There has been communication between Matt Hardy and WWE management in the past two weeks. He has been told that he should delay signing the TNA contract until Vince McMahon can decide what kind of offer if any he wants to make for his return. Hardy has been up front with TNA about his needing time to make a final decision. Hardy asked a crowd at an indy show in Chicago last weekend where he was signing autographs whether he should return to WWE or sign with TNA. The crowd chanted "TNA, TNA" There were also "f--- Vince" chants... Hardy and Lita have been on good terms lately, but are not by any means a couple at this time. Lita and Edge are not together; Edge is working on fixing his marriage instead...

 

-----Sounds like the same shit they pulled with James Gibson in "holding out" on TNA until WWE decides what to do. Hardy would be a fool to sit and wait IMO.

From a financial standpoint, he'd be a fool not to wait to see what WWE might do. TNA may not even exist in the next 60 days. WWE has a potentially hot feud waiting for him.

 

Personally, I think he waits until WWE gives him an offer or tells him no thanks.

Thats what it appears he is doing, going to wait, at least for awhile until he figures out their real plan of action. Keller reported in an audio update on his site that TNA has a relatively lucrative contract out for him right now too, as they know if they sign him, it should in theory generate some serious interest in the company. At the same time its been reported he's also stopped taking any other bookings as well, so everything is kind of on a hold until he hears back from WWE. I would imagine though that he wouldnt wait forever, 2-3 weeks at best.

 

Part of me is surprised he is even considering a WWE return given the past and the fact that they would clearly want him to do a worked feud with Edge over a very real situation. How he could be comfortable with that is questionable at best and, as I've said in the TNA folder, is open ground for complete unprofessionalism in the ring between either/or/both Edge and Hardy. But god damn, you know I'd still love to see it.

I think we will see it, this would garner ratings, I truly think it would, just keep up the Hardy references, and If Hardy is smart he will come back and work...maybe throw a few stiff shots in there, but...whooo, That'd be superb.

I think Edge would have more to lose if he went off the deep end and got unprofessional in the ring. So if any funny stuff were to go down, it'd probrably be from Hardy. You figure Hardy has probrably learned his lesson and won't be looking to fuck up a rare second chance from WWE. If they can get Matt on board by early-mid July to get him ready for SumSlam, I bet a Hardy-Edge matchup at SumSlam could carry that show to a very lucrative buyrate. I'm willing to be a diddle eyed joe to a damned if I know (Tarantino reference) that the playing of Hardy's music at the faux wedding was a test to see if the crowd is still hot for Matt. Let's see if there is a follow up.

You could tell that they hated each just because of how stiff they were, especially in the famous match from GAB in 96.

IIRC the whole deal with Benoit and Nancy getting together was predicated in part from Sullivan insisting they spend time together in public, etc, to play into their feud, moreless not to break kayfabe. So to say they were working just fine against each other after the fact I dont think is correct since the whole affair was happening during and then after that feud - it wasn't a feud that was developed FROM or AFTER the affair. Plus they were both working stiff as shit against each other, sure it made for a great series of matches but it certainly was not "civil" in the first place. The fact that their matches were so good was probably, in retrospect, because there was some underlined legit heat between the two there in the first place.

 

Regardless of that, seeing whats gone down and more importantly, what WWE has been having Edge and Lita doing on screen together, is just intensifying things - not just setting things up in terms of intensifying a potential feud with Hardy/Edge (which is great for business if Hardy returns, but got to be so tough for Hardy to sit through) but add the reality that Edge, as part of his job, is getting to actually almost rub this whole situation that happened into the face of Hardy by being allowed to kiss Lita on screen, etc. It's just a strange, albeit totally intruiging, situation. Thats why it would most definately have to draw, or even to take it a step further, that's why Hardy even going to TNA would probably draw.

 

All I know is if Hardy returns, it sure will be interesting TV. I could definately see Hardy would lose it sooner or later though in a match or angle and could possibly get fired again, because who knows what the writers would script Edge to say or do as well as Lita. It's almost could become a game of the writers provoking things in a way, or at least could be taken to that point when/if an Edge/Hardy feud ever went down. Then again, it could turn into a ironic twist of fate if they just outright let Hardy shoot on Edge in the ring as some sort of "payback" for him.

It's obvious half the stuff he's said, or done over the internet has just been for attention, more then likely, but I don't really consider shooting pictures, or riding over pictures of a person in your car as a sign of 'good terms'...

Matt comparing himself to Bret Hart was a favourite of mine. I think Matt saying "oh I'm willing to work with Edge for the love of the business" is another way of making him look better than Edge. All his little fangirls (and fanboys) will think "wow, Matt's such a trooper". It would be interesting to see if he's actually willing to or if he's just a whole lot of talk.

I wouldn't mind him seeing back. It'd be very interesting to see him on TV, but after they do this angle, what would he do next. Would they actually use him effectively or just put him in more lita involved angles or just not do anything with him at all.

 

Its a bit of a weird situation, i mean, he gets cheated on and the company that he worked his backside off for sacks him while he's injured. Not only that but they use a real life situation that occured and turned it into a storyline for their audience to view. Wouldn't Edge be the one feeling more uncomfortable with the situation? he was the one who lost his wife over the situation...Matt only lost a gf and his job which if he gets back then there is no reason to cry about it and it would have all turned out great because now he would get a chance to shine with some big angle that WWE probably wouldn't have given him before. Edge was going to be on top anyways but he lost his wife.

I've always predicted that Edge'll cheat on Lita and, in her heartbreak, she'll go back to Matt.

 

Especially as Matt said Lita almost got herself into a situation she didn't want to be in. So she'll catch some sense once Edge cheats on her (probably with somebody's wife) and Matt and Lita'll be loved-up again.
