Hunter's Torn Quad Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 -As was originally reported Tuesday in the WWE Newswire in the latest Torch Newsletter, Brian Gewirtz's last day with the WWE writing team was Monday. The head Raw writer heading into this week, Gewirtz is now moving to the movie script division of WWE. Sources say Gewirtz was burned out from the grind and ready for a creative change. Guest Brian Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 Wow, everything is going to be so great now. It's almost as great as putting Paul Heyman in charge. OH MY!
RavishingRickRudo Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 As long as Steph is in charge, there really won't be any difference 'cept the "comedy" won't be as "funny". Vince needs someone to challenge him and give him a nice big dose of reality and as long as she is there everything will get sugarcoated.
Guest Vitamin X Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 Maybe Heyman gets a bigger role in the creative team now? This sounds like great news.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted July 2, 2005 Author Report Posted July 2, 2005 This sounds like great news. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Until you actually think about things, and realise it ultimately means nothing at all.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 Since I hate HHH and I know he's married to Steph and has Vince's ear, nothing will really change.
RavishingRickRudo Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 And that Steph hates Heyman and she's still director of creative, so there is no way Heyman will ever be a significant influence on the shows for an extended period of time (sure, he'll threaten to leave and they'll pay him to come back and use him for a month or two and then find some reason to put him back in his "advisory" position, but in the long run it won't make a lick of difference.) Nothing will change in the WWE unless some outside force gets them to change. So pray for Steph and HHH to become christians and leave the business or for a plane crash with both of them on it, because time won't solve anything - it hasn't for the past 5 years and it won't for the next 5.
iliketurtles Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 This was posted a few weeks ago, but glad it went through. You know, he's actually leaving the wrestling side so he can go make some shitty scripts for Austin to try to save in the movies, so at least it's not on RAW anymore.
Kizzo Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 Want change a thing....she will probaly promote Gerwitz's assistant to the head writer position on RAW.......
PLAGIARISM! Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 Things reeeally aren't all that bad right now.
Guest Coffey Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 Things reeeally aren't all that bad right now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree, although there's still some shit that I don't like. For example, Viscera/Lilian, Diva Search 2, McCool/Melina, etc.
razazteca Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 So who is the next hollywood hack to take charge of the company.....the head writer for the Ellen Show?
MillenniumMan831 Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 I guess the writer from Knight Rider will have to step up his game . . . whoever he is.
CBright7831 Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 This is the greatest post-vacation news ever!
Guest Angora Jellyfish Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 I dont really see what the big deal is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The IWC has reached consensus on two things. The first is Christ Benoit. The second is Brian Gerwitz is a campy, fart joke writing, piss poor writer. I see you're late to the party. EDIT: Pretty impressive considering there isn't even consensus on how to spell Gewirtz's name.

Dimensions Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Why hasn't HHH knocked up Steph yet so she can be out for a few months...and maybe then Vince will see what's up.
iggymcfly Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 The business goes in cycles. Every ten years or so, you get some huge star like Vince Russo that comes in and fixes everything and takes the business to levels it's never seen before. However, no one actually knows when the next Vince Russo will be hired. In the meantime, we just have to put up with what we've got.
Guest Brian Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Vince Russo fixed the business? That's laughable.
AlaskanHero Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 I'd say Russo helped with saving WWE. Vince did the writing, McMahon kept him in control for the most part, and Austin ended up being wildly successful in addition to having a large cast of charismatic characters to work with. It took a combined effort of a writer, Vince, and workers to make the Attitude Era successful. Oh and a shitload of luck. Can't forget about that. Eventually there'll be another boom, as it does move in cycles (The parallel to now is the post-Hogan era, pushing guys with gimmicks that were successful, going back to old ideas, and having a dominant backstage politician who really isn't helping things), the question is when the cycle will return to the boom, as there's no guarentee that WWE will still exist to take advantage of it. Now to get back on topic. Honestly I can't bring myself to care about Gewirtz leaving. He's only one guy on a writing team that consists of people just like him. Just less funny.
Dark Age Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 The cycle stuff is such a load of crap. If the writing is good enough, if there are interesting characters, etc then people will tune in. It's just that they've never really had that for a sustained amount of time. Hence the cycle bullshit.
Twisted Intestine Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Where do people pull this "cycle" stuff from? What Cycle!? Hogan boom .. dead .. Austin boom .. dead That's a cycle!? It's hardly large enough to be a pattern.
Kizzo Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 There is no cycle......if you have good writing and interesting storylines....people will tune in.......bottom line....that goes for any show... And if they do find a Russo or a new Kreski...it will NOT make a difference because Steph will still be the creative director....
Guest news_gimmick Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 I also think the cycle is bullshit, because if the guys at the top would step off the top spot and help continue a successful cycle of talent to keep the shows fresh, the business would be fine. However the guys with the top spots never relinquish the spot, and thus the company gets stale finding ways to keep them at the top and thats basically where we are at now. That is really what it comes down too when you think about it.
humongous2002 Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 So who is the next hollywood hack to take charge of the company.....the head writer for the Ellen Show? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah, the writer from the A-team.
Guest Super Pissed Smark Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Why hasn't HHH knocked up Steph yet so she can be out for a few months...and maybe then Vince will see what's up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What are the Side Effects? Steroid abusers subject themselves to more than 70 side effects ranging in severity from liver cancer to acne and encompassing psychological as well as physical reactions. The parts of the body that are most seriously affected by steroids are the liver and the cardiovascular and reproductive systems. In males, steroids can cause withered testicles, sterility, and impotence. In females, irreversible masculine traits can develop along with menstrual irregularities, breast reduction, and sterility. Psychological effects in both sexes include aggressive, combative behavior known as "`roid rage" and depression. Some side effects may not show up for years, such as heart attacks and strokes, and some might not even be recognized as side effects, such as failure to achieve full height potential because of arrested bone development during adolescence.
