RavishingRickRudo Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I think we both know when Randy Orton was the most over on this board.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I've been saying it for weeks now and I'll say it again. The WrestleMania main event, provided Batista doesn't drop it due to his injury, absolutely has to be Batista defending against The Undertaker. Can the champion, who has held the championship for a full year, be the one to finally end The Undertaker's winning streak? The story writes itself, and for once you have a WrestleMania main event that has some element of doubt as to who the winner's actually going to be. Sure, it means Taker wins the Rumble when someone else could use the rub of winning the Rumble, but I don't see how Taker vs. Batista isn't the correct thing for business. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because 1. Batista shouldn't be the one to beat Taker at Mania to end the streak. 2. Taker shouldn't have anymore title reigns. That's why it's a stupid move.
The Czech Republic Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I swore I was done even mentioning it, Rudo, but I remember our Randy Orton stuff from those two days better than I remember any real plot Randy Orton was ever in, ever.
CBright7831 Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I swear to God, if it's Batista/Orton and HHH/Cena next year, I doubt I'll be watching wrestling much longer. I've quit before, and came back when I heard Benoit was a favorite to win the title, and I can quit again.
The Czech Republic Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I don't watch wrestling, but I bet a lot of Randy Orton's mic work consists of him just saying "I'M RANDY ORTON" a lot. Because it's not like anyone would fuckin' know otherwise.
Angle-plex Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Angle-Plex, Rey/Hardy in San Diego(?), Benoit/Hardy in the US title tournament and Benoit/Hardy in June 00 are all really good matches, or really good for the time they're given, in the latter's case especially. Oh and Hardy/Booker from Heat04. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I honestly don't remember any of these matches, so I can't say they weren't good, but the fact that I can't remember them kind of speaks for itself. Orton definetly isn't a Flair or an Austin or anything, but I think he's a good uppercarder. A heel shouldn't get the big win at a Wrestlemania regardless though.

There was danger surrounding him.

Spaceman Spiff Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Who's going to care if Randy RKO's his pops? Especially after a 1-time screw up? As for the Orton hate, and maybe I'm just speaking for myself here, but the guy is just a white bread generic dude. Nothing really stands out about him, except for being a pretty-boy, he's average on the mic, and he's just average in the ring. Normally, that would just lend himself to the realm of apathy, but when you add in the fact that they've been pushing him hard for close to 2 years (despite it not being warranted for most of that time), that's where people start hating on him.
The Czech Republic Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I'M RANDY ORTON. I AM A LEGEND. I AM A LEGEND BECAUSE I AM RANDY ORTON. YOU WILL ALL KNOW THAT I AM RANDY ORTON. is this accurate
Hoff Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I'M RANDY ORTON. I AM A LEGEND. I AM A LEGEND BECAUSE I AM RANDY ORTON. YOU WILL ALL KNOW THAT I AM RANDY ORTON. is this accurate <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You didn't pose.
naiwf Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I'M RANDY ORTON. I AM A LEGEND KILLER. I AM A LEGEND KILLER BECAUSE I AM RANDY ORTON. YOU WILL ALL KNOW THAT I AM RANDY ORTON. is this accurate <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I added the two words you missed, but it's pretty much right on the money, though you need to add some HHH level pauses in between sentences and the syllables in his last name.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Paradoxical Randy Orton~! "I am RANDY ORTON. I am A LEGEND. I am a LEGEND BECAUSE I AM RANDY ORTON. I AM RANDY ORTON BECAUSE I AM A LEGEND. IF I WERE NOT A LEGEND, THEN I WOULD NOT BE RANDY ORTON. I would simply not exist. But SINCE I DO EXIST, then I MUST be a LEGEND."
Dangerous A Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I also think Orton should ditch his dad in a spectacular fashion. Have Orton lose a meaningful but inconsequential match via inadvertent botched interference by his dad. His dad enters the ring and helps Orton up. They embrace and then Orton gets a mic. "Thanks Dad, for all you've done for me. I really appreciate it. I was glad they inducted you in the Hall of Fame... hey wouldn't that make you a legend?" then BOOM, RKO, putting down the Cowboy. Orton then says, "Your services are no longer required." Preferrably this is done before the HIAC, so Orton can win the match vs Taker without his dad around. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, this is a good idea except I think he'd get more heat if he ditched his dad after a big win. A loss makes Randy justified in what he's doing. If he ditches his dad after a win, it makes him look stronger because he now feels he can go it alone and it shows he doesn't appreciate his dad's help and rewards him with an RKO for it.

Hence, I must kill myself, as a I am a LEGEND KILLER and I must kill a LEGEND. then he explodes, hopefully he's filled with treats, like a pinata Candy Orton > Randy Orton

Rey/Hardy & Hardy/Benoit US Title were both pretty damn good. I liked Rey/Hardy a little better. I believe Rey/Hardy ME'ed that SD in San Diego, and the match did a pretty good TV rating, something like a 4.5.

The Czech Republic Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Have Orton lose a meaningful but inconsequential match via inadvertent botched interference by his dad. What?!? Those are fucking opposites

RavishingRickRudo Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I think Orton should come up with meaningful but inconsequential quips about life. That's right. He'd be Jack Handy Orton.
Dandy Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Dress up as a frail old lady and have Morgan Freeman drive him around and be Jessica Tandy Orton.
The Czech Republic Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Love Boat crew member Fred Grandy Orton
Dandy Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 He should dress up as my dad and be "Randy" Orton! Wait, that's horrible.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Or go back in time, meet a popular balladeer, become his inspiration and become Oh Mandy Orton. *fixed cause Hoffs was better*
The Czech Republic Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Blackface. Amos & Andy Orton.
The Czech Republic Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Cheap Trick cover band frontman Robin Zand-y Orton?
Dandy Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Wear orange and talk to fish and be Aquamandy Orton.
bob_barron Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Don't bother replying to me, NJ. You're ignored. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> WWE Folder. And Angle-plex, just b/c you don't remember the matches doesn't mean they weren't good. All the matches Dark Age listed were very very good.
