Brush with Greatness 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 Slurpee Indians, not Casino Indians! Okay, I know I'm not the only one whose seen this, so let's get some love going on for this flick here.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 I saw a clip of it with whats her name Ms. Silver-berg-stein-stone-something talking about a circle jerk of some sort on the Adam Corolla show. Comedy Central has been pimping The Aristocrats alot lately.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 I saw it twice, and it was hilarious. Gilbert Gottfried and the puppet OWNED the movie. So many great quoteable lines. A few complaints (show us the whole Friars Club roast!) but this was just a fun exercise in bad taste. I was the only one laughing at some parts.
teke184 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 I need to check to see if any local theaters are running it... I've seen the South Park version of The Aristocrats about 6 months ago and I heard that wasn't even one of the top 10 versions of the joke in the movie. I've seen the South Park version of The Aristocrats about 6 months ago and I heard that wasn't even one of the top 10 versions of the joke in the movie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The South Park one is one of my favourites. Carlin has a funny one, and Sara Silverman's spin on it is funny. Andy Richter, Billy the mime, and the Onion all have really funny takes on it.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 It's not playing around here....so I'll be picking up the DVD when it comes out.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 It starts playing at the indy theater next week...and it is on my list of must-sees.
Guest Evolution Report post Posted August 25, 2005 My local indy theater is running a poll to decide which movie should be added next: Grizzly Man, 2046, Murderball, or The Aristocrats. So far, the Arisocrats has 48% of the vote. Hopefully they get it, since there's no one else close (next closest is three hours away, this theater is ten minutes away), and I've struck out on the internet. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 I saw this and liked it a lot, just not as great as some of the critics have proclaimed it to be. Bob Saget, George Carlin, Sarah Silverman, and Gilbert Gottfried are the showstoppers here.

I think that is the closest you'll get.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 Saget would've been funnier if he didn't laugh at his own joke every 10 seconds.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 Saget was somewhat distracting while telling the joke, but it was still one of the top 5 for me.
LatinAssasin 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 Can someone explain what this is? I have no idea what anyone's talking about..
Ripper 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 "The Aristocrats" is not quite a joke, more a format, like when jazzers would feel free to free-form between the beginning and end of "Stardust". You start by describing a family in a meeting with a showbiz agent, asking if they can perform their act. You then describe whatever mixture of incest, analingus, facials, muscular tubes and the family dog as enters the bad parts of your head. Once you've surprised yourself with some of the images (a contemporary variant might be to toss in some Abu Ghraib references), you have the family tell the impresario that their act is called "The Aristocrats" -- and you're home. You can tell it to psych out a rookie stand-up just before he starts an important gig, you can tell it just for shits and giggles, or you can try it in front of an audience, to gain the respect of your fellow funnymen. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 But don't say Aristocats instead of Aristocrats. Cause then you blow the joke. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Both Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Corolla said that it would be funny when this comes out on Video , in the video stores someone might go to rent the Aristocats and pick this up by mistake. That would be pretty funny actually.

That, and the episode of South Park where the kids accidentally end up with a copy of the most hardcore porno ever and are wondering why everyone is so freaked out by their copy of Fellowship Of The Ring... Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2005 It hasn't even shown up in this city until tomorrow, which is pretty sad since Penn & Teller live here.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2005 Paul Provenza, I believe, said that a family ended up in a screening of it in Florida (mother, father, two little kids) and thought it was the AristoCats, and didn't live the theater until about 15 minutes in (I believe Carlin's version hits at the 6 minute mark). MDH257 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2005 It kind of all runs together. Most versions of the joke are kinda the same and the joke isn't even that funny (as many people in the movie admit). I actually liked the parts where people told jokes other than "The Aristocrats". Such as Martin Mull, the scene where they cut between Robin Williams and Drew Carey telling the same joke, and the women talking about what a perv Bob Saget is in real life. As far as who was funniest at telling "The Aristocrats". I liked Wendy Liebman, Whoppi Goldberg, The Card Trick Guy, and the South Park cartoon.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 26, 2005 The delivery is what it's all about, not the joke itself
Brush with Greatness 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2005 No doubt most of the versions are similar. But it's the many great variations that make the movie good. Naturally, Carlin's is awesome, the animated South Park is great, the mime, the card trick, the dummy's not bad, Sarah Silverman's take, I thought the stuff with the two comics with their kids, Saget's, etc. A lot of good stuff in there. And yeah, the "Your zippers undone and your dick's hanging out" joke is good stuff too. Oh, and the Popeye forearms.
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2005 I took the trek across town to the one theatre in the state showing it tonight to see it. I enjoyed it. Part of the enjoyment I got from seeing it in the theatre was watching all the people file out minutes into the movie. I saw some old couple going in and most of them quickly going out. All old people go to see whatever movie gets 4 or 5 stars in the paper... and half the time they either walk out or are confused. I've seen it with this and Napoleon Dynamite for sure myself now, and have a very funny story from a friend about "the old folk" going to Memento. Anyways, I was entertained. I think the DVD is one that may have some pretty interesting stuff. I was just surprised at some of the people that were interviewed, but only shown for a few words. Like Chris Rock. I mean, this is Mr. "Toss My Salad", I am sure he could've come up with a decent version. Also, for those who stayed for the end credits, who plans on submitting your own version for the DVD? Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2005 That's because there's absolutely no cam-corded/pirated release of it. Not that the movie-stealing scene couldn't do it, but nobody has bothered to try. Not a big flick, not released in many screens, etc.
