Guest Fook Report post Posted September 9, 2005 I guess it could work as a one time thing to make it seem more important. They just better not start thinking every show should be three hours should this get a big rating. We all saw how stale and drawn out Nitro became when they made it three hours. Guest Ransome Report post Posted September 10, 2005 Has there ever been a three-hour Raw in the past? I don't see how they're going to fill the time, although I imagine they'll draw some lengthy, irrelevant promos from Hogan, Austin, Vince and Foley (I mean, what else can they do?). Frankie Williams 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 Great. An extra hour of suck.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 10, 2005 It's not like they're going to give us an extra twenty minutes of match time. Everyone needs their promo time.
Styles 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 Who changed the title of the thread? And THREE hours of RAW. uggg that makes it LESS appealing to me. I could barely get past 2 hours this past Monday. This pretty much guarentees RAW is getting taped.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 I can't even take 2 hours. Like, the longest I can go watching Raw is about 1 hour and 15 minutes including commercials. I imagine they'll put on one 20 minute match, two 10 minute match, and three or four under 5 minute matches. In total, about an hour of wrestling. Then about 1 1/2 hours of talk. And 30 minutes for commercials. The first and second hours will open with McMahon and Austin respectively. At 11pm HHH will catch the peak rating time. Styles 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 Hell, the most exciting news that comes out of this for me is that a new TUF2 episode will air on Monday night so I don't have to wait until the next Saturday. Yay~!
BUTT 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 I can imagine the WWE will be damaged by SpikeTV drawing, roughly, 1/4 of their usual audience immediately after RAW leaves. That'll show the WWE. Any channel that is actually holding a grudge like that is run by children and don't have a clue what to do. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, can you believe Spike wants to protect themselves by trying to retain viewers after their highest-rated show leaves for another network? How dare they!
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 Which former WWE Champion are most excited to see return to RAW on Oct. 3? Hulk Hogan 32.74 % 87426 Votes Mick Foley 18.87 % 50395 Votes Stone Cold 33.30 % 88917 Votes Triple H 15.07 % Poor Trips.
Aero 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 Where's the 'None of the Above' option when you need it? I have nothing against Austin, but he hasn't been entertaining for years. And Foley will likely just be shilling the new book.
Fartsauce 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 I'm wondering how TSN is going to show this. I have to work till 12 am...Looks like i'm avoiding the net for a day and downloading the show.

Adam 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 I saw my first UFC show last week, and may I just say, I was damn impressed. I'd actually rather watch that than RAW, so there's wheat I'd do if I was living in the US. I hope TNA and the UFC give Vince a good old run for his money. jester 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 Wow, a guy who is nearly 40 with a fucked up neck who wants to be a movie star who has already came back before, a guy who is nearly 50 with a bum hip and knee who has already came back many times before, a guy who is nearly 40 who can't work anymore (admitted as much after his ROH confrontations with Samoa Joe) and wants to be an author who has came back before after swearing he had retired to piss off everyone that believed him, a guy who is nearly sixty with an ego as big as his stride when he walks like he has a dump in his pants and his son in law who is responsible for turning off so many from the product in the last 3-4 years. Wow, what a way to draw interest in this new and exciting product... nothing like dragging back a bunch of injury laden former stars to make things interesting and discredit the stars they are trying to build. Maybe Austin will say to Carlito "I see taco people" and Hogan will spend half the show saying "brother" and flexing his wrinkled orange flesh. I swear to God, it's like WWE have their heads up their ass and expect us to eat the same shit they swallow backstage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Permit me to join in your bitterness. They have a chance to make a fresh start, so what do they do? Open the gates to the old folk's home. Again. Fuck Foley, Austin, Hogan, and the rest.

KingPK 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 That's the problem. People are going to watch the three hour show with all the big stars and get all excited about the move to USA.....and then the main event the next week is Cena in yet another handicap match vs. Tyson Tomko/Carlito/Masters/Torrie/Coach, so people will say "seen that" and flip to UFC or MNF. Guest Brian Report post Posted September 10, 2005 There's no pleasing you people. It's just for 1 week , its not becoming a regular thing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The problem is they continue to rely on these guys and their stale acts everytime they need a boost rather than look from within. The midset that created the idea for this show is the same one that continues to prevent change from the norm. And worse yet, these are guys who are going to hog up time by talking, and not wrestling. Same shit, same color.
cameron chaos 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 There's no pleasing you people. It's just for 1 week , its not becoming a regular thing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know what would please me? Each and every single on of these people laying down and putting over people on the full time roster to make new stars. However that is as likely as an elephant falling out of my ass. But they crow "I've got another couple of matches in me". Well, great. You have a handful of money matches left in you and get promoted like the Second Coming while everyone else who works 4-5 days a week gets to put you over before you go back to sitting at home and trying to get into everything OTHER than a long term wrestling career, which you have already had, excelled at and now how have nothing left to offer due to your accrued injuries and backstage political power which allows you to get by on your past accomplishments. Whoop de doo, let's throw some money at you, make some T shirts up so you can collect your merchandising check as you leave and make everyone else that works full time look like shit compared to you. The whole reason WWE is in the rut they are in right now is because just a month after Orton won the belt, he then laid down for HHH. Shelton Benjamin, IC champion, pushed HBK to the limit but still laid down in the end. Carlito got punked out by Austin and Piper who have aches and pains on cold days. Hassan and Davari got beat by two 40+ year olds, three if you include Austin on Raw. Their is no progress being made and no stars being given the ball so th WWE is in the same place it was years ago despite a slew of new names coming through the ranks, many of whom have actually been fired while less frequent performers keep earning millions for F all. I'm excited to see Foley appear because he's one of my favourites. I'm pretty sure he will put one of the midcard guys (Masters maybe) over and make them look like a million bucks. Austin doesn't really do it for me because he is stale.

RHR 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2005 The only thing that would make this more special than the normal blah blah blah bullshit...would be all these "champions" coming out first...then HHH comes out and talks about how much he is the game...then Lesnar comes out and f5's everyone of them into retirement...and Vince finally comes out and fires all the old guys... and I get to make an in-ring appearance eating an ice cream sandwich out of Ashley's ass....that too.... <goes to set up VCR to record RAW>

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2005 Has this been talked about yet? -- MXC SPECIAL EPISODE - "TNA vs. WWE" Premieres Thursday, October 6 (9:00 - 9:30 PM, ET/PT). To celebrate the launch of Spike TV's new series TNA: iMPACT!, the network presents a brand new episode of MXC, titled: "TNA vs. WWE." It's meat, muscle, and mayhem as Total Non Stop Action Wrestling tries to smack down the WWE. It's the classic battle of tight shorts vs. mock sports. Cause I'll be damned if I'll look through 13 pages to see.

Guest Brian Report post Posted September 14, 2005 The USA vs. Spike war on 10/3 heated up again today. USA is going to start Raw at 7:55 p.m., to get a five minute jump on UFC Unleashed on Spike at 8 p.m. In addition, USA has added a fourth hour of WWE programming, a show called "Raw Exposed," highlighting the best moments in Raw's history on the USA Network, to air directly after Raw and go against the Ultimate Fighter show on Spike. Four hours of WWE?!?!?

Unless they have a very good match to pull out of what they have on the RAW roster.
