Lil' Bitch Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 I nominate Jet Li Vs. Jet Li from The One.
Gary Floyd Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Ricky vs. Oscar from "Story of Ricky". The martial arts aren't that great, but it's still awesome, simply for Oscar tearing out his own intestines, and strangling Ricky with them.
Dimensions Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 The chase in Ong Bak through the market place or the ending at least.
Guest Askewniverse Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Team USA vs. Team Korea (Tommy Lee vs. Dae Han, in particular) from Best of the Best.
Nighthawk Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Jackie Chan vs Ken Lo from Drunken Master II (that's The Legend of Drunken Master for those only familiar with the reissue)
Guest wildpegasus Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Why do we have to limit it to martial arts and cinema? Let's talk about the greatest fictional fights off all time; just not the movies
Nighthawk Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Oh, nobody wants to hear about that.
Special K Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 (edited) Jackie Chan vs Ken Lo from Drunken Master II (that's The Legend of Drunken Master for those only familiar with the reissue) ^Yes. That's my #1. Some lesser seen gems. Gymkata The skill of gymnastics, the kill of karate. John Cabot vs. a mob of well-armed villagers, armed only with: A POMMEL HORSE! Musashi Miyamoto, aka Samurai 1, starring Toshiro Mifune. I love the fight scenes in this movie. They're both funny and realistic. Mifune is a dirty, bedraggled wild man who will just charge you with a big stick and beat you a vigorously as he can. Just the crazy look on his face is phenomenal, and the beatings he lays out to trained guards, simply because he is nuts and tireless are a joy to watch, Priest vs. Zombies, Braindead, aka Dead/Alive. The Niggardly King Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Anything with Chuck Norris.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 I'm seconding Ong-Bak. I LOVE that movie. Especially the barfight between the main character and that one American that did nothing but use weapons. Reminded me a lot of an ECW brawl, just more fluid and more one-sided. The beginning of it was AWESOME, as the main character just ends a fight quickly with some other guy, and then the American puts down his newspaper and walks over to him, offers to shake his hand...and then SMASH! Beer bottle over the head!
Special K Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Only thing better than the start of that fight is the end. Ja throws him through a 2nd-story glass window and jumps after him and knees him in midair.
Lord of The Curry Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 In terms of sheer ass-kickery: Anything from Ong-Bak. Honestly, do not try and argue anything against this movie.
Guest Brian Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Drunken Master II fight as has already been mentioned.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Apollo Creed vs. Ivan Drago. Take THAT American Democracy!
Karnage Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Anything directed by Sammo Hung such as Knockabout, Eastern Condors, Dragons Forever, Wheels on Meals, The Magnificent Butcher, Spooky Encounters, etc...
razazteca Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 (edited) Legend of the Fist is a good choice. But the true master is this man! Jet Li vs Donnie Yen Edited December 9, 2005 by razazteca
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Jet Li is brutally awesome in everything he's in. So damn fluid in his movements.
Ravenbomb Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Christian Bale vs. Everyone at the end of Equilibrium
jwpeer Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Christian Bale vs. Everyone at the end of Equilibrium I just saw that movie the other day. He really could have killed the entire city, and pretty much killed everyone who could fight in the city. That was awesome...though a lot more style than substance (Which isn't bad persay, but it can't compare with the scenes in Ong-Bak)
Lei Tong Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Not hand to hand, but: Rob Roy vs. Archibald Cunningham
Edwin MacPhisto Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Dalton (Patrick Swayze) vs. the guy who says "I used to fuck guys like you in prison" in Road House. So much ballet, and such a finish. I'm also partial to the Warriors vs. the Baseball Furies, which is wonderful in its own way. Final note: just about the whole tournament in Master of the Flying Guillotine, and that final guillotine battle as well.
cabbageboy Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 I love that Rob Roy fight scene. In fact Tim Roth in that (as Cunningham) is the best heel in film history. Really the only time where I felt if I even met the ACTOR on the street I'd want to kick his ass. Just a fucker. I mean that in a good way.
Special K Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 G.O.B. Versus Michael Bluth, Beef Consomme
haVoc Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 Here's a martial arts comp VIDEO if anyone is bored.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 ...I think I saw an F5 in that video...
Matt Young Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 Kiddo vs. the Crazy 88 in Kill Bill Volume 1. I've seen that movie probably 50 times and it never gets old.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 I'm also partial to the Warriors vs. the Baseball Furies, which is wonderful in its own way. I like it when the Warriors fight those stripey shirt guys in the bathroom, too.
