Matt Young 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2005 Supposedly, Impact is supposed to air on tnawrestling.com. However, I visited the site, and there is no way that I have seen to view the show. Am I just missing something obvious, or what?
Fro 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2005 It's supposedly going to be up sometime today on the website. Some admins on the TNA forum said it was supposed to be up at 4 PM EST, which obviously isn't the case.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2005 I wasn't sure if it would be streaming live or if it would be available for access anytime. I guess I'll just have to wait. Thanks for the help.
BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2005 June 24th, 2005 19:40 Due to a minor technical issue, we have had to delay airing Impact on the website until later tonight. We apologize and appreciate everyone's patience. The issue we are addressing will allow fans to download the show in half the time for a huge file of this size. - Bill Banks

Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2005 DL speed is slow as FUCK, 5kb per for me, and I can support about 100x that. I'm not surprised though, I figured the delay involved something like this. I'll just let someone else do the dirty work and wait for a torrent

TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2005 After 3 Impacts with the new committee, I have to say thumbs up. The show just seems to be so much more of an event. I like the way they introduced the Mitchell/Abyss pair and set up next month's main event, which btw may be the freshest one on one title match that TNA has delivered since AJ/D'Lo. I hope these guys have a prolonged feud and not just the one and done Jarrett style defense. I don't know where else they are headed for the pay per view, other than subtly planting the seeds for a Jarrett/Hardy confrontation, which I also think is a good move. Nothing will get him over a face quicker than shutting up Jarrett. The show featured the usually 2 good decent length matches, plus a fun Shark Boy match and a Joe squash that served it's purpose. It was a headache to download (I ended up having to download it from a guy on the TNA fan forum), and I had to find the temptation to surf the web because I'm not used to watching wrestling on my computer, so the format clearly has some kinks to work out, but the show itself was a winner IMO. I hope the difficulties this week will illustrate to TNA why they should beef up the syndicated network as a temporary solution. I'm certain it will be cheaper than being on FSN and it would make life easier until Spike *hopefully.* If they get back on a couple of regional networks like the deal they have with Sunshine (at one time, Xplosion was on Sunshine, Comcast Sports South and a regional network in Buffalo I believe...that's a pretty good start to a syndicated network), they might be able to weather the dark period. The shows have to be good though, or people won't go through the trouble of searching for it or downloading it.

Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 Is it just on my PC that the viewer TNA give you for can't cope with it and crashes then? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It worked fine for me. No idea why TNA felt the need to go with a new software. It's not like it's a good quality broadcast.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 Is it just on my PC that the viewer TNA give you for can't cope with it and crashes then? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I get that too. All I get is the player displaying "Loading", and then nothing happens for a long time and I have to shut the player down. Very annoying.

Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 Wow. That was a good show. There were sound issues, but everything had its purpose (except, debatably, Shark Boy vs. David Young but that was fun and energetic so I don't care) and I am REALLY looking forward to Raven/Abyss (and Raven and Mitchell not only bringing up past events but continually trying to one-up each other on the mic was very fun). I honestly think I might order No Surrender if I can get the money together. I'm really excited by TNA's direction right now, and I haven't felt that way since like August '03. I just hope this isn't a case of too little, too late.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 I ended up watching this on Sunshine Network last night as they have appeared to drop Explosion now and have strictly Impact as their syndicated show - although it's irrelevant since Xplosion was a glorified episode of Impact with promos in between matches by Borash and Douglas. Anyway the show was WAY better than I thought it would be. Storm-Shane and Skipper-Daniels were strong matches for a one hour show, and generally everything pretty much clicked. Consider me surprised!
Carnival 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 I liked the Abyss/Mitchell/Raven stuff..I would be more insterested in a match between the 2 if there wasn't a gimmick attached to it. One question, Why the fuck did the ref count a pinfall on Delerious while Joe had him in a choke hold?

Garth 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 I think the reasom the ref counted would have been that Joe's shoulders were down. However, I'm not going to verify this as it takes an age to load up the video in the player I've got. I thought it was a good Impact, in fact its the first I've ever sat all the way through and watched, so I feel this is quite the achievement. I liked that they had two decent lengthed matchs, the other two served their purposes: to expose those that didn't order Slammiversary to "The Samoan Submission Machine" and to get Sharkboy on TV while he's somewhat hot from his lawsuit. I really enjoyed the Raven/Abyss/Mitchell stuff and am excited to see where this is take on Impact the next few weeks.
Fro 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 One question, Why the fuck did the ref count a pinfall on Delerious while Joe had him in a choke hold? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He never counted a pinfall. Delirious tapped out and West screwed up and said "ONE TWO THREE". Watch it, the ref doesn't make a count (although Delirious tapping kind of sounds like the start of a 3-count). BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 This codec they are using is shit. For the same size they could have got a file that was actually watchable with xvid/divx.

They could a series of vignettes, where he grows up from being 'Shark Boy' and somehow becomes 'Shark Man'. Have someone who's doing nothing of note vow to make Shark Boy a man. The 'teacher' shows him how to shave (with mask on), get him his first kiss...stuff like that. They can form a tag team in the meantime and win a few matches. But as he becomes a man, Sharky begins to become a nastier person. He starts to cheat in matches, then turns on his partner. Bada-bing, bada-boom.
Garth 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2005 I really want to see that happen now. I wouldn't be against them getting New Jack in to fill that roll so they can reprise their tag team from a couple of years ao.
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2005 Bill Banks said on the TNA fan forum that starting next week the shows will stream, so hopefully this works better than last week's plan. Here's his post: Hey all, I just wanted to give everyone the news first in the Impact Community that on Tuesday afternoon we signed a deal with Real Networks (maker of the Real Player) to air Impact online beginning this Friday. The good news – instantaneous, streaming of Impact One sidenote – you will all have to download a free copy of RealPlayer beforehand to watch it. To download the RealPlayer, please go to www.real.com and click on the “RealPlayer Free Download” area to the right… Once you have downloaded RealPlayer, we will have a link up on the website this Friday starting at 4PM ET and continuing throughout the week to click on to watch the Impact stream. We will have a complete release on the deal with Real Networks up tomorrow on the website. Bill Banks
