For our black folks and wiggers

Recommended Posts

People wear long shit because they think it looks cool. People wear ripped jeans because they think it looks cool. People were all black because they think it looks cool.

How is this pattern so hard for so many to see?

And one day I would like white people, when they do the "black people" talk to be within the same decade of the slang.  Seriously, people stopped saying most of that shit before some of you guys were born.

This is true.

White kids who want to seem cool by adopting what they THINK are the mannerisms and slang of black youth are generally just copying off of other white kids, or wealthy hip hop artists who talk and dress in a way to sell records rather than accurately reflect the mainstream of a minority group.

In other words, most so-called "wiggers" have no clue what black people are really like.

So basically this is a thread for people to question why doesn't everyone do exactly like I do.  because they aren't you.  Why do you wear what you wear, why do you say what you say.  PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT.  I know, it is a strange concept that might be too much to believe, but people don't dress like you because they have the right to dress however the fuck they want to.  I think it looks stupid, but hey.  I think a man wearing pink looks stupid.  Thats my opinon.

And I find "wigger" to be offensive too.  I say just call them "gray".

You're a touchy bastard. It has to do with people wearing an insanely long t-shirt and it looks stupid like you said. I was looking for a reason.

Then why not ask, how come some people wear really long t-shirts? You just feel the need to single out 'black people & wiggers'? When I'm sure there's some dude out there, who's not black..or even white maybe, and even not trying to be black..but he's wearing a long t-shirt. Like you said in your first post..might as well titled the thread racist accusations...or observations, whatever...even though not every black person dresses like that.

Tell me, why do some white guys wear pants that are entirely to small for them? And I mean, Highwaters..just Danny Tanner style. Do they not realize when the pants start to hurt their nuts that they don't fit right?

Same goes for shirts...some of the uberly preppy guys at my school, would wear these sort of Abercrombie shirts, but they were literally a XS, WTF is that? If for whatever reason..you decide to bend backwards..I should not be able to see your belly button.

So it just goes back to what Ripper said, people are different...so really, what the hell kind of questions are these? When there's no legit answer. Other then 'its comfortable' and then of course someone else follows that up with, well thats not the answer..

I dont think there is one definite answer to this question , but I may be able to shed a little light on the matter.

I live and work in Baltimore, where the long shirts are super over with the kids. In the inner city, those that deal in the drug trade like their runners and jugglers to wear the shirts because it makes them more indistinguishable. Comfort is just a byproduct of the loose fitting clothes in the city. The ability to camoflage your size as well as what you may (or may not) have with you are the true reasons.

This is some of the rationale behind the criminals wearing the gear. Then you take into account that everyone wants to look like a badass even if they arent and there's your trend.

guys...it's called "I wanna dress like famous people on TV because they're so cool"...plain and simple...it evolved to "everyone else is doing it, now I will"...

And see, this is when people make no sense. Criminals aren't wearing CRIMINAL gear. They are wearing what the style is. If I wear a suit and tie and go sell drugs and rob banks, and join a gang, suits and ties are not "gangsta wear". I happend to do gangsta shit while wearing a suit and tie. Wearing baggy jeans and a T is not GANGSTA wear. GANGSTAS just happen to be wearing what is in style at the time. What else are they supposed to wear? bellbottoms and spandex? Criminals are people that will wear what ever is in style the same way everyone else does. They just happen to put on their clothes and go committ crimes while everyone else goes to the mall and...well...sip smoothies or something.

But humans breathe out of there mouths, not out of there skin.

If it's about comfort, why not some shorts and a t-shirt that doesn't double as a dress? Wouldn't that be more comfortable in 90 degree weather? If it's all about comfort, why wear a baseball cap when there's no sun out? Why wear work boots when you have no work to do? How can comfort be the same for someone in 90 degree cali weather and someone in 25 degree minnesota weather? That's why I just can't buy the comfort thing.

Honestly I'd just like people to be honest and say they identify with that style or there just a product of there environment. It'll help people understand eachother better. I wear flannel shirts because I feel I'm a flannel shirt kind of guy, I'm not gonna give some bullshit excuse about how the square pattern makes for a more breathable fabric....

Of course the simple answer is "people just wear what's popular". Im guessing that Rant was asking WHY the clothing was popular, and the reasons for that are nebulous.

