King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 They usually put some lesser known stuff on. So, they'd need at least one match from AWA vs. Jerry Lawler. Also, for historical reasons, Savage vs. Jake from Tuesday In Texas should be included. Savage vs. DDP (the good one) Bash At The Beach?
Guest Ransome Report post Posted November 17, 2005 The match where Savage delivers a piledriver through an announce table to Ricky Morton in 1984 (I can't remember the other participants in the match).

IWD 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 At least if they do a burial of Macho, they can't fault his technical skills during his WWF tenure. It could be quite interesting in fact.

But all three of the DDP/Savage matches in 97 (Spring Stampede, Great American Bash, and Halloween Havoc) were great.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Just wondering but what is it that Vince has against Macho that keeps them from doing a DVD of him, etc.? I have an old tape that I got at Wal Mart that has some old school Memphis stuff on it. The Macho/Lawler match was pretty fun but they have to put the famed match with the Rock N Rolls where he put Morton through the table.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 I remember reading that rumor in a Hyatte column a while back. I have no idea if that's actually true, but it might explain the ill feelings towards Savage. I mean it has to go deeper than "the guy is just nuts, fuck him." Right? Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Reasons why WWE wants nothing to do with Savage 1) He's actually more unstable than Warrior 2) He won't cooperate in any way and is uncontrolable, which the McMahon's hate. 3) He has it out big time for Hulk Hogan, who WWE still sees as a profitable commodity and they don't want to fuck up relations with a drawing card right now. In time, they'll probrably make a burial DVD about Savage. It's sad because Savage actually deserves to be in their Hall of Fame just as much, if not more than any other person alive or dead. razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 But the Hall of Fame is not for real it's just a vehicle for the WWF to sell more merchandise. Savage better not be the one who is on the unofficial death watch list And if the video is going to be a burial then it must include the Dennis Rodman match and the feud with Nash in WCW that involved sewage/vomit being used as props and lets not forget his harem of ladies (Asya, Miss Madness, Gorgeous George). It's sad because Savage actually deserves to be in their Hall of Fame just as much, if not more than any other person alive or dead. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Marcus J. Allen of Seattle, Wash. asks: With all the WWE stars from the past returning and making guest appearances, why hasn't Macho Man Randy Savage been invited back? To my knowledge he has never drew the ire of Vince McMahon, nor has he been a cancer. He didn't jump to WCW for the big contract during the early 1990s and didn't have a problem putting guys over, nor taking a step aside for the so-called "New Generation." He didn't leave until November 1994 when he and WWE couldn't agree on a contract. WK: Vince McMahon is upset at Randy Savage. In a recently posted Torch Newsletter back issue in the Torch VIP section, there is a news item about how during a creative meeting someone brought up Savage's name, and McMahon made it clear his name was not to be brought up in the future. He says that about very few people. Savage's departure from WWE did upset McMahon, even though WCW offered Savage more money and a chance to be a top level wrestler. There have been rumors for years that something else happened behind the scenes with Savage and McMahon that really upset McMahon, but I honestly have never had any specific rumor verified on or off record. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 I don't really buy the whole "Savage can't be controlled and hates Hogan" thing. There has to be more to it than that. I mean hell they actually wanted to work with the Warrior on that DVD until he told them to fuck off and they did the burial. The whole Stephanie thing would seem plausible in terms of making Vince so angry he'd never want Savage back, but the dates here don't add up. She's about 30 now, right? So this would have happened in roughly 1990 or so, but Savage was around for another 4 years. Maybe it's one of those things where Steph told him years later (if it happened). JimmyHendricks 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2005 The whole "Sleeping with Stephanie" rumor/urban legend isn't true. I think Meltzer confirmed it wasn't at one point. Even if he hadn't, there's no way--Savage was still with the WWF for years after this supposedly happened. It doesn't make since for Vince to get pissed 15 years after the fact. Unless he didn't know about it. Oops. My all time favorite Savage moment was his commentary after the Doink/Crush match at WM 9. Heenan was going on about how the "Double Doinks" was just an illusion brought on by David Copperfield, since he was doing a show at Caesars around that time. Savage responded, totally serious..... "Well, if that's true, then Crush is going to beat up David Copperfield." I can't explain why, but I laughed for about 10 straight minutes when he said that, and still do everytime I hear it. It's just how he says it. Typing it doesn't do it justice.

Guest tony manero Report post Posted November 21, 2005 That reminds me. I'm going to take a sign to RAW that says STEPH LOST HER VIRGINITY TO SAVAGE on one side and OH YEAH, HE DIGGED IT on the back. I may even take a pic of Savage gnawing on a Slim Jim; The accompanying sign would read, "Macho Man digged Steph's beef. OH Yeah"
