Guest bigm350 Report post Posted November 15, 2005 $18.00 at Wal-Mart. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Damn, the local Wal-Mart around here has it for $21.93. I was going to pick it up but I thought better of it, and will probably check out Best Buy later.
tpww7 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2005 Wal-Mart here has everything incredibly cheap to just outmatch every store around the area. I'm not complaining. Every WWE PPV DVD is always $12 first week as well.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2005 local targets here never have wwe dvds, but their website sells them oddly. I did watch eddies dvd last night before raw, mostly the los guerreros vignettes, and then yes the feature. (I broke down when Dean Malenko said he went to JR to intervene for Eddie, "cuz he didn't want to hear about his freind Eddie being found dead in a hotel room somewhere")
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2005 22.99 at FYE. 5 dollar rebate to be mailed in. And a free WWE comfy skull cap. Awesome. And I'm gonna go meet up with Bret later today for his signing.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 Ughhh, I get mine and it's missing Disc #3 . . . zoiks. FYE said they'd replace it though. Anyone else have that problem?
haVoc 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 I paid about $22 for mine at Wal-Marts today. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned. I still haven't watched any matches yet though. I was worn out after watching the main feature and the special features on the first disc. Plus, there's only about 3 matches I've never seen before.

DMann2003 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 I love the DVD, the program was great just to hear from Bret going over his career, sure I've seen all the matches and can think of 10 more that should be here (Where's Hart Foundation vs Demolition 2/3 falls from SummerSlam 90?) But I'm glad to have what's here in one package (And I can still see myself in the crowd for Bret vs Perfect at KOTR 93, preserved in DVD glory for all time now)
GreatWhiteNope 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 Someone on DVDTalk said the audio is not correctly synched with the video for the WM 13 match with Austin. Can anyone confirm this?
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 Picked this up at Best Buy last night for $19.99 Copped the last one too. Still haven't watched it yet. Still gotta watch Joe vs Kobashi, which came in the day before.
Big McLargeHuge 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 Yeah, the audio for the I Quit match is delayed by about a second. The commentary seems in synch, but the thuds, slams, chairshots and other sounds from the actual match are off. I watched the doc yesterday and some of the matches. Bret pointing how he looked in the pre-WM12 video package was funny stuff. As was calling Shawn a little bastard. Was anyone else hoping that Rockers/HF match would run about 10 minutes longer? I was loving it.
Guest TootyFruity Report post Posted November 16, 2005 Is there anyone that DOESN'T have the audio problem on the Bret/Austin match? FWIW, I sent an email to WWE about this and here's their response: We appreciate you writing in about this item. We will talk with our video team about this. If you are unhappy with the product, we suggest you return it to the place where you purchased it.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 Even with English Commernatry, I can't think of why the Bam Bam match is in there. I'm guessing Bret liked it more than their KOTR bout.
Guest Kdo5 Report post Posted November 16, 2005 Yeah the DVD was totally amazing stuff, his match selections are wonderfull, ofcourse since he hand picked them. The main presentation had me drooling over it for hours. Great great stuff.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 I just finished watching the main feature. It's obviously one of the best that WWE has released so far, but since Bret had such an amazing career which had so many important things happen during it, it does leave you wanting more, a lot more. It feels like a two hour sample of what was originally a 10 hour mini-series or something. I'd have loved to have him speak more about his feud with Owen, all of the matches they had, how they "reconciled" in the ring eventually, and on and on. I'd loved to have been able to hear more about the Hart Foundation days, both the original tag team and the eventual stable. I'd love to hear more and more about everything that is included. I can't fault the DVD for this though, as there is only so much they can do with two hours, and they're lucky that they got to as much as they did with such a short amount of time. Like I said, it is one of the best they've done so far, if not the best, but because of the nature of the career, the main feature left me wanting a lot more than what we have here. I'm sure that the books that he is writing will cover everything else in way more detail, so that should help fill any voids that I myself have, as well as anyone else. I have found four easter eggs: -Disc Two -------> Extras Menu -------> Highlight "Boston Garden 3/8/86, Bret Hart vs. Ricky Steamboat" and press the right arrow twice. It shows Bret talking about how he always tried to make his wrestling look real, instead of how so many have more of a fake