Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2005 Well, guys, I'll be heading to the Cell in lovely south-side Chicago tonight to see the Red Sox. Hopefully I won't get shot or kidnapped.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2005 Well, guys, I'll be heading to the Cell in lovely south-side Chicago tonight to see the Red Sox. Hopefully I won't get shot or kidnapped. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Go White Sox!
devo 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 And with Ishii starting, no less. =) Game ends at 12-0. Mets get the sweep, and it's their fourth win in a row. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who da thunk that Ishii and Graves would be part of a 12-0 shutout? If the Nats lose, Mets are 4.5 back and Atlanta and the Nats will be tied for first. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Annnnnd that's exactly what happens. Nationals lose again despite a 2-Run Homer from Wilson in the bottom of the ninth. The Braves are overtaking them much more quickly than expected.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 The Brewers split a 4 game series with St. Louis. Amazing.
Boon 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 An error by Crede, and Manny makes the White Sox pay, big time. Great game in Chicago, so far.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Red Sox have faced six straight Left-handed starters. That's gotta be close to a record.
Boon 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Yeah. I'm sure they'll be pleased to see Jon Garland... oh wait.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 The last time Boston faced 6 lefties in a row was in the 1930's I believe. It's not a record
KingPK 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Well done Yankee bullpen. And they say the RED SOX pen needs work? Gordon's ok, but they have NO ONE reliable to be the bridge between the starter and Gordon at all. The offense can bail you out only so many times.
Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Fucking awesome night in Chicago. There were seriously maybe ten thousand Red Sox fans there, at one point we started a HUGE "let's go Red Sox" chant. When we were down 4-1, these guys in front kept turning back and laughing at me, and I just didn't say anything, but I definitely had the last laugh tonight. POTG= Joe Crede. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 The Phillies turfed Tim Worrell, trading him to Arizona for minor league infielder Matt Kata. Kata looks bound for AAA Scranton, so I'll get a chance to see him personally.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 When we were down 4-1 WE?!?! You're a Cubs fan, you dumb prick. Damaramu says hi.
Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Um, I meant we, as in, my dad and I. We, uh, got the guess-the-hat-the-ball-is-in thing wrong 4-1. Damn, those hats move fast.
Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Also, after the Sox won the AL and again for the World Series, you edited your whole AIM profile just to be a tribute to the Boston Red Sox, and you even said at one point that you were planning on going to a game this weekend as well. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 I was rooting for the Red Sox, because I like the team, but I never said we, because I can't call myself part of Red Sox Nation and mean it.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Well the score was 4-1 at one point. One could assume you were talking about the game, not some silly hat shuffling game. Trying to cover your tracks?
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Well done Yankee bullpen. And they say the RED SOX pen needs work? Gordon's ok, but they have NO ONE reliable to be the bridge between the starter and Gordon at all. The offense can bail you out only so many times. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, Tanyon pitched the day before, and he's the guy that bridges the gap. Just bad luck that Guerrero was up at that spot against Gordon. But yeah, our bullpen is better. I mean outside of Timlin, there's no one else. Didn't Schilling blow a save? Guest StylesMark Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Proctor is not the answer to filling that gap. The starters really need to try and work through 7 innings. That would help alot. Now, since they blew it last night, we have to pray for Al Leiter to help win the game.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 If only the Yankees had a pitcher in the minors with a career K/9 ratio of 11.5.
MikeJordan23 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 Great performance by Zambrano today, but the Cubs still lost, so I'm happy. Mabry
devo 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 Mets come damn close to overturning a six run deficit, but fall just short and lose 6-5. Losing to the Dodgers after sweeping the Padres...hmm. On the plus side, the Nationals lost in embarassing fashion and it looks like the Braves are gonna lose as well, meaning that the Mets'll still be 4 1/2 back of both the division lead and the Wild Card at the end of the night. KingPK 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 Who the hell was that the White Sox brought out in the 9th? Looked like one of those chubby pitchers you'd see in the Little League World Series. Seriously, guy looked like he was a really big 12 year old.

Mik 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 Orioles trade Sidney Ponson to the Padres for Phil Nevin. The Padres then traded two minor leaguers to the Reds for Joe Randa. The Burnett/Orioles trade is DEAD.
