RedJed 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 Announced for the Great American Bash: - Melina vs. Torrie in a Bra & Panties match. - MNM defending the tag titles against Heidenreich & Road Warrior Animal. - Christian vs. Booker T. - Orlando Jordan defending the U.S. Title against Chris Benoit. - Undertaker vs. Muhammad Hassan. - World Champion Batista vs. JBL. ---If thats the entire card, that's not strong at all. Desperately needs a Rey-Eddy gimmick match added to the card and something with the Mexicools/London/Etc.

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 When's the PPV? I can understand holding off on the Eddie/Rey blowoff, but we need a London/Mexicool match. What do Eddie and Rey do if they aren't fighting each other? 24th. They've still got another Smackdown left to go before GAB. It'll likely be Juvi vs. London for the belt and it'll likely be Juvi going over. I'm sure Eddie/Rey will have something too.
gWIL 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 I think they'll save Juvi/London as Juvi seems to be the mouthpiece and instead go with London/Super Crazy (which I'd rather see.) If we get either, I'm ordering the PPV. I think the card looks interesting we getting Batista/JBL which is fresh and should be a hell of a brawl, Taker/Hassan which is umm... interesting, the match will likely be crap but the angle has been different and has got everyone talking, Jordan/Benoit could be a real surprise as I think Benoit will take Jordan to good match though I feel that should Jordan get a semi-clean win as it would cement him as an upper midcarder, Christain/Booker T means I get see Christain and think he's going over for sure, Road Warrior Animal, Melina is hot and should also include a good cruiserweight bout. Sounds fresh, and fresh is good.

Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted July 13, 2005 I'm pretty sure that Eddie mentioned that the secret will be on the line when Eddie faces Rey at the GAB. and I think I saw the picture when they went thru the rundown of the PPV. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, the secret is on the line at the Bash Spoilers from the Observer http://www.liveaudiowrestling.com/wo/news/...t.asp?aID=13699 WWE Smackdown spoilers from Worcester by Jerry Lane Hey Dave!...here's what happened last nite at the Smackdown/Velocity tapings in Worcester, Mass...at the DCU Center... ...Axl Rotten/Balls Mahoney apparently beat the Shane Twins ...Frankie "The Future" Kazarian beat Nunzio w/a suplex into a bridge...to quote Frankie himself after the match... "the Future looks good!" ...Simon Dean beat Mike Kruel ...Hassan and Daivari came out, inciting the crowd...with another rant about the injustice he endures as an Arab-American...being unfairly labeled as a terrorist by people who don't know him, like Don Kaplan of the NY Post, whose article Hassan read excerpts from...and threw it on the ground....Hassan concluded by saying he was proud of his heritage and left...the SD logos next to the TitanTron were up...so don't know if this will air on Smackdown, or if this was just for the benefit of the live crowd, given the direction WWE was going to take by not having Hassan on the program at all per the request of UPN... ...Chris Benoit beat William Regal by submission w/the crossface, in an excellent , stiff match...Regal bled hardway from the forehand thanks to Benoit's fists...Benoit got a huge pop coming out!... ...for Smackdown, ...Eddie Guerrero cut another fabulous promo, threatening to tell Rey Mysterio's secret to the entire world, since Rey wouldn't be here tonite...so, Eddie begins to tell the tale of a boy named Domenic, who went into the woods to play w/his Uncle Eddie...when Mrs Eddie Guerrero came out w/her 2 daughters, begging Eddie to calm down and not go thru w/it...because it would hurt too many people...and that Rey was a good man...which sent Eddie over the edge, as he forcibly grabbed his wife by the arm...and dragged her to the back;after a break, they came right back to the angle backstage where Eddie was seen continuing to berate his wife in front of staff members and innocent bystander Hardcore Holly, who tried to get Eddie to calm down, only to be pushed by Eddie, who was in turn pushed back hard into the wife's car...Eddie told her she shouldn't have come to his place of work...and in an unintentionally funny remark, told her to "get out of here, before I get hurt!"... ...finally our first bit of wrestling on the show...as the Mexicools beat Funaki/Scotty 2 Hotty/Paul London, when Juvi pinned London after a 450 splash off the top rope..by the way...i was just wondering...if Michelle McCool ever teamed up w/Juvi/Psychosis and Crazy in an 8 person tag...would they then be known as the MexiMcCools?... ...more mindless and pointless backstage banter...as Christian was hitting on Candace Michelle while insulting her, telling her what a great star he was on Raw, and wanted the SD guys to come to him for advice....when Booker T and Sharmell interrupted...Booker telling Christian that if he wanted respect on SD, he'd have to earn it...setting up a match between the two for later in the show... ...and more happy talk, as Josh Matthews interviewed Batista, who said JBL was nothing more than a loudmouth and a bully...and that he deals w/bullies by punking them out, then beating them up.Batista said he punked out JBL last week, and that at the GAB, he was gonna beat him up... ...and to conclude the all-talk quarter hour, Melina confronted Tori Wilson , telling her the only reason she's been a top diva is because she's had no competition...so Tori said it was all about exposure...and challnged Melina to a Bra and Panties match at the GAB.. ...Heidenreich came out next, supposedly for a match...but was attacked from behind by M & M...when lo and behold...the save was made by none other than Road Warrior Animal...who got a pretty decent pop....this lead eventually to a Heidenreich/Animal vs M & M for the WWE Tag Titles at the GAB... ...Eddie Guerrero beat Hardcore Holly by submission w/a half crab...afterwards Eddie "apologized" 2 his wife...by telling her that if Rey wins their match at the GAB , he will keep the secret but if he wins....he will finish his bedtime story to Domenic!... ... Hassan's personal attorney, Thomas Whitney, Esq... came out, reading a statement from Hassan, saying that he has taken a leave of absense for Smackdown until he beats Undertaker at the GAB, at which point, Taker interrupted by chokeslamming and tombstoning Mr.Whitney, who was carted off in a neckbrace and on a stretcher... ...in a shocker, Christian beat Booker T!...Christian attacked T from behind on the ramp b4 the match began....and continued the assault outside the ring...when they finally made inside the ring and the bell rang to officially start the match, Christian, shortly thereafter nailed Booker w/the unprettier for the upset win!... ...Batista beat Orlando Jordan w/the Batista Bomb in a Champion vs Champion Match, despite copious amounts of interference from JBL, who attacked Batista from behind after the match, laid him out w/the clothesline from hell...and stood over him one foot on his chest holding the world Title belt as the show went off the air... ...when the cameras stopped rolling...HHH's music played...to a strong reaction...and it was a doubleteam on Batista for about 15 seconds...until hometown hero John Cena's music played and he joined the fray to even the sides... ...Batista/Cena beat JBL/HHH w/the same doublepin finish as Monday night...Batista Bomb on HHH...Cena FU on JBL.... ...thank you and good night!... Guest Ransome Report post Posted July 13, 2005 Seriously, do Heidenreich & Animal have a chance at winning the titles? I can see MNM losing at the PPV and then having them win the belts back at the next SD. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can see it. Try to boost sales of the Road Warriors DVD. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is it really the wise move to derail the momentum of MNM (as far as I'm concerned, the first decent 'new' tag team they've brought forth since Benjamin/Haas) just to sell a few more copies of DVDs? Particularly since the Road Warriors DVD caters primarily to older fans who have most likely bought (or will soon buy) the DVD already? Either way, they've booked themselves into a situation where Heidenreich/Animal have to win the tag titles, unfortunately. I really thought WWE was finally, thankfully, conceding defeat with the Simon Dean character after last week. Can they possibly foresee any prospect of future success with the gimmick? Aero 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 GAB isn't looking very appealing at all. The only match I want to see is Benoit-Jordan, because I actually think it'll be decent for some reason, or because I want to see Jordan finally lose the US Title. Since Eddie-Rey will most likely happen, I guess I'd want to see that, but really only if it's the blowoff.

