TheBostonStrangler 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 Rescued After 15 Hours I'm in California now before I fly back to Boston tomorrow. However, I'm gonna be on CNN tomorrow morning on their early show at some point. I'm gonna milk those 15 minutes of fame for all they're worth, baby. And no, I will NOT plug the SWF on CNN. Ace309 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 Can I at least get a shoutout? And can someone tape it and vidcap it for those of us who lack cable?

Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 That's, uh, truly bizarre. Way to...not die. I'll be in planes tomorrow but I'll see if they show you in the airport.
Toxxic 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 He [strangler] told KGMB-TV that he was thrown off the watercraft by a large wave and that it drifted away before he could swim to it. I hate it when waves drift away before I can swim to them. Way to go TBS - you kept your head, AND your trousers.
TheBostonStrangler 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 The show runs from 7 AM - 10 AM EST. I think I'll be on in the tail end of the program, around 9:30 AM EST or so. I'm on the West Coast right now, and I'm taping the interview before the show starts, so I'll be doing the interview around 3:30 AM PST, which should be a nice strain on my sleep-deprived system. And Johnny, I actually thought about those damn Lost At Sea matches I booked when I was stuck out there. Fitting that it would happen to me, huh?
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 I'm not seeing what the big deal is; I spent a month and a half floating in the Pacific Ocean...

muzz 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 "He was sitting on top of his life jacket which was actually a good move on his part," said Pablo Lagarde of the Coast Guard. "If he was submerged with his life jacket, all we could see was his head." Way to go Pat.

the.weej 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 All right, so I just saw the interview. First off, TBS looks absolutely nothing like I would've pictured. Apparently he passed a picture around that I never got to see, so I guess for those of you who are still wondering, he could probably pass for Thoth's brother under bad light. Seriously, I'm not even kidding. Secondly, I couldn't help giggling over his own - as he might describe - "internet accent," mixed slightly with the New England one we all knew had to be there. I also really enjoyed the "Wow I'm on TV" face you made through the whole interview. But seriously, I think Edwin summed it up the best. Good work not dying; I think if it became apparent to must of us that we were stranded in the middle of the ocean we would've started panicking and then, y'know, drowning in the first 30 minutes. -Z

Angel_Grace_Blue 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 I missed it as well. For those that did see it, make it into a MS Paint cartoon, or use dfilm.com Anyone remember when I used to make those 'movies' on dfilm? Good times.
devo 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/...1/ln/ln16p.html That site features a pic of Strangler and one of a woman pointing at a chart. Very nice. Yeah, TBS doesn't look a thing like I pictured. That's not to say he isn't a handsome fellow, though.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 "Hannon said he began flailing in the water to get away — exactly what experts tell swimmers not to do when confronted with a shark." That made me laugh.
