I love the fact that Christian is able to play the exact same character, with the exact same entrance music, ring attire, and catchphrases he used when he worked for WWE.

And all he needed to add was a last name.

Rhino busting out the profanity is a nice touch. It shows a sense of continuity with the character.

"Jarrett, I'm gonna shit down your fucking throat, give you the fucking Gore, and take the fucking NWA World Heavyweight title back!"

Very solid show, only thing I didn't like was that it didn't seem like the "go-home show" for the PPV (not enough shilling), and the way they cut the James Mitchell promo to make it look like the ring was magically surrounded by barbed wire was really lame.

Does the Law of Inverse Pre-PPV TV Show Win/Heat apply to TNA?

TNA wouldn't be crazy enough to job Christian out in his first PPV match. Right?

I hope not... I could see it ending in a DQ though.

Good show. The 6 man in the beginning was enjoyable. The spot on the stage was cool and so was the finish.

Joe vs. Red was ok but Red got in too much offense. I really wanted to see Joe punish that skinny little bitch. :firedevil:

The White Sox thing was lame until the DITR came out. Glad they're being pushed as a formidable team and not just the New J.O.B. Squad. Great promo by Diamond. They should throw someone else in the group and have Simon just be the mouthpiece.

Did I hear Don West call DALE TORBORG a legend?

Another great Rhino video. The "he's not on the show because he's at home training for the biggest match of his career" angle they're going with is something I haven't seen before. Makes the match and the belt seem very important.

The Captain looked like crap, but Bobby Roode carried him to a very enjoyable match. Who knew you could get ring rust after only a month off?

The barbed wire ropes thing was just silly... Not as silly as Don West calling DALE TORBORG a legend though.

I love the armbreaker spot that Eric Young (I think that's his name) did, I was hoping for it when they started it. Though Sonjay should have been cheering Young on and Young smiles at Sonjay and doesn't figure out what's what until a few seconds later.

They need Colt Cabana and Beef Wellington to go with Alex Shelley and Shark Boy - those 4 along with Young could make for some excellent comedy.

How tall are the baseball players? Just wondering, since they towered over everyone else in the ring...

AJ P is 6'3", Torborg was billed at 6'7" when he was the Kiss Demon

Shelley is really an amazing talent, and if they keep going with this sympathetic nerd comedy character he is going to become a cult favorite in a hurry. He could be a good minor challenge to Joe down the line, the fans will get behind him, he can bring character to the X division.

- Jarrett with green hair was tremendous.

- TNA needs to realize that neither the FSN nor the Spike TV fans (people who started watching TNA during this time) know who Amazing Red is.

- Doing a Chicago skit in Florida makes a lot of sense.

- That presentation ceremony was LAME.

- Torborg still sucks.

- Simon has a problem? Yeah, you're getting fucking fat.

- Diamond should've made a direct reference to The Demon character.

- Kip James is more and more of a flaming homosexual every week.

- TNA should never use these jobbers again unless they buy them new ring attire.

- If we have to watch Kip James and BG James wrestle, that's how it should happen every single time.

- Excellent interview from Roode and D'Amore. Too bad it led to a meh match.

- That Abyss clip would've been AWESOME if it had no audio and was part of a build-up video. Abyss growling just made it look stupid.

I was so sure the trophy bat was gonna get used as a weapon.

Ohhh it will.

The Abyss clip near the end of the show sort of took me out of the program for a second. The rest of the promotion looked pretty major league until then. I mean, it was just Mitchell and Abyss walking towards the camera with a yellow light behind 'em.

Otherwise, this was the first Impact I've watched all the way through since the first one on FSN ages ago and was pretty impressed. I really wanted to see Red get totally murdered, as malicious as that sounds. Monty Brown is a scary motherfucker. It's going to be hard to get used to Christian as a face.

Don't forget Claudio. The comb = the ratings.

I enjoyed this show.

The six-man wasn't great, but it did have excellent pacing and flow, it seemed very natural and well-booked.

I liked the Rhino promo's a lot, it almost makes me think Rhino might actually win...except he won't.