(or vice versa) ... the wrestling would be piss poor but it'd be better than seeing those two as tag champs, especially at the expense of MNM.

Silence 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 Benoit vs. Regal on Velocity sounds good (it really should have been on Smackdown, though), but Christian and Booker T feuding with each other again makes me feel like puking over how boring their matches were just two years ago on Raw. I hope MNM don't lose the titles to the odd pairing of Animal and Heidenreich at the GAB, or their momentum will be killed.
WrestlingFan4Ever 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 I really don't see all the MNM love so far. I mean, they have a great gimmick and a great look, but so far, they have not impressed me in ring AT ALL. All their good matches so far, such as against Hass and Holly at Judgment Day '04 have been carry jobs.
Boon 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 They're pretty much all the Tag Division has left. If you give the titles to Heidenreich/Animal, you can pretty much just eulogize the division and call it quits. I guess the love is there because there's nowhere else to put it. Guest nokia Report post Posted July 13, 2005 from pwinsider "Due to the negative press that the Muhammad Hassan angle got in Variety (which was picked up by the Drudge Report and other outlets) and the New York Post yesterday, UPN informed WWE yesterday that Hassan they did not want Hassan to appear on Smackdown. WWE had to change their planned angle with Hassan due to the network's demand. I was told Vince McMahon was not at all happy about this" * Also Kazarian wins with the "Perfect Plex" ? Guest J0bber Report post Posted July 13, 2005 Maybe Simon Dean will feud with Nova next. Does anyone else find it odd that Nova hangs out with Meanie (who is fat), yet Simon Dean hates fat people? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A little side note. I recall The Blue Meanie losing a lot of weight shortly after his 1999 WWF run. Obviously, now he's gained it back. Would anyone else find it funny if they booked Nova to turn on Meanie for being out of shape, thus creating a Simon Dean/Meanie feud?
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 (edited) That would be... awfull. UNLESS they keep Simon Dean and Nova as semi-seperate characters and did have Nova constantly say he's not Simon Dean even though everyone knows he obviously is, except the bWo who are blind to it. Played for laughs that coud be quite fun. EDIT: Actually that doesn't seem such a great idea now I've thought about it... it's been a long day. Oh, and for those that keep asking, Regal/Benoit was on Velocity rather than the Crusier match I'd imagine it's because, as good as the match apparantly was, it's not part of a angle, whereas the cruiser 6-man is, and thus needs to be on the main show Edited July 13, 2005 by The Decemberists
Aero 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 I hope MNM don't lose the titles to the odd pairing of Animal and Heidenreich at the GAB, or their momentum will be killed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Any at all momentum I think was killed last week on Smackdown when the reluctant team of Eddie & Rey had them beat in minutes. Sure, Eddie's a former champion and Rey is Rey, but MNM were completely jobbed out until Eddie turned on Rey.

evilhomer 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 HHH works in his "spaced out for five minutes after coming off the top and meeting boot" comedy spot. JBL throws water in his face to revive him, HHH gives the thumbs up sign and proceeds to do the Flair Flop. That sounds funny as hell but I just can't imagine HHH doing it. I guess it's okay since it won't actually air. And Regal/Benoit.... Fuck, now I've got to figure out what time they've changed Velocity to this week.

Guest KingofHarts Report post Posted July 14, 2005 *William Regal and Chris Benoit come out and proceed to rock the fucking house with the match of the night...tons of matwork, hardway juice from a headbutt, and even a Dragon Suplex. Benoit won with the Crossface My rendition of what's wrong with the WWE. Writer: "I have a great Idea. Let's have Hassans Lawyers come out and say Hassan won't show up then Undertaker can come out and Tombstone him. Booker: "Well were kind of pressed for time. And Takers entrance is about 5 minutes long." Writer: "That's O.K just cut Regal/Benoit, they don't talk on the Mic, therefore they can't be good." And Scene.
