Personally, The Smashing Pumpkins were never really my cup of tea. I do like they're cover of Depeche Modes "Never Let Me Down Again" however.

Ill be surprised to find out that James Iha is with this. D'arcy is really doubtful as well, being a crackhead and all but theres still Melissa Auf Der Maur. Billy says Jimmy Chamberlin so we can count him in.

Whatever happens...Id love to see 'Smashing Pumpkins' live, I never got the chance when they were together.

The live thing is the best thing about a reunion of SP. But I saw them live in Stockholm and for a band I absolutely adore (HA!) it wasn't overwhelming. But it was outside and freezing cold so that might be part of the problem.

But I think they put out quality records all the way to the end so I'd prefer a reunion over more Zwan. I still think Billy has a strong(er) solo album in him though.

If they reunite I hope James Iha doesn't drop out of Vanessa and the O's. I don't know how much it will do for the Pumpkinheads but I love it. Check out an ace track here> Vanessa and the O's - Bagatelle (streamed)

Have a listen and comment on it.

I think the later Pumpkins stuff (Adore, Machina) is terribly underrated. It seems like the same thing as Pearl Jam ("it sucks cuz its not Jeremy", "it sucks cuz its not Today") with their more recent releases.

To Sheila, Perfect, Stand Inside Your Love, Try Try Try, Age of Innocence, and others were really great songs.

I didn't like the Machina stuff but I definitely think Adore is a great album. Okay, good album, better than Infinite Sadness which should have been made on one album. Siamese Dream is the best, I don't really remember Gish, only listened to it a couple of times. Didn't really stick out.

EDIT: Just read the article. Never mind.

I liked the Pumpkins mostly for their awesome guitar work. Without James Iha it's going to be a real stretch. And last I heard, they were still talking shit to each other over the net about the Pumpkins breakup as recently as like a year and a half ago.
