Challenge Made To JBL

Recommended Posts

I haven' t seen this posted anywhere but I was on myspace the other day and Blue Meanie posted the following link:

Shoot Challenge

It takes you to a video of Tracy Smothers making a shoot challenge to Bradshaw. I have heard stories of Tracy being a pretty bad dude when it comes to a legit fight and being a very strong man. Watch and discuss.

I demand a Brawl-for-All between JBL and Smothers to satisfy my morbid curiosity of who's better at going into business for themselves when the chips are down, winner faces Bob Holly.

As valiant as Tracey Smothers' intents are (who wouldn't like a piece of JBL for what he did?), I echo the sentiments of the guy earlier who thought Smothers wouldn't have a chance with JBL.

How old is Smothers now? Late-40s?

Age doesn't matter, I know a sixty plus year old man that could whoop Bradshaw's ass simply because he's a tough old bastard. Tracy Smothers has probably seen his fair share or brawls before and to put up all that... well, I can't imagine anyone doing that unless they were certain they'd kick ass and win.

Publicity ... He knows that WWE management would not allow something like this

I think making public challenges for fights went out of style when Axl Rose & Vince Neil were calling each other out in the 80s ... if Smothers wants a piece of JBL, I'm sure he knows how to get in touch with him and can ask him to meet in a dark alley somehere.

Public challenges are teh suck.

I don't think they allowed Orton, Edge or JBL's past actions either, but it doesn't mean they didn't occur. Besides, the only publicity Smothers will get is talk in wrestling circles, it's not going to get him more bookings or any serious media coverage either.

Any publicity is good plus i don't know maybe he will use the "Yeah JBL fears me, he didn't answer my challenge" to increase his image (..). I guess he's own biggest mark

I wouldn't say he's his own biggest mark, I'd say he's sticking his nose in a friend's fight because he knows that he's got a better chance against said-friend's "enemy'.

New Jack is even scared to death of Smothers, if that tells you anything. Smothers is one crazy mutha and I'd pay to see he and JBL fight it out.

I'm not going to challenge the legitimacy of Smother's toughness and ability to hold his own in a street fight since it's been confirmed by a ton of wrestlers, but challenging someone via video just screams lame. He's got connections in the wrestling business, so he isn't going to be hard to find. If he really wants a piece of JBL, just go find him and take care of business. No need to grandstand a challenge.

I posted this, as well as a link to a fan-cam video of JBL shooting on Meanie in the ECW thread.

For what it's worth from someone who knows the guy slightly and has heard a LOT of stories about him, Tracy Smothers would fucking kill Bradshaw in a fight, hands-down. And knowing Tracy, he didn't make the challenge because he wanted the publicity, he made it because he really MEANT it. He just did it publicly so everyone would know about it, because of course JBL ain't gonna answer some indy worker's challenge. I for one wouldn't be surprised if a year or two from now I hear about some altercation between the two at a bar or an airport or something.

My money is on Tracy Smothers, would never happen though, it'd be a PR nightmare for WWE.

It's not hard to find JBL.

Just call up one of the smackdown wrestlers such as Nunzio and find out WHERE they are going to be on a certain date and in the area and most likely the hotel bar, you will find JBL.

Smothers though a legit tough guy issued the challenge just to make JBL look weak.

Didn't Bradshaw feud with Smothers in WWF when he was "Justin Hawk" and Smothers was "Freddy Joe Floyd"? That's kind of funny.

Anyway, I'd have to agree with Jingus and pick Smothers to win in a fight. But it might just be better if a group of WWE wrestlers ambush Bradshaw in his hotel room and shove a broomstick up his ass.

Yes, thats a fantastic idea. And are you a lawyer nominating yourself to defend Tracy Smothers when JBL and the E charges him for assualt and sues him?

JBL won't accept this, he only likes attacking from the rear.

Anyway, Smothers seems like a geuinely stand-up guy. Even if JBL doesn't accept (and I think it's most likely that he won't), I'm still glad that Smothers got some shots in on him.
