Lets beat the dead horse just a little more, eh?

I wonder if this is the first time Bret has even been in Titan Towers since 97? I would assume so....let's hope for a few stories during the day ala Lesnar when he came in.

Anyone who thinks that he's ever going to wrestle a match is a fool.

AND, in the off chance that he does somehow wrestle a stoke-victim match, then it's just going to be a sad, sad affair.

He's going to be another member of Eugene's new nostalgia faction, along with Tatanka. Since Bret can't wrestle, he'll be the manager.

They'd have to change it to a stretcher match five minutes in.

It's probably for the Hall of Fame or for the DVD. I doubt he's really returning.

I have to admit, very few things in life would make me mark in wrestling and bret hart walking out would be one of them. Only I wouldn't have to know it ahead of time.

Bret Harts return to the WWE (all theory, here... he's had meetings with the WWE on numerous occasions mainly dealing with books and dvds, not storylines) is like the holy grail of booking. And I'm talking "Indiana Jones and the Last Cruisade" holy grail - as in if you make the wrong step, you end up with a spear in ya or something, or if you drink from the wrong cup you melt (ok, its been a while since I've seen it). It's such a sensitive issue where you can't just bring him out as a surprise - because you can make more money announcing it before hand. However if you DO announce it before hand, it will take away from the moment.

Bret is Hall of Fame bound. WWE finally did a smart thing by starting the negotiations now. Good job!

From Meltzer....

Bret Hart will be at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT, for a meeting today regarding participation in a DVD project. We'll have complete details of this story as well as the background in this coming Monday's issue of the Wrestling Observer.

----So I guess its just for the DVD but you know discussions will have to end up as well about other things, such as a return here and there.

Bret being ref for HBK/Hogan would be fantastic, but perhaps better fit for a rematch, if there ever is one. In a perfect world, that would be at Survivor Series. Having him the ref at SummerSlam is a bad idea so soon as they could really hype the fuck out of a Bret Hart return like crazy and hot shotting it in just two weeks is straight up bad business. They already got a potential draw in HBK v. Hogan, they dont need him to make it any bigger/better.

Why would you (a)have brets return on being a ref, during (b)the showdown between Hogan/HBK. That's such a waste. Hogan/HBK will draw some interest. Brets appearance will draw some interest. So why not maximize the potential draw and keep them separate? You could have HBK vs. Conway and still manage to draw a huge number with Bret being involved.

I have ZERO belief that they could do this properly.

NONE.

They fucked up sure fire angles before...

They will fuck this up. Don't bother doing a storyline. Just let him tape commentaries and interview spots for the dvd and maybe agree to the HOF deal and nothing more.

I'm 100% in agreement KNK.

Bret should try to get some quality control over his DVD release and it wouldn't kill him to be inducted into their Hall of Shame..err..I mean Fame. However, even though the landscape of WWE right now is paved with pure shit from top to bottom, I have no desire to see Bret come back into any of the storylines this creative team has come up with or could come up with.

Just do your goodbye and call it a day, Bret. For your sakes. Fuck everyone else's.
