
razazteca Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 You need to get some deer meat and smoke it for a day with some good wood or throw some brisket on the BBQ for 12 hours.
yankovic fan Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 I had some alligator last week. Of course I live in a region where the meat is abundant. You should go to an Outback steak house and order the Melbourne steak.
Special K Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 BBQ pulled pork. Ahi tuna cooked rare. Veal. Grab a gyro from somewhere good. (lamb/beef mix)
Dangerous A Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 Filet Mignon, cooked medium. You don't even need steaksauce or extra seasoning as long as the meat isn't too old.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 Buffalo = expensive but low in fat with all the taste of beef. Turducken (popular around thanksgiving) = Cajun favorite consisting of a chicken stuffed in a duck stuffed in a turkey.
Special K Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 God, who could have thought up the turduken besides Prudhomme.
The Dames Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 Now, I'm a picky eater and after 24 years, its starting to get VERY stale and boring. What does alligator taste like??? Dames
Special K Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 I thought it tasted somewhat similar to duck, but not greasy. It's sort of hard to describe. I want to try rattlesnake. It's supposed to be delicious.
Mystery Eskimo Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 If you want to branch into seafood, swordfish is delicious.
Red Baron Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 If you want to branch into seafood, swordfish is delicious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed, especially if you sprinkled some lemon juice on it. Emu > Ostrich. If you can find it, bear is awesome if cooked right.
Lord of The Curry Posted June 23, 2005 Author Report Posted June 23, 2005 Grilled steak is officially in the books.
gWIL Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 So what made you start eating meat again? I myself haven't ate meat in a year and half.
CanadianGuitarist Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Gator tastes like chicken. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, not gator. You're thinking of everything else. I found it to taste like veal. And Baron, I'm not calling you a liar, but where the fuck did you get bear? Ah, you're Hungarian. Forgot. Can you make some goulash next time we're over? That's good shit.
Lord of The Curry Posted July 3, 2005 Author Report Posted July 3, 2005 I destroyed my first double-quarter pounder with cheese tonight.
