iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Literally every single match had at least one moment that totally blew me away as I marked out the entire night, but let's see if we can cut it down to one single moment. Sandman's entrance with the crowd signing the lyrics. That totally fucking blew me away. Great touch of Styles/Foley didn't do any commentary and let the picture speak for itself. Sandman taking the Kendo Stick and jacking off towards the WWE guys was hilarious. And D-Von Dudley breaking character and dancing to the music. And major props for getting the authentic "Enter Sandman" and not some knockoff version created by WWE. It felt like I was at a rock concert, and I wasn't even there. Discuss away. DMann2003 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 I 100% second your moment. I loved seeing Beullah come to Tommy's rescue and her and Tommy (blood soaked) sharing an embrace (I'll forgive her messed up DDT on Bubba Ray).
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 My favorite part of the ppv is when the crowd chanted f*ck you Smackdown! To hear several thousand people chant that at once was amazing
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 - Paul E. getting emotional in the ring (and the smoking a joint with RVD comment) - Joey Styles crying as he opened the show -Seeing Tommy Dreamer back in action

Twisted Intestine 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Sandman's entrance being sung was my favourite as well. An out there moment that wasn't mentioned, is the look on Austin's face when he was counting down from 10. I haven't seen that look in awhile. Maybe I just haven't seen Austin in a while. Guest JumpinJackFlash Report post Posted June 16, 2005 After the Dreamer/Sandman vs. Dudleys match, when Sandman went up to the hurt Dreamer. You think he was going to say "Some one get the EMTs!", but no, he says, "SOMEBODY GET ME A BEER!" Freaking Hilarious!

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 I might have to say Joey Styles just trashing Mike Awesome for leaving ECW the way he did, only to praise the hell out of him by the end of that match. I'm surprised no one has said Bischoff getting his ass kicked.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 The bWo coming out. I still say the bWo should stay for good. Let Richards lead, let Nova be Hollywood Nova, and bring back Meanie. EDIT: Oh, and Taz(z) coming out to his final ECW theme.

Styles 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Joey Styles: "Kid Kash is Mr. TNA: Total Nonstop...Attitude". Got to think that one will be edited off the DVD. Taz coming out to his old War Machine theme instead of his WWE song like others did was a big markout moment.

Superfly Snuka 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Without a doubt, seeing Joey Styles getting choked up when he first came out was the highlight for me because right then I knew this was a real ECW PPV and the emotion was not going to be faked on any level. Second, wasn't definitely seeing Beulah. I only had three complaints about the whole show: 1. Not using "Walk" for RVD's entrance. I don't understand how they couldn't use it for the PPV and just edit off the DVD (I mean ECW did that all the time during their PPVs and I'm sure they didn't pay royalities; do you even have to pay royalties if you don't use it on a DVD?) The image of everyone doing the RVD gestures during walk was a sight to behold back in the day. 2. Taz not locking in the kat hajime in the middle of the ring on angle. Taz was definitely the focus of the ECW vs WWE fight at the end, but after his entrance, you really didn't see him or angle after the fight started. 3. No classic Gertner speech. Ced 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Tanaka and Awesome killing each other. I got what I really wanted to see and that's Tanaka no-sell the chairshots Second place goes to the Sandman entrance, complete with authentic "Enter Sandman" theme. I would've laughed my ass off if they had Dreamer get his ass kicked by the Dudleys while Sandman got his prematch buzz. I'm also disappointed in the lack of "Walk" for RVD's entrance. Couldn't they have lined a few more pockets so we could get the whole crowd to do the thumbs to self at the chorus?

haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 My favorite part was the Mike Awesome/Masato Tanaka match. The Awesome Bomb over the top, through the table, wouldve sufficed as a match finish, then Awesome just jumped over the ropes and dived onto Tanaka, and that was all I needed to see. MIKE AWESOME IS THE FUCKING MAN!!!!!

Scroby 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 I have a few.... 1. Sandman's enterance...God how I missed that, always seemed like a giant party to me. 2. Joey Styles coming out and some of the comments he made. 3. The crowd...God I miss those chants 4. Awesome vs Tanaka, WWE seriously needs to sign these two. I was seriously surprised when the WWE let Awesome go the first time around. They'd both be great for Smackdown. 5. Dudleys vs Dreamer/Sandman 6. Lance Storm's retirement match (maybe) and finally 7. Paul Fucking Heyman
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 If I had to sum it up: "Hey John. Since were shooting, the only reason you were the WWE champion a year is because HHH didn't want to work Tuedays." I like the entire PPV and that is a rare thing to say. There was at least one good thing about everything done at the PPV.

Afterall, you have 2 guys who havent been brainwashed to the punch-kick-chinlock routine. Sure Awesome got a small injury to his leg from the match, but thats the price these guys pay to entertain us. I have nothing but respect for both Awesome and Tanaka after this match (I was already a huge Awesome fan before this). I hope we get to see them go at it one more time, balls out, just how it should be done.
Guest JMA Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Heyman and RVD's shoots were both gold. RVD cut the best promo of his career, and he buried the shitty WWE writing team. But my favorite match was Tanaka vs. Awesome, with Storm vs. Jericho in a close second. I thought that Jericho looked better than he has in a long while. His moves were just so fluid and graceful. Storm deserves props for that match as well, he didn't show any signs of ring-rust.
Guest AdamF Report post Posted June 16, 2005 do you even have to pay royalties if you don't use it on a DVD?) . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Technically, yes. Could you get away with it anyway? Probably. If you are putting on a PPV, you are charging people money to see the show. If you are selling DVDs, you are charging people money to see the show. There's a few loopholes, but generally it's a pretty fine line you walk. I used to work for a professional sports team, and we had to pay thousands of dollars per year to be able to play real music in the stadium during games. Yup, you even have to pay to do that. Garry Glitter must be a rich man indeed, even though it's no longer 1975.
Papacita 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 Hands down Tommy and Beulah's reunion, mainly because Beulah was the absolute LAST person I expected to show up. Honest to God, if before the show you had come to me with Shane Douglas and Beulah and said one of these two would be appearing on the show, I'd have said Shane. In fact, when Dawn came out with Lance Storm for his match I was thinking to myself how much of a shame it was that they couldn't do the same to Tommy and Beulah, so when she actually came down I marked out BIG! Hell, that's my markout moment for the year so far. Second would be the Styles/Bischoff commentary bit that HTQ brought up. That was Shane McMahon on Nitro-type surreal to me...and funny as hell on top of that. Third would be probably the Awesome Bomb from the ring apron through the table. That was nasty.
