I don't know many artists to be honest. I know all the really popular guys and I know a lot of artists from like the 80's but when I look at the thread "what album did you listen to today" I think WTF, who are all these people? So recommend me some good music. Music you almost listen to every day because it's so addictive. Now I don't like Hardcore or any variation of it, I don't like Britney Spears music, that's gay. I like songs with guitar solos and shit like that, I also like rap, basically I'm open for most things.

Recommend please :)

Shadows Fall - Of One Blood

Get the album. Half the people here have it because I already pimped it to them. It'll either be one of your favorites or you won't give two fucks for it and sell it to a used record store, but it's worth a listen for the guitar work.

I don't know if anyone will agree with me, but CKY is pretty good.

Their new CD was worth the 5.99$ that I paid for it.

Good songs:

- Suddenly Tragic

- Plastic Plan

- Human Drive in Hi-Fi

- Shock and Terror

- Don't Hold Your Breath

Listen to the Dropkick Murphys. A punk band with Gaelic influences, like a bagpiper, etc. Some songs to give a listen to in order to get a feel for the band:

- The Gauntlet

- Rocky Road To Dublin

- It's A Long Way To The Top (cover of the AC/DC song)

- Walk Away

- Skinhead on the MBTA

- Finnegan's Wake

- Tessie

Those should give you a feel for what the band is like. Awesome group with a big following, especially in Boston, their hometown.

I'll take this oppurtunity to pimp Broken Social Scene. They're a "collective" out of Toronto with each member being inolved in one (or two or three) different side-projects. I hesitate to use the term "band" to describe them as they're in constant rotation, concert-wise and recording-wise.

Their 2002 album You Forgot It In People was basically made because everybody in the group felt the need to branch away from everything that they were doing at the time and just make an album full of fun pop songs. The result is probably like nothing you've ever heard before, sound-wise. This is one of those CD's that you can listen to day and night for a month and think you've memorized it until two weeks later when you hear something different.

DL's

- Almost Crimes

- KC Accidental

- Looks just like the sun

- Stars and Sons.

If any of these appeal to you then you owe it to yourself to check the album out.

Shadows Fall recs (songs from Of One Blood, because most songs from the following two albums won't be up your alley):

-"Crushing Belial"

-"Of One Blood"

-"The First Noble Truth" (might be too screamy for you, but there's great guitar work in it)

-"To Ashes"

Maker of the thread should listen to some Robin Trower.

"Water And Solutions" by Far is utterly fantastic. I'd almost describe it as "emo", except that Jonah's voice is powerful instead of whiny, his voice unbelievably raw in places, and he doesn't spend his time whining about girls who don't care.

DL's:

"Waiting For Sunday"

"Mother Mary"

"Bury White"

Local H Recommendations:

"Hands on the Bible"

"(Baby Wants To) Tame Me"

"President Forever"

"All the Kids are Right"

"Buffalo Trace"

"What Would You Have Me Do?"

And on Strangler's Gaelic influence influence, here's some Pogues recommendations:

"Fairytale of New York"

"Sunnyside of the Street"

"The Sick Bed of Cuchuliann"

"Young Ned of the Hill"

"If I Should Fall from Grace with God"

"Sally MacLennane"

"The Band Played Waltzing Matilda"

"A Pair of Brown Eyes"

"Streams of Whiskey"

I wholeheartedly agree with this. CKY are an excellent band, and their latest CD is my favorite release of this year by far.

Wow...no "Bound for the Floor," which might be the one song he could have possibly already heard by them.
