Enigma Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Numerous sources have confirmed that both Jamie Knoble and Spanky are heading back to World Wrestling Entertainment. Knoble (who has been working as James Gibson on the independent scene) was at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT yesterday. Neither have been given a start date with the company and it is expected they will be given the opportunity to finish out their independent commitments. CREDIT: PWInsider
AndrewTS Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 "Numerous sources" = which are? I'd like to see them back but at the same time, they're probably going to be wasted. Plus, isn't Velocity getting the ax soon? Too bad, it's been awesome lately.
Spaceman Spiff Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Wonderful. I Knoble. If only they kept Akio around. Knoble, London, Spanky, Akio, Juvy, Super Crazy, Psicosis would've made for a damn good cruiser division and/or invigorated tag division.
Guest BrokenWings Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Spanky's coming back already? What was the point in leaving?
Spaceman Spiff Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 What do you mean "already"? He's been gone for about 2 years.
bob_barron Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 While I'm sad to see them leave ROH, I'm happy for Noble to get his job back. I hope Spanky knows what he's doing this time. Noble/Spanky/London v. Mexicools- book it!
Guest jumpingbombangel Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ^^^ I agree with this Balki.
DrVenkman PhD Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Noble I saw coming since it was suggested back when he was fired, but Spanky returning seems odd.
Guest nokia Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 I second a spanky/knoble/London vs mexi cools match for smackdowns next ppv !!
razazteca Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Spanky's coming back already? What was the point in leaving? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because he likes working as Leonardo Spanky in Japan?
Zack Malibu Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 I have a sinking feeling this is more of a "get them before TNA does" hiring rather than a "let's actually utilize the good workers" hiring.
bob_barron Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Well if anyone can survive WWE, it's a country boy. I'll miss yelling: THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN during Gibson's matches. That and MOUNTAINEER PRIDE JAMIE!
RedJed Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Wow I'm surprised they actually delivered on their word with Noble with telling him they would re-sign him in due time if he just never went to TNA. With Spanky I'm all kinds of surprised he's returning as didnt he ask for his release in the first place? Even if not, I recall him dogging on the company somewhat after he left them. While I'm glad he MIGHT be returning (I take this report with a grain of salt for now) its just weird they would consider him after all the BS from before. They must be at least going to attempt to reinvigorate the cruiserweight division. We'll see what happens!
Downhome Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 I seem to remember reports that Spanky asked to be released as well.
I like Forums Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 I was really digging both these guys in ROH. I'm actually going to miss them pulling out great match in ROH..... now they are moving on to Mediocresville.
DrVenkman PhD Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 I once knew a guy from Mediocresville. Let's just say the stories about him are GREATLY exagerated.
bob_barron Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 The preacher man says it’s the end of time And the Mississippi River she’s a goin’ dry The interest is up and the Stock Markets down And you only get mugged If you go down town I live back in the woods, you see A woman and the kids, and the dogs and me I got a shotgun rifle and a 4-wheel drive And a country boy can survive Country folks can survive I can plow a field all day long I can catch catfish from dusk till dawn We make our own whiskey and our own smoke too Ain’t too many things these ole boys can’t do We grow good ole tomatoes and homemade wine And a country boy can survive Country folks can survive Because you can’t starve us out And you cant makes us run Cause one-of- ‘em old boys raisin ole shotgun And we say grace and we say Ma’am And if you ain’t into that we don’t give a damn We came from the West Virginia coalmines And the Rocky Mountains and the and the western skies And we can skin a buck; we can run a crop line And a country boy can survive Country folks can survive I had a good friend in New York City He never called me by my name, just hillbilly My grandpa taught me how to live off the land And his taught him to be a businessman He used to send me pictures of the Broadway nights And I’d send him some homemade wine But he was killed by a man with a switchblade knife For 43 dollars my friend lost his life Id love to spit some beechnut in that dudes eyes And shoot him with my old 45 Cause a country boy can survive Country folks can survive Cause you can’t starve us out and you can’t make us run Cause one-of- ‘em old boys raisin ole shotgun And we say grace and we say Ma’am And if you ain’t into that we don’t give a damn We’re from North California and south Alabam And little towns all around this land And we can skin a buck; we can run a crop line And a country boy can survive Country folks can survive
Fökai Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 According to PWI, Noble signed yesterday or today.
bob_barron Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Good for Gibson. At least I'll get to see him work against Homicide one more time before he goes.
Youth N Asia Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 I'm glad to see both guys return. I was able to chat with Gibson for just a moment at ROH and he seemed really cool. I was pissed pissed pissed when he got axed in the first place.
The Czech Republic Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 What the hell is Bob Barron rambling on about.
bob_barron Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Country Boy Can Survive is Gibson's theme in ROH
Guest Ransome Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 They must be at least going to attempt to reinvigorate the cruiserweight division. We'll see what happens! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hope so, especially now that they've got likely the best active Cruiserweight roster they've had in years. Given that WWE recently released a lot of deadweight, as far as I can see rehiring Spanky and Noble can only mean they're seriously about using them on SD (after all, soon enough Velocity won't exist).
Dandy Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 A couple of things I am excited for because of this news: -James Gibson grew up about 15 minutes from me in Hanover, WV. I of course cheer him on and am glad he is back in WWE. -Spanky and Noble can have some serious matches with London if they will let them. -The tag team situation on Smackdown could get a whole lot better with Spanky/London, Nunzio/Vito, Mexicools, bWo, MNM, LOD2005, and possibly Doring/Roadkill, Ballz/Axl. Alas, we must wait and see if WWE will even allow any of this to materialize.
The Mandarin Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Knoble vs. Benoit. BOOK IT GABE Stephanie McMahon
bob_barron Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Why am I a fucking idiot Micah? Enlighten me please
Jobber of the Week Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 An angle that eventually leads up to Rey/London/Spanky VS Eddie/Juvi/SuperCrazy on PPV could rock the building down. As for Noble, I don't know what they'll do with him, although I wouldn't be suprised if he goes to Raw and gets involved with Chavo's dreams of becoming white trash.