This look is practical for drug/gang activity. May I be so bold to say that is a fact? I wasnt there when the first runner (most likey in NYC) decided to go outside wearing this clown suit, so I cant say with 100% certainty that it started there.

This attire was brought to the masses by a musical genre in which many are respected for the amount of bulletholes in their bodies and criminal pasts are worn like badges of honor. I dont think its too hard to connect point A to point B.

Of course now its just sheep wearing what they think is cool, but it had to start somewhere.

people were wearing baggy clothes in hip hop before the gangsta rap came around. It was from the fact that people were poor in the innercity and relied on hand me downs from their older brothers and sisters, sometimes having to wear them before they grew into them. Therefore it because the style to wear things big. that was in the early to mid 80's.

That has nothing to do with the case today, because now it is simply a style thing. it was not started by gangsters despite what people want to say it is.

And simply put, baggier clothes are more confortable than form fitting clothes. you don't have to like that reasoning, but a pair of nut hugging jeans are unconfortable. I like being able to, i don't know, get things out of my pocket without having to contort my body. Its just simply more confortable.

If you LIKE clothes clinging to you then fine, but tell everyone else that they are actually comfortable.

Baggy clothes do last longer, as long that you take care of them. That whole drug dealers and baggy clothes arguement is stupid than clubs refusing to let people because they're wearing a white t's. People like wearing baggy clothes is simply a comfort thing.

Actually, baggy clothes in the modern era initially came into style with zoot suits, which was somewhat of a gangster thing.

And remember a few years back when the style was to shave the sides of your head into that bowl cut? That was popular in the 1890s.

Well, yeah, for those steve harvey suits type thing. But Baggy clothes have been a part of all impoverished peoples for the longest. It became a fashion thing in the 80's for black people. I am pretty sure they weren't trying to look like Dick Tracy gangsters.

Technically, the look is impractical for drug/gang activity ... it's probably pretty difficult to run from the 5-0 when your pants are hanging low and your shirt goes to your knees. It might be advantageous for hiding drugs, but unless you're selling kilos at a time, you don't need a whole lot of room to stash your, well, stash. A few hundred dollars of crack could fit into the pockets of the pants I'm wearing right now, and I'm at work in a shirt and tie. The only reason why this look is beneficial for dealing is that it is a very common look and thus the wearer would be more difficult to ID.

Yeah but that's why clothes come in all kinds of different sizes. I don't wear jeans that hug my balls but they sure as hell aren't 12 inches bigger than my actual waste. When I wear a t-shirt you can't see the definition of my nipples but you could at least tell it was a t-shirt and not a dress if I was wearing shorts.

I just don't buy one extreme being the excuse for another. At this point I think it's clearly a uniform thing and it would come across better if people acknowledged it as being cultural as opposed to a matter of comfort, because anyone with skin knows you can't be comfortable on a hot summer day decked out in 100 pounds of clothing.

Why would anyone acknowledge that when it is a fact that the people are feeling more comfortable in loose fitting clothes than other clothes. Who are you to tell people what they are comfortable in?

Of course there is a line. i think tall T's are stupid and they are t-shirt dresses. I think wearing pants at a 42 waist when you wear a 34 is stupid.

But I wear a 32 waist and I am getting my jeans at a 35. They are a 31 length and I am going to buy 33 in jeans because it is more comfortable. I might wear a medium in dress shirts, but I am getting a XL in T's. And its not a uniform, and I could give a shit what happens on television, its just more comfortable.

Pimps will try to look like that. That is a good look.I recognize this doesn't have much to do with the subject at hand. The other people who have traditionally always worn baggy clothes are fat people.

I think it is just hard for them to find clotes that fit. Like if they have a really big belly, they can't find a shirt that fits up top and is still big enough around their belly. Or those guys that have huge bellys and their legs look normal. What kinda pants do THEY wear?

Americans are weird...I guess that's what comes with having a country filled with Immigrants and different groups. You're all different and that sucks....you wonder why most countries hate you but most of you hate each other.

Oh and Ripper...I remember you once said that Black people don't say "fly" and you listend a lot of words black people don't say anymore but I went to NY last summer and heard all those words you said were not in use anymore. Maybe not in you area but they are still being used in other regions...word.

I'm not telling anyone what there comfortable in, I'm just saying it's totally unbelievable that someone would wear ridiculously over-sized pants, t-shirts and heavy work boots in the middle of summer for comfort. It's just not believable to anyone who can feel the weather around them. It makes the whole thing seem like a phony shtick.

