Guest *KNK* Report post Posted October 25, 2005 further proof that WWE is just a industry of idiots. Do they not realize giving away PPV caliber matches isn't a requirement anymore? They have no need to give away these matches. They get no money from the shows and yet they offer crummy PPV events with no desirable attractions.

Nash last night, and will give away a money match on free television in two weeks. With neither of the promotions able to generate ad revenue, will that stop them from giving away money matches? No.
reign 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 What...you don't think that they'll do it again seven more times? On PPV and off...hell they'll probably show the PPV match on Raw for free the night after the show and then have them wrestle on RAW right after that...these people are nose deep in rubber cement and there's no help in sight...HBK should be throwing a fit about this like SCSA did when Vince wanted him to job to Brock in 02...Cena and HBK is a money feud that Vince is wasting...period

All you do is fuckin whine and complain bro. They give a good match on TV and you STILL bitch about it. Maybe there will be an angle around it. You need to chill the hell out already and stop acting like a bitch.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Cena v. HBK would have gotten a decent amount of PPV buys if they would have kept HBK heel and started that fued after Summerslam...stupid, just stupid...
RedJed 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Eh - I dont see it as a really big deal. It probably will be a DQ schmoz finish anyway and generally, having that on a Raw versus a ppv is quite alright since I dont have to pay $35 to see it. From a business perspective, just like last week, it baffles me why they didnt announce this before they went off the air last night on the actual show. If you're going to do it, great - but then pimp the hell out of it as much as you can to generate more viewers to next weeks Raw!!

As far as I can tell, this is bad for them but very, very good, for us fans. People were doing the same thing for Raw Homecoming: "They shouldn't be giving away Angle/HBK III for free! Damn them!" You should be GRATEFUL for these kind of mistakes. Their insecurity and desperation is giving you unusually good free wrestling, you should enjoy it.
slimm44 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Let's hope Michaels doesn't have the same luck as last year when he was injured the night before Taboo Tuesday. Not that I wouldn't love to see it, but it would be deja vu

10 Pounds 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 The match will probably end with an Angle interference. About saving the match for a PPV, I agree. Although it's not like PPVs, except for the big ones, serve any real purpose anymore. I think all the matches that took place at Unforgiven, safe for Michaels-Masters, have been done on Raw in the following weeks. Why pay $35 for a PPV when there's a strong possibility that there will be rematches within the next few weeks or the main-event will have a bullshit finish just to set up the rematch the following month ? Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 10 Pounds of Gold hit it pretty much on the head. There are very few matches in WWE anymore that actually mean anything. I can barely remember anything that happened last month in WWE. I mean, there are four hours of original programming every single week, and almost 2 PPVs every month. It doesn't really matter if a match is on TV or a PPV, it will probably be forgotten or nullified by WWE's writers within three or four months at most anyway. The Monday Night Wars spoiled us, and now my brain feels like it's been fried from too many WWE matches.

Even if we know ultimately it'll be a DQ ending, they could actually draw money from a match / feud between these two, and they're just giving it away. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2005 Has anyone noticed that they are extremely reluctant to job anyone out to Cena that's worth a crap? Since Cena won the title he really hasn't gone over anyone with any serious heat or credibility. Just JBL and a jobbed out Jericho. Hell, they don't even really want to job out Angle or Michaels to him.
