Palmeiro implicates a teammate has his suplier

What a twat, at least Giambi admitted taking steriods but this idiot makes up some half ass excuse which probs aint even true

Giambi admitted taking steroids when he was under oath at a hearing in which his comments were never meant to be released to the public. He later publically apologized for unspecified actions, never once saying anything about steroids.

Judging on how anyone who's even fingered as a user, proof or no proof, is considered a cheater by the court of public opinion, it looks like Palmeiro knows he's cooked, but doesn't want to go down alone.

I repeat my previous statement.

Now, the fans are going to jump to the conclusion that Tejada's juicing too, even if he isn't. Tejada's reputation is tarnished, and he will be branded a user by the media, who are looking to sensationalize rather than report the facts. Palmeiro will have thrown his teammate, who thought Raffi was his friend, under the bus: what's worse, this basically happened for no reason other than for Palmeiro to have someone go down with him.

What a lowlife.

I'm not defending Palmeiro by saying this, but it was sworn testimony at a appeal hearing concerning his suspension. First, it wasn't supposed to see the light of day. Second, if what Tejada gave to him was illegal (which it reportedly wasn't), then he has the right to throw anyone else under the bus. From what Raffy said, he wasn't sure what he had taken, so he's right in his own mind to blame Tejada for the "false positive". The timeline for everything is correct - it's just that Palmeiro is a fucking liar even if it were true.

Again, just saying.

I'm wondering who keep leeking these "confidential" hearings. And remember that Palmeiro said this before the steroid suspension was announced. This is not something he is starting now.

I do think it is likely however that Palmeiro has played his last MLB game.

For God's sake, this has been like the season from hell for Orioles fans. After seeing Brian Roberts nearly have his arm ripped off, I thought this couldn't get any worse but Tejada getting dragged into this mess Palmeiro has created is sickening. In big bold letters so no one here at least gets the wrong idea:

Tejada cleared in Palmeiro saga

09/23/2005 1:29 AM ET

By Gary Washburn / MLB.com

NEW YORK -- Just moments before the Orioles announced that Rafael Palmeiro would not return to the field this season, executive vice president Jim Beattie said All-Star shortstop Miguel Tejada has been cleared of any wrongdoing in regards to Palmeiro's positive drug test as Palmeiro's strange saga continues.

Rumors were swirling Thursday that Palmeiro implicated Tejada to a Major League Baseball arbitration panel as the teammate who gave him stanozolol, the steroid that Palmeiro tested positive for in May. Palmeiro served a 10-day suspension, damaging his legacy and making him a distraction in the Orioles' clubhouse.

Late Thursday night, Palmeiro's attorneys, Mayer, Brown, Rowe and Maw LLP, released a statement denying any implication of teammates.

"As counsel to Mr. Palmeiro, we are disturbed about the misleading reports being leaked by unnamed sources who claim knowledge of the investigation," the statement said. "Rafael Palmeiro has never implicated any player in the intentional use or distribution of steroids, or any other illegal substance, in any interview or testimony."

Still, Tejada was investigated by the House Health Policy Advisory Committee, who examined Tejada's supplements three times and determined that he only gave Palmeiro a syringe of vitamin B-12, which is legal.

"I just found out right now," Tejada said. "I don't give anybody steroids because I've have been checked out three times already and I'm clean. I have been clean all my life. I don't give any steroids to anybody. Whoever gets caught, take responsibility. I don't have nothing to say about it."

Tejada did not hear the news until after the Orioles' 7-6 loss to the New York Yankees.

"I just found out like you guys did," he said. "It doesn't bother me because I'm not guilty. I don't do nothing wrong. I just give him B-12. B-12 is legal. I just give him a B-12, a long time ago. I am going to find out tomorrow what's going on. I really want to know what's going on."

Palmeiro is currently being investigated by Congress for a potential perjury charge after he testified in a March 17 hearing that he never used steroids. He also has promised to give his side of the positive test but has yet to reveal his defense.

Beattie was informed late Thursday night of the decision on Tejada.

"The rumors are unfounded but makes for an uncomfortable situation," said Beattie. "I know guys in this clubhouse had been [ticked] off about that whole idea that there might be someone in here involved in that as well."

Beattie said he was not informed of any investigation until Thursday, when Tejada was cleared.

"From what I understand, he didn't give [Palmeiro] a shot," said Beattie. "It was investigated and he passed. And they found it to be B-12. It was clean B-12."

Beattie said the potential implication of Tejada had become a major clubhouse distraction.

"There's been a rumor in the last couple of days that it was a teammate and it upset a lot of players in here," he said. "Guys are concerned about how they are getting involved. Miggy is cleared in any implication that he provided steroids to Palmeiro."

Yes, I know Giambi took steroids, and he probably still does, but I'm saying the "at least Giambi admitted it" thing doesn't really fly.
