I take that to mean that Portland is going to have a long year. As a side Portland question, I thought that they were going to upgrade their image? Why is Rueben Patterson anywhere near the team then? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They want to trade him, but he's got a fairly expensive (for what he brings to the table, defense and energy, not much else) contract, and so far it seems like the Knicks are the only interested team. I think they're offering Malik Rose, who the Blazers don't seem to be interested in. Malik Rose is a leader by example, high character guy, brings about the same skills on court as Patterson just as a 4 rather than a 3, and the contract is about the same IIRC. Brown fucked up a two-peat? I didn't realize it was his fault they lost. I know he's coaching your team Roy, but it is rather common knowledge that he kept an excessively tight rotation and would not play the youngers guys to give the starters rest and it caught up with the Pistons in the Finals. And even then, they were nine minutes and change away from repeating. If the Knicks had a starting five half as good as the Pistons do, Channing Frye would be their version of Darko, sitting on the end of the bench. Larry is playing the younger guys because he has nothing else, and it just so happens that its paying off. I wish I could say that he has finally learned a lesson, but I just don't think so. Brown lending some truth to those comments no matter how realistic they were, could not have been anything less than a mild distraction to the Pistons. The bascially have a point guard playing center and powerforward for them. I saw his talent when he played in Atlanta, but apparently the Atlanta management didn't. The suns have been winning since they started playing their offense through Diaw and its taking some of the pressure off of nash and he looks alot more energized.
