Rendclaw Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 I think Clive Owen could pull it off, and Ewan McGregor is a bit too old at this point. Statham would make a better enemy of Bond than the role itself. Jude Law will be the popular decision.
ChrisMWaters Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 Owen's the kinda guy who'd be standing there.. calm, cool and collected, drinking a martini (shaken, not stirred).. and the next thing you know you're on the floor with a light bulb in your mouth and he's punching you in the face. Awww, yeah! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...so, Clive Owen's Bond villain would be Uncle Fester? O_o
Adam Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 I agree with Clive Owen and Julain McMahon. Has Colin Farrell already turned it down or something, because he'd bring the female audience.
Vern Gagne Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 I think Clive Owen could pull it off, and Ewan McGregor is a bit too old at this point. Statham would make a better enemy of Bond than the role itself. Jude Law will be the popular decision. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> McGregor's not too old if they base Bond's age on the originial books.
Black Lushus Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 again, it's not so much McGregor's age that concerns me, he just seems to cheery and smiley and happy all the time to be Bond...
dubq Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 I agree with Clive Owen and Julain McMahon. Has Colin Farrell already turned it down or something, because he'd bring the female audience. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have to say NO to Colin Farrell. Keep that fucker away.
A Happy Medium Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 On the topic of McGregor being too "bright" to be Bond, it's not as though James Bond is some dark, brooding figure. He's just calm and collected, something McGregor can play. James Bond can smile.
jwpeer Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 On the topic of McGregor being too "bright" to be Bond, it's not as though James Bond is some dark, brooding figure. He's just calm and collected, something McGregor can play. James Bond can smile. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have to say Jude Law would be my pick. He's a good actor, has ALL the f'in charisma in the world. As for 'kicking ass', well Jude Law looks more like a spy than a soldier...isn't James Bond a -spy-? *shrug*
Black Lushus Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 I just can't see Jude Law kicking ass...I barely bought his character in Road To Perdition...
Sass Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 He's definitely enough of a womanizer in real life to play Bond. He's gone through wife's like Edge.
Jobber of the Week Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Casino Royale is one of the earliest Bond books, which would imply that the actor would have to look rather young. But the producer has already said Judi Dench returns as M, and she's not getting any younger, so who really knows, really. There's been a strong suggestion that they're going to slam the reset button on the continuity they've built thus far, so it's possible they could go with a younger Bond and an older MI6 crew.
Gary Floyd Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 That being said, I nominate Vince McMahon as Bond. It would own and you know it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Vince, after blowing up the hideout of the villian at the end- "You're FIRED!!" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eric Bischoff would be the ultimate Bond Villain
Jobber of the Week Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 Bischoff? Please, it should be Ric Flair. "Now that I got cha sittin here, I'll tell ya what I'm gonna do. AT TWELVE AM.... FRIDAY NIGHT.... I'M GONNA STROLL RIGHT ON OVER TO THAT LIL BUTTON THERE.... AND WITH JUST A TAP... There's gonna be some serious *unintelligbile*" (Flair starts speaking gibberish while flailing his arms around and makes a gesture that looks like the globe exploding) "YEAHH! WHOOOO! So, how's that sittin with ya?" Also, Kevin Nash would get 2.3 seconds of cameratime as Jaws before hurting himself.
Danville_Wrestling Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 What about Gerard Butler? He was in Phantom of the Opera as the Phantom, but I've seen him cast in other films and he's a good character. He's got the Scottish accent bit going, but he has the "Bond" look. Jude Law would never work b/c he wouldn't want to be typecast as a "Bond" guy. I'm sure he'd want some more diverse roles than Bond movies. Just my two cents, though.
bob_barron Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 He's definitely enough of a womanizer in real life to play Bond. He's gone through wife's like Edge. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's only been married once.
Jericho2000Mark Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 I think Clive Owen could pull it off, and Ewan McGregor is a bit too old at this point. Clive Owen is 7 years OLDER than Ewan McGregor... Agreed with Christian Bale, but in 10 years when he's done dressing up as Batman... He's much too young right now.
pochorenella Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Here's your NEW James Bond, boys and girls: http://www.thisislondon.com/showbiz/articl...ily%20Mail&ct=5 So Bond is... Blond??
Black Lushus Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 he reminds me of Basil Expedition (or was it Exposition?) from the Austin Powers movies...
Mole Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I HATE the 007 franchise and this doesn't make me want to watch it anymore than I did before. GREAT choice...
2GOLD Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 So Bond is becoming a total puss? Should have just hired Don Cheadle, at least he can act and be a bad ass. And keep Julian McMahon miles away, his performance as Doctor Doom was an disgrace to villians everywhere.
Lil' Bitch Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I don't like this choice, they should have gone with Jude. And keep Julian McMahon miles away, his performance as Doctor Doom was an disgrace to villians everywhere. I disagree. I thought he did the role just fine.
Black Lushus Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 So Bond is becoming a total puss? Should have just hired Don Cheadle, at least he can act and be a bad ass. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've always pondered the possibilities of a black James Bond, but most people considered it rubbish...
dubq Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I can't take Don Cheadle serious after Boogie Nights..
Darthtiki Posted October 12, 2005 Author Report Posted October 12, 2005 James Bond with a queer eye makeover is what this choice is.