"Of course there is a line. i think tall T's are stupid and they are t-shirt dresses. I think wearing pants at a 42 waist when you wear a 34 is stupid."

That's what I'm talking about here, it's standard fare these days and it makes absolutely no sense.

I can't imagine such a drastic change in comfort between a 32 and a 35 or how a dress shirt would be comfortable in medium but a t-shirt is only comfortable in XL. If it's comfortable to you, ok, but you should understand why some people would see it as nothing more than trying to fit in.

But...you are. (telling people what they're comfortable in) I mean, why is it so unbelievable when the person wearing it is actually telling you it in fact IS comfortable. Going...'No its not' is pretty much telling them what they're comfortable in. Which although not verbatim, is pretty much what you're saying.

If it's about comfort, why not some shorts and a t-shirt that doesn't double as a dress? Wouldn't that be more comfortable in 90 degree weather? If it's all about comfort, why wear a baseball cap when there's no sun out? Why wear work boots when you have no work to do? Well, why wear a t-shirt that stops right at your waist? You said you don't wear a shirt that would show your nipples, and it wouldn't double as a dress either. So I'm guessing your t-shirt probaly stops right at your waist? And if kyou were to bend down or something, your shirt probaly rises up or something, much like chicks do, I don't know about you, but that'd be a very uncomfortable feeling. See...it's uncomfortable. And no, a small shirt wouldn't be better in hotter whether.

For one, if you start sweating (and I've seen this) your shirt starts sticking to you, and the like. And sometimes, like with dress shirts, you get big sweat stains under your arms. That doesn't happen witha big shirt, it doesn't get stuck to you. As for the boots (I for one don't think Timberlands are work boots), even if you decide to wear actual 'work boots' whos to say they arent comfortable? I for one like wearing my boots better then wearing my tennis shoes, because for one, I don't play tennis >_>, yes bad joke, but anyways, just because. I can't explain why I think it's more comfortable, becacuse to me, well...shoes are shoes, they all feel pretty much the same, but I just do. And there's a lot more people now who wear like, Nikes for instance then boots.

I for one, in yes, 100 degree whether, wear baggy jeans, a real shirt (I don't even wear t-shirts that much) as well as boots. Some people I know, yea do think that's crazy, but like the whole arguements about..I think it's more comfortable. For one, I HATE shorts. I just don't wear them. I have one pair, that I wear about twice every year. I just don't like them because one, I dont like to show my legs, if I'm not wrestling or playing basketball or something for whatever reason. I also don't like to wear my socks short..and usually when wearing shorts you pretty much have to, otherwise it looks/feels pretty stupid. I also don't like the feeling that if I sit down (depending on how long or short, they are..even though mine are pretty long) my penis may be, well out there. Sounds weird, I know but it's true. You never know who's looking up your shorts. I also don't really see the point in wearing shorts on a really hot day, when then...the sun just beams on your fucking legs, and in turn has them even hotter then if you were to wear shorts.

There's a lot more thinking then just "I want to wear it because it's so cool! :) " Because for some people, yes, more clothes can be more comfortable. Surely you don't believe fucking a dead person would be 'comfortable', or enjoyable would be a better word in that case. But as we know...there are some people who find it to be. Whether you can believe it or not, you know it's true, so I don't see how you can say 'I dont think they really find it enjoyable'. (Yea, the comparison is stupid..but I sort of saw Necromaniak on accident >_>) Anyways, point is..

At this point I think it's clearly a uniform thing and it would come across better if people acknowledged it as being cultural as opposed to a matter of comfort, because anyone with skin knows you can't be comfortable on a hot summer day decked out in 100 pounds of clothing.

Regardless of what you think, it's not just a uniform thing. I don't wear jeans because, 'my culture wears jeans' I wear them because I like too. I don't wear hats because 'black people are supposed to wear hats' (Well, I dont really wear to many hats) but I wear them beecause I like the way they fit me, and I think sometimes I look better with them. Doesn't have anything to do with '50 Cent looks cool in a hat so I think I'll wear one'. And as I explained, yes, I do happen to find it more comfortable then what you consider to be 'comfortable' whether it's hot or not.

And I for one, don't like flannel shirts, I don't like the way they feel, and I don't really like the way they look...surely you can't be comfortable in them? ;)