The baseball thing was ok, kinda amusing to see how much taller Torborg and Pierzynski are than their x-division wrestlers ;p Imagine if they brought in someone like matt morgan, he'd make their roster look like midgets.

I actually kinda liked the Christian match. He brought out some new/different moves, and a lot of the rust/hesitancy is him trying some new things in his moveset/matches that he couldn't do in the WWE, as well as working as a face rather than a heel. I think he's gonna be ok once he establishes himself a bit in TNA :)

The lights out switch from ring ropes to barbed wire was ridiculously fake. But amusing :)

I may order Turning Point, if I do it's to see Christian/Monty, Joe/styles and whether Rhino can actually win (Maybe he'll get to do a rhinodriver to Jarrett, 2nd-rope piledriver on jarrett = cool)

We'll see on sunday :)

I think the rust/hesitancy from Christian had to do with him working in a totally different kind of ring then what he is use to.

And as for the Monty/Christian match I have no idea how it will go. I mean Christian is their new hot star and I doubt they would job him on his first PPV but, then again Monty is getting one hell of a push. So, I have a feeling it will in a DQ if anything.

It was the headlight from the car they got out of. Or so I took it as.

I actually really liked the light thing.

At the end, when the lights went out, I thought "wouldn't it be cool if when the lights were back on, the ropes would have barbed wire on them?" and then they did, and I thought "I guess not"

I think that I might start writing iMPACT! reviews. Maybe not officially for any particular site but I could do it just so I can copy/paste it at various places. I always want to say shit after each show.

Anyway, after watching Bobby Roode tonight, he's moved up to my third favorite wrestler slot behind only James Gibson and Triple H. I've liked him in the past but he seemed to flounder for a little bit. Last night, he reminded me of how he impressed me in the first place: his selling. Goddamn, did you see his selling of getting whipped into the steps? That was Curt Hennig style!

The video package for Turning Point was great. The Rhyno video, again, was good. I liked how AMW/Jarrett, the tag and world champs respectively, opened the show. As mentioned, the teetering spot was pretty creative, although it made it seem like the fall was going to be a lot larger than two-to-three feet. :)

I have to admit, I didn't think that 4LK match was going to end that quickly. That was faster than a Monty Brown squash. Faster than a Samoa Joe squash. TNA sure do a lot of squash matches. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing but they should tone it down at least a little bit.

I don't know if I care about the Abyss/Sabu match, even with all the hype going into the match. The only thing that I care about is that Abyss goes over. He needs to be moving up the card and Sabu seems to just be "enhancement talent" to me nowadays. I'm sure the match will have at least one or two brutal spots. Thumbtacks will probably come out. The barbed wire will see some action. I don't know if tables will be involved because they won't want to steal the thunder of the AMW/3D match from later on but it should be a typical ECW style hardcore match with Sabu doing things that he shouldn't be doing anymore.

I really want to see Joe/Styles because I think they can have a good match. From what's happened on iMPACT! it seems as if Joe is just going to squash Styles and it's not a "big match." Kinda disappointing build-up.

I actually want to see Rhyno win the belt again just because of these video packages. We'll probably get an answer to the whole Gayda thing at the PPV too...as well as what the "big surprise" is.

I plan on watching Turning Point. :)

I enjoyed the Christan/Roode match, actually. It was full of intereference, but it was the fun/enjoyable kind of schmozz ending.

I really enjoyed Red/Joe, as well. As short as it was, I'd never seen Red in action before and that little guy can bump like a motherfucker!

Even the basebrawl setup wasn't as offensive as I thought it would be. Simon Diamond is really competent on the mic, IMO.

The only complaints I have, as usual, are Jeff Hardy (the guy can't even make a stomp look like it's connecting) and the Orlando crowd. I'd put Monty Brown in there as well, but I didn't have to listen to him talk with his so-called "charisma" so I won't. :P

I like Christian. I'm glad he got to work closer to his family. I'm glad he's not going to be missued anymore. His outfit made him look to bush league. It looked like a two your old designed and made based off his WWE wardrobe.

Good show. The nostagia kick is over. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn need to not be DX anymore.