style. -Disc Two -------> Extras Menu -------> Highlight "Saturday Night's Main Event 4/28/90, Hart Foundation vs. Rockers" and press the left arrow two times. It shows Bret talking about how he came up with his Hitman ring name. -Disc Two -------> Extras Menu -------> Highlight "WWE Intercontinental Championship Match, Summerslam 1992 8/29/92, Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog" and then press the left arrow two times. It shows Bret talking about being able to call him self "The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be". -Disc Three -------> Extras Menu -------> Highlight "WWE Championship Match, Survivor Series 11/19/95, Bret Hart vs. Diesel" and press the right arrow two times. It plays a music video (You Start A Fire) with clips of Bret Hart. I have not been able to find the easter egg that cawthon777 posted about earlier, so like he said, perhaps it was just his DVD acting up. I have no idea for sure though. Guest Duke_The_Dog Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Go to chapters, Stampede Wrestling, and hit the left button twice. Interesting Stampede interview with the Kiwis (Bushwhackers) and their manager, while Dynamite Kid wanders around in the back. The announcer gets a surprise toward the end from one of the Kiwis. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 The real revelation on the first disc is the Stampede footage. I seriously wish they had included that entire Dynamite Kid/Bret match from about 1980-81. That match looked AWESOME for the time period, hell it looked awesome even today. Ditto the 1982 match with Bad News that was a ladder match. Just amazingly revolutionary compared to the dreary snoozers that the WWF was doing at that time. I'll start watching the other two discs tonight.
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Whoa, Bret finally gets credit for the ladder match? This will be mine next week.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Bret signed my copy on Tuesday. He looked EXHAUSTED. I discussed how I had never seen the Bulldog/Bret IYH match before and loved it, because that night I was at an Eagles/Lions playoff game (55-10 or so stomping by Eagles). He looked at me like I just asked him to sign it to "Mike Hickenbottom". Oh well, it was free. Scary thing was, after waiting 3 hours to get a good line spot, the girl's like "OK, show your (Best Buy) receipts!" I bought mine at FYE (better price, free skull hat). However, one of the foolish Best Buy clerks gave me a pink sticker to put on the box (Bret's DVD from FYE came in a big box, in addition to the DVD case). She let me go. So unlike the Hitman, I was able to avoid being screwed.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Whoa, Bret finally gets credit for the ladder match? This will be mine next week. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well if a 2 second clip of the Hart vs Allen match at the end of the main feature music video counts, then yeah. Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 They talked about that ladder match in the main feature, showing quite a bit of it (well, a couple of minutes including the interview by Bret after the match, bue either wayit's more than just two seconds). It was pretty cool seeing the clips of that match knowing what year it took place.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Yeah, I dunno if he actually says "Yes, I invented the ladder match" but my god they show a bit of footage with him vs. Bad News Allen from 1982 and it's a ladder match. It seemed really sweet too from what they showed, I wanted to see it all. Wonder why they didn't include any Stampede matches on the extras? Maybe Bret hadn't seen them in so long he'd forgotten them, or maybe thought WWE didn't have access? I too need to rewatch the Bret/Bulldog match from 1995. If I recall that match is awesome, almost as good as the Wembley match.
Guest Duke_The_Dog Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Bret wanted hisbest matches, he doesn't sound on the main feature like he thought too highly of his ability vs his place on the card, so maybe he'd perfer to have his later great work over his older good work.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Well I don't guess there should have been a huge amount of Stampede necessarily but I'd have rather seen the Dynamite Kid match and the Bad News ladder match on the DVD rather than the pointless time limit draw tag matches with the Bulldogs and the Killer Bees. I'd have perhaps also rather seen the 2nd tag title win over Demolition instead of the WM 7 loss to the Nasty Boys, though I guess since that might well have been the last match he and Anvil tagged (at least until the 1997 HF rebirth) he felt the need to include it. razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Any chance for a Volume 2? There is so much missing from this collection that should of been included but I guess due to having to meet the deadline it was just left out. The 2 Stampede matches, the Flair title match, Intercontinential title matches, Hart Foundation tag team title matches, are some that I thought should of been in this collection. Guest *KNK* Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Whatever happened to Volume 2 of Flair DVD that was supposedly coming out or being a part of a Horseman DVD? There's like 200 dvds that were reported to be released and never did.
